You can apply for the NoE for OOW (Y) and Master 200gt (Y) / Master 500gt (Y) without having completed ALL the modules
Application is based on Sea Service and TRB (for OOW)
For Master 3000gt (Y) ALL modules need to be completed before application
The CoC will NOT be issued unless ALL certificates & documents are in-date and sighted at the time of CoC being issued.

ECDIS: is now mandatory for issue of OOW (Y), Chief Mate (Y) and Master 500gt & 3000gt (Y) CoCs - Not required for Master 200 gt
EDH: is required to have been completed 18 months before issue of an OOW (Y) CoC will be issued

Training Record Book

The Training Record Book is part of the qualification requirements for Yacht Ratings and OOW (Y) candidates
Exemption given to OOW (Y) candidates who have 1095 (36 months) actual days at sea on vessels over 24 meters
All sections MUST be completed over a minimum of 12 months yacht service

Needs to have the details of the CoC held and position and sample signature

Become familiar with all the tasks and assessments.
Make notes as you go – its YOUR workbook and needs to be used in that way.
Some tasks might not be relevant to your vessel – BUT you MUST research and enter something in each section.
Exemption from “sailing section” if you are not on a “Sailing Yacht”

You can self assess the TRB if you are signed on as the Captain on a vessel, and hold a valid CoC – such as Yachtmaster Offshore or Master 200gt.
You will need to get a letter from the Owner or Managing company confirming your employed position on-board.
You will need to provide a statement to say you are the most qualified crew member on-board.

Yacht Rating Overview
Yacht Rating certificates will allow you to work on yachts of less than 3000GT.To qualify for your certificate:
• Completed the STCW basic safety training• Completed at least 6 months approved sea service
or 2 months sea service if you’ve completed
an MCA-accepted yacht training programme• Completed the YR TRB• Hold a valid medical fitness certificate ENG1 or a
recognised non UK equivalent.
