Revit BasicsSTEP 1: open your Class-02 Revit fi le _ from the Project Browser double-click on Level 2 _ from the ribbon under the Home tab click on Floor
STEP 2: from the ribbon under the Draw panel click on Rectangle _ trace the mezzanine level slab using 3 rectangles as shown in image 2 _ click on the green check mark to fi nish the fl oor boundary
STEP 3: type shortcut MV (move) _ move the mezzanine fl oor 200’ up to align with the fi rst fl oor plan
STEP 4: from the Project Browser double-click on Level 1 _ type shortcut WA (wall) _ set the type of wall to Curtain Wall Storefront _ draw a curtain wall in-between the two east walls from column to column _ (note: type shortcut TL to set the viewport to display all thin lines)
save the Revit fi le in your Class-03 folder as:your initials-class-03.rvt

STEP 5: make sure the glass faces toward the outside of the building _ align the glass with the outside edge of the east walls (note: with the curtain wall selected there is a purple double arrow button & by clicking it you can change the wall’s orientation)
STEP 6: switch to the 3D View _ select the Curtain Wall _ from the Properties panel click on Edit Type _ set the Vertical & Horizontal Grid Pattern = Fixed Number _ click OK
STEP 7: in the properties panel set the Vertical Grid Number = 4 _ set the Horizontal Grid number = 1
STEP 8: from the Project Browser double-click on T/Ext Wall _ from the ribbon under the home tab click on Roof

STEP 9: using a Rectangle draw a roof over the lower bay from column to column _ press esc twice _ select each line one at a time & set the roof pitch = 0 _ click on the green check mark to fi nish _ click No to attach walls to roof
STEP 10: select the roof _ type shortcut DM (draw mirror axis) _ draw a mirror axis from the Midpoint of the mezzanine
STEP 11: (now we can make the sloped roof in the middle) _ from the ribbon under the home tab click on Roof _ using a Rectangle draw a roof over the middle bay _ press esc twice
STEP 12: using the tab key select the entire Rectangle _ from the options bar Un-check Defi nes Slope _ from the ribbon click on Slope Arrow
