Hey everyone we,re back home! 2006-05-10

Salut tout le monde, on est rentres en Irlande! Sorry for not writing in ages but been kindof busy since we got home 2 weeks ago. Desole de ne pas avoir ecrit depuis unmoment mais on etait pas mal occupes depuis que l,on est rentrés.

Flew our final leg of the trip on 21st April from Buenos Aires to London Heathrowarriving on 22nd and caught a connecting flight to Dublin 2 hours later. Helen and Yannwere there to meet us with their car! No more taxis, buses or tuk tuks! Went to France 3days later, spent 2 fab weeks there and we,re just back in Galway today and back toreality but it's sunny and warm, 21 degrees! So it,s not so bad. Anyway here are somephotos we didn't get a chance to put up on the site until now. This set is of some realSouth American ( Chilean ) Gauchos ( cowboys) doing their days work in the south ofcentral Chile.

We have a lot more photos to show you, of the magnificent Iguazu Falls in Northern Argentina and from southern Brazil and thebreathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier.

P & F On a fait la derniere escale de notre voyage le 21 avril de Buenos Aires a Londres et puis de Londres a Dublin ou Helen etYann nous attendaient avec leur voiture! Plus de taxis, de bus ou de tuk tuk! On est partis presque aussitot pour la France ouon a passe un super sejour et on est rentres a Galway que ce matin mais il fait beau, 21 degres, alors on ne peut pas trop seplaindre. Voici qqs photos prises au Chili des vrais " Gauchos" ou cowboys regoupant leur troupeaux. Il y a beaucoup d'autresphotos que l'on veut partager avec vous, surtout des chutes d'eau d'Iguazu et du glacier Perito Moreno en Argentine. Alorsrevenez vite sur le site pour les voir.

Hi again, Deleted some old photos, so could make room to squeez in a few of Argentina. Hope

you like them. Flew from Santiago to Buenos Aires last Saturday via The magnificentAndes! Spent a couple of days in Buenos Aires where we saw several street tangoperformances. Just arrived in Puerto de Iguazu after a 20hr bus ride! It´s far north andthe town next to the world´s widest waterfalls which we´re off to see bright and early inthe morning. We are only 30 minutes from the border with Brazil so we´re going popover to check it out tomorrow afternoon. Wanted to spend a week or more down south atUshuaia and Tierra del Fuego but flights were booked solid til Saturday week so we´llonly get to spend 4 days down there and 2 days at Moreno glacier ( apparently hugechunks of ice can be seen regularly breaking off and crashing into the sea!) Sad to beending our trip so soon ( in less than two weeks now!) but really looking forward to seeing you all.

Fred's 30th Birthday in Christchurch New Zealand! 2006-03-24

We celebrated Fred's 30th Birthday yesterday with a trip to a fudge factory (yum) and a meal out

in a belgian bar/restaurant followed by a drink in a very lively local bar. When we got back to thehostel I surprised Fred with an ice-cream cake with 30 yellow and blue candles ( The Clarecolours, of course) and there was a spontaneous Happy Birthday sung by 3 Japanese guys, aGerman girl and some English backpackers, not bad! We're off to Chile in the morning. Talk soon.

Green Island snorkelling, Great Barrier Reef, Australia 2006-03-24

here are some underwater photos we only just got developed. we took the first lot on ourlast trip to the Great Barrier Reef back in the beginning of Feb. We had a fantastic day,weather was gorgeous, water was crystal clear and the fish were amazing. The rest areof our Dolphin Swimming trip earlier this week. It was soooooo cool!

Abel Tasman 2006-03-24

Abel Tasman is a beautiful National Park in the far north of the south Island of New Zealand. It isonly accessible by water or on foot. We took a water taxi ( speed boat) half way up the 2 daywalking track and walked down to the entrance (4 hrs walk through beautiful native forest andcoastal track) one of the hightlights of our trip to NZ :)

Hey there everyone, Been having an amazing time over the last few weeks. Went swimming with Dusky Dolphins yesterday. The most amazing

experience ever! There were hundreds of them swimming, jumping, diving and even doing pirouettes all around us. Whatamazing creatures! They'd swim past you and then come back to check you out! As I swam around in a circle one of themswam around me looking me straight in the eye and going faster and faster as if he wanted to play! It was really something else.Have uploaded the photos ( took ages!) and have some cool underwater photos too ( will make them active on site tomorrow,promise) Anyway take care everyone and see you all when we get back in just over a month.

