Section 2: Course Objectives1. Course Behavior Objective:

On completion of this course, the students will be able to:

1.1 Explain the concepts and principles of labor and delivery using the nursing care management; 1.2 Explain the concepts and principles of the newborn care and its management; 1.3 Explain the concepts and principles of post partum period using the nursing care management.

2. Objective of Course Development or Course Improvement:

To better implement the appropriate nursing management of labor and delivery, newborn care and post partal period.

Section 3: Description and Procedure

1. Course Description

Concepts and principles of nursing therapeutics for the mother during post labor, assessment and care of the newborn using the nursing process with emphasis on caring and family participation, within legal limitations and professional code of ethics in order to maintain, promote and protect the physical, psychological, social and spiritual health of individuals, groups, families and communities. 2. 2. The development of learning outcomes on each side

2.1 Ethics and Morale

2.1.1 Learning Outcome of Ethics and Morale

2.1.1.1 Be able to manage the ethical and professional problems by using value judgment, consideration of others feelings, basic values and professional ethics which emphasize on Christian student characters. 2.1.1.2 Express moral and ethical behavior such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, sacrifice and good model.

2.1.1.3 Practice ethics in the chosen profession.

2.1.1.4 Understand others, the world, and public interest.

2.1.1.5 Able to apply temperance toward self.

2.1.1.6 Able to identify or distinguished good works from evil.

2.1.2 Teaching strategies used for developing ethics and morale

2.1.2.1 Establish courses concerning ethics and morale.

2.1.2.2 Teach ethics and let the students learn from real-life situations.

2.1.2.3 Teach through role-plays, group discussions and case studies of real-life situations.

2.1.2.5 Invite special lecturers who have expertise in various topics of Nursing Therapeutics for Mother and Infant II course.

Using a variety of assessment methods, the students will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

2.1.3.1 Evaluate the ethics and moral project; and observe the students behavior by teachers.

2.1.3.2 Evaluate the group projects and reports; evaluate students performance from the supervisor; and evaluate students performance from graduates employer after studying Bachelor of Nursing Science.

2.2 Knowledge

2.2.1 Learning outcomes of knowledge

2.2.1.1 Obtain knowledge in Nursing Therapeutics for Mother and Infant II systematically.

2.2.1.2 Awareness of the principles and theories of concerned knowledge.

2.2.1.3 Understand the advancement of knowledge in Nursing Therapeutics for Mother and

Infant II.

2.2.1.4 Awareness of current researches, which involve in solving problems and enhancing knowledge.

2.2.1.5 Awareness of protocols and regulations depending on changing circumstances.

2.2.2 Teaching strategies used for developing knowledge

2.2.2.1 Give lectures in class using asking-answering question techniques.

2.2.2.2 Assign students to do research on inputs of ethical issues related to Mother and Infant II topics.

2.2.2.3 Present group or individual reports. 2.2.2.4 Assign students to do a role-play of real life situations to strengthen their learning foundation of high risk pregnancies and newborn complications.

3.1.1 Able to search the facts, understand, analyze and evaluate theories and new evidences and then use the result to solve problems and other tasks by themselves.

3.1.2 Able to understand the complex problems and give suggestion with creative ideas by using theoretical knowledge, practical experiences and the affect of decision making.

3.1.3 Able to use skills and comprehend from academic from the academic and professional contents in order to solve problems appropriately.

3.1.4 Able to use cognitive skills in daily life and find new ways to solve the problems properly.

Section 7: Course Evaluation and Course Operation Improvement1. Evaluation Strategies of Course Effectiveness by Students Students will evaluate the questionnaires about the course content and method of teaching at the end of the semester.
