The Three Schools of Feng Shui
• The Form School is all about external environmental Chi. It is used to collect this beneficial environmental energy in front of the building and to encourage it to enter. It deals with deflecting and dispersing negative environmental energy.
• The Compass School harmonises the external Chi with the internal Chi of the individual person.
• The Flying Star School shows the luck of the building over time.

Introduction to the Flying Star School
• The Flying Star school of Feng Shui is the most powerful of the three schools.
• It is the time dimension of Feng Shui.• It can be used to determine the luck of a building
over 20 year, 1 year and monthly periods.• It is the main technique used by the Grand Masters of
Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.• It is based on the Lo Shu square, the characteristics
of the trigrams, the cycles of the elements and the compass direction accurate to within 15 degrees.
• It is not Compass School, which gives your personal directions and auspicious locations. It does not completely override these recommendations.
• For successful Feng Shui practice you should use all three schools and balance the recommendations.

Early Heaven Ba Gua
• The Early Heaven Ba Gua was devised by Fu Hsi and represents the heavenly arrangement of cosmic forces. It is used as a protective device – as a Ba Gua mirror. It is the basis of Yin Flying Star Feng Shui, which deals with the placement of grave sites.

Later Heaven Ba Gua
• The later heaven Ba Gua was devised by King Wen and is more relevant to an earthly arrangement of the cosmic forces. So this is the one that we use today as the basis of Flying Star for Yang dwellings – the houses of the living.
