General Guidelines for PENTAHO

ReportsIn general, the following guidelines will apply when setting conditions on

the PENTAHO reporting screen:

1. Set the Fiscal Year dropdown box to the desired Fiscal Year

2. Choose whether to include students from either Restricted or

Unrestricted Sources by selecting Yes, No or All Funds from the

drop-down box (if applicable)

3. Select the specific timeframe for the report; Quarterly, 1st or 2nd

half of the Year or Cumulative (if applicable)

4. Reports like the NRS Performance Report will have the

Attendance Hour (AH) filter pre-selected to Yes

5. Select the Output Type (PDF will typically be the most printable

format, but Excel will be useful for data manipulation)

6. Click View Report to launch the report using the conditions

outlined.

Please note that PENTAHO will

“refresh” after each condition of the

report is chosen – you may see the

screen flicker briefly after choosing from

the dropdown options.

Enrollment Reports

For Enrollment Reports due at the 2nd and 4th

quarters, the following options will be presented:

Fiscal Year, Quarter (1st or 2nd half of year), Funding

Source, and Output Type (as pictured).

conditions will be identical to the layout and

format of traditional DAISI enrollment reports.

Master List ReportsMaster List Reports will require many of the same

inputs as the enrollment report, with the addition

of an option to select cumulative or quarterly data.

By selecting the appropriate Quarter and “True” for

cumulative or “False” for the independent quarter selected,

either Quarterly or Cumulative reports can be run from the

control screen.

Program Status Reports

Program Status Reports are produced in the same

manner as the Master List report, with the Quarter,

Funding Restricted (Yes or No) and Output Type

elements available in the drop-down boxes.

Program Status ReportThe report layout is identical to the format in

DAISI. It is 6 pages, organized in the same manner.

NRS Performance ReportThe NRS Performance Report uses the same parameters

as the Program Status Report with the additional options

of applying the Attendance Hour Filter (AH Filter)

and/or choosing between Restricted and Unrestricted

fund sources in the report.

Instructor – Summary Outcomes

Report

This report provides detailed information about instructors that have one

or more classes in the current fiscal year, the total number of students

working with the instructor, even if they had no pre-test (i.e. FL GED or

VOC students), the student Persistence Rate and Professional

Development hours earned in the fiscal year.

For the NRS Core Performance report, the

After clicking on a sub-group, a new report screen will appear titled “NRS Student Detail”.

The conditions needed to launch the report will be pre-set. Click the View Report button to generate a student list.

Transition and Performance ReportThe Transition and Performance report provides 70+

different student and program data points by presenting

them as a CSV file for use in PivotTable analysis. The

following options will be most frequently used: Fiscal Year,

AH (attendance hour) filter and Output Type.

Once the T & P report is

downloaded, a command

box (pictured) will pop

up to allow the file to be

opened in Excel and

formatted into a

PivotTable.

Transition and Performance ReportAfter the Excel spreadsheet

opens, switch to the Insert

tab and click on PivotTable.

Click on OK to select the

range to be included in the

PivotTable

A separate training on how to use PivotTables to monitor program performance

and student outcomes is available from ICCB. If you would like to learn more,

contact your regional program support person for more information.

Other Static Reports

There are several other Static Reports

available in PENTAHO that are used for

program management.

Many are duplicates of those formerly

found on DAISI, but do not require student

or class searches prior to report launch.
