The Rapide name has been part of Ridgeback’s heritage for the last 30 years. First used for a small range of road bikes before eventually becoming a successful market leading hybrid range. Over the last 18 months we have set about creating a range of road bikes that takes cues from the Ridgeback brand. High quality, reliability and practicality rolled into stylish and affordable offerings. For 2015 Rapide is reborn, offering everything you’d expect from its parent brand. We have designed and developed new frame platforms specifically for the needs of the UK market. We have paid particular attention to frame sizing and fit, resulting in unique geometry to provide a perfect mix of handling, responsiveness and ride comfort. Underlining our commitment to quality, Rapide frames are backed up by a limited lifetime warranty. The aluminium RL series comes with mudguard eyelets, making its suitable for year round use. We have used custom drawn tube profiles to deliver optimum performance. They deliver weight savings, stiffness and compliance directly to where it is needed. Long drop calipers ensure plenty of clearance and 25c tyres offer added comfort. If you are looking for a comfortable winter training machine or an affordable first road bike then look no further than the RL series. The carbon RC series comes with internal cable routing, suitable for mechanical or electronic groupsets. A tapered head tube keeps the front end stiff, improving cornering stability and out of the saddle efforts. Every tube profile is optimized to create a front triangle that has an excellent stiffness to weight ratio and a rear triangle that enhances ride comfort. The characteristics of the frame have been further improved by the use of 30T and 24T carbon throughout. Durable, affordable and stylish, the RC is ideal as a fast sportive bike or comfortable race bike, providing the best of all worlds.
