Introduction The ANSYS Fluent software contains the broad physical modeling capabilities needed to model flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and reactions for diverse industrial applications. Its advanced solver technology provides fast, accurate CFD results, flexible moving and deforming meshes, and superior parallel scalability. New user models and extensive customization of existing ones can be implemented using userdefined functions. All of these features results in one of the most comprehensive software packages for CFD modeling available in the world today. This 2 days course is intended for those who have some preliminary knowledge of ANSYS Fluent, and wanted to learn more about the advanced features in the software. The course will highlight how the software can be applied for various problems typically found in the Aerospace, Marine & Offshore, Petroleum and Chemical Industries. It will also introduce several multiphysics applications, such as coupling of CFD to structure for fluidstructure interaction, and unsteady dynamics model. Course Objectives By the end of the course, the attendees would be able to use ANSYS Fluent to model advanced problems specific to their areas of interest, and verify the results obtained, as well as use them to understand, diagnose and investigate their problems. They will also have the confidence to present or publish their results for peerreviews. Topics Covered Advanced Features of ANSYS Fluent (settings, methods, parameters, schemes, options, tricks) Complicated flow, Timedependent flow Aerodynamics Flow with moving boundaries (e.g. flapping wings) Coupled fluidstructure problems Unsteady flow, Internal flow, phasechanged flow Flow with freesurface High speed and combustible flow Chemical reacting flow Course Prerequisites Prior experience of ANSY Fluent and familiar with its basic features is required