We climbed a Glacier! 2006-03-14

Hi everyone/Salut tout le monde, Just a brief update while waiting to upload our next set of photos/ juste un petit mot pour vous mettre au courant de notre

voyage en attendant les prochaines photos. Since our last message we,ve been having an amazing time, this place just getsbetter and better/ depuis le dernier message on s'amuse tres bien, ce pays nous etonne de plus en plus. One of the mostamazing things we,ve done so far on this trip was climbing Franz Joseph Glacier last week! It was unreal. We were in a verysmall group, just me, Fred and an English girl and the guide, a really nice Dutch guy called Joost. We walked 2/3 kms to the footof the glacier( the view even from there was breathtaking) then we put on our crampons( spiked frames for our shoes) andcommenced the climb. It was pretty steep and quite scary at times, if you looked down. Having a wall of ice in front of you wasjust unbeliveable and even more unbelievable was the fact that we were gradually going up it! There are some steps cut into theice fresh every day by the hardworking team at the Guiding company and we heaved ourselves up steps and hills for over 2hours. The view when we got to our destination was amazing. There were also some drops, crevices and holes and one of themwas big enough to crawl through ( have a photo of that one , I'll put up a.s.a.p) We had a very sunny clear day for it which wasvery luck as the weather here in the south island is very unpredictable.Speaking of which, I had a lovely tan ( for the first time inmy life!) which is fading fast here, so unless we get some fab weather in Chile and Argentina you'll just have to take my word forit! Speak soon. P.S Happy PAddy's Day. Une des choses les plus etonnantes que l'on a fait pendant ce voyage etait l'accensiondu Franz Joseph Glacier, vraiment magnifique! On etait que 4 avec le guide et on a marche sur le glacier pendant 2 heures (dur mais incroyable) Il ya avait qq cavernes dont une ou on a pu entrer a 4 pattes ( la photo va suivre tres bientot) Il faisait tresbeau, etonnant vu que le temps change assez rapidemment ici ( D'ailleurs on etait bien bronzes depuis l' Australie mais ca s'enva tres vite, alors il ne restera que les photos comme preuve que j'etais bronzee une fois dans ma vie !)

Hi everyone, Landed in Lord of the Rings country last Saturday. Spent 3days sleeping ( had a very fun-packed busy last 2 weeks in Oz)

picking up hire car in an hour ( Dad, guess what...it's a Nissan Micra!). Put some photos up from those amazing last two weeksin Oz. Will put up more a.s.a.p. Major pain in the neck ...we can't send texts from NZ (apparently only pay monthly customerscan do that) we can get them though, so we're not ignoring you, we just cam't text back. P.S Went for my first ever Scube dive today... Very strange at first braething under water for nearly an hour but wow I,m

addicted.When can I get back down there? Saw a white tip reef SHARK, a turtle, an eel, two giant clams and hundreds of multi-coloured fish. Mary, Sorry didn't find Nemo or Dori but her cousins were pretty cool! Fred went snorkling and loved it, he got tohold a beautiful midnight blue star fish!

Hey there everyone, hope you're all keeping well. Haven't been in touch in a while, been keeping pretty busy. Since last updatedsite we,ve had adventurous days in Fraser island. We went in a 4x4 monstrosity of a vehicle with 9 others. Hi guys if you'velogged on to our site. Hope the rest of your travels are going well. Fraser was beautiful but it was tough going. We camped onthe beach, had to bring a shovel when going to the "loo" and had a pretty bumpy ride over the dirt tracks and deep sand but itwas definitely worth it. We even managed to spot a wild dingo and two of them apparently came into our camp one night whenmost of us were asleep. Visited the emerald green Lake Wabby where I swam with the turtles and fish, the latter of which keptnibbling my toes! It was very hot when we were there. 30 degrees at 7.30am and God knows how hot in the middle of the day.So the rainy season up here in Tropical North Queensland is actually a welcome relief. Having some trouble putting photos upon site so I'll keep this message short for the mo and fill you in on the rest of our news once I've sorted the photo problem.Catch ya soon.

Love P & F Coucou tout le monde. Ca va? Ca fait un moment que l'on n'a pas donne des nouvelles. On etait pas mal occupes. Depuis la

derniere fois on a fait la magnifique ile de Fraser et les iles de Whitsundays. Fraser etait une grande aventure. 3 jours sur l'iledans un 4x4 avec 9 autres personnes. On a fait du camping sauvage sur la plage. Oblige d'emmener une pelle pour aller " auxtoilettes" on a vu un dingo (chien sauvage ) et ona nage dans le lac vert, Lake Wabby ou il y avait des tortues et des poissonsqui me mordaient les pieds! Il faisait tres chaud qu'on etait la, 30 degres a 7hr du matin et je n'imagine meme pas a midi! On esta Cairns en ce moment ou c'est la periode des pluies mais c'est pas si mal. Bon on a un probleme pour mettre les photos alorsje vous donnerai le reste de nos nouvelles un peu plus tard. Coucou Tata Jacqueline, Tonton Jean, Isabelle et Laurent et toutela famille. Here are our latest photos. We,ve been here in Brisbane for 5 days. Went to the Lone Pine KoalaSanctuary (Can't get enough of those cute little bears!) Got to hand feed the Roos, their specialfeed and got to hold a Koala ( amazing :) ) Spent a couple of lovely days with Mark and Nicole,thanks again guys for showing us the sights. Mark, you should think of getting a second job as atour guide! Also got into a sheep pen and was licked to death by a lovely collie! Hi all, Hope everyone had a great Christmas & ate loads of mince pies and Christmas pudding. We,ve been having a fantastic time for

the last week. On Friday we went to Canberra, Australia's capital, 4hours drive south of Sydney. We spent Christmas with mygrannys cousin's family. We were made to feel very welcome. Had a yummy Christmas dinner of fresh seafood and saladsoutside in the garden. We went Kangaroo spotting on our first evening and saw dozens of them. They are much bigger in thewild than what you see when you go to the zoo. On St.Stephens Day Karen drove Jean, Lyod, Fred and I up to their house inBlackheath, in the Blue Mountains. We love it here. It's a little cooler than in Sydney and the scenery is amazing. We metKaren's son Rory and his girlfriend Elsa who took us to see Govetts Leap.The view is spectacular. We could easily stay here forthe rest of our trip but sadly we're heading up the coast on Friday to spend New Years Eve in Port Macquaire with some cuteand cuddly Koala Bears. Chat soon.

Anyway here's our latest : just back in Hanoi from 3 days in Ha Long Bay, absolutely amazing place. Took a slow boat ( about 6hours ) out to Cat Ba island passing thousands of green-covered standing stones ( they're like small square-shaped mountains)very hard to describe in words but a real awe inspiring site. Met some lovely people aussies, belgians and dutch. It's a shamethey are only fleeting moments. The second day on Cat Ba island was a little hairy! We set out at 8am for a 2km trek throughthe national park but it actually turned out to be a 6km hike uphill on an unofficial path (that wasn't even a path!) we were right inthe midst of this lush forest with an amazing view from the top but we were so wrecked couln't enjoy it properly. Some people inthe group complained as it was very challenging and we hadn't been warned. Some people were wearing sandals! Thank Godwe were well equipped but I tell you our legs are pretty sore today! Well that's all for the mo. Desole que c'est encore en anglaismais apres la journee qu l'on s'est tape hier je suis trop naz pour expliquer ca en francais alors sortez vos dicos!

Coucou Ca fait trois jours que l'on est a Ko Phan Nang un Ile dans le sud est de Thailande, on reste dans la cote nord est de ile dansSunview Bungalows. En fait se sont des cabanes en bois sur la plage, dans notre porche on a un hammac. Les gens sont super cool. Onmange bien et pour pas cher 1 euro en general pour un repas. On paye 250baht la nuit a deux pour la cabane ca fait 5 euro a deux! onaimerait rester plus longtemps mais on part dans 3 jours pour le Vietnam. Hey everyone This place is mad! Traffic everywhere. People very nice. Not too hot about 29 degrees and cloudy and a little humid. Bookedtrain to Ko phan Nang leaving Sunday night.
