The Prophet Speaks—When the LEADING churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result. {GC 445.1} The beast with two horns "causeth [commands] all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to RECEIVE A MARK IN THEIR RIGHT HAND, OR IN THEIR FOREHEADS: AND THAT NO MAN MIGHT BUY OR SELL, SAVE HE THAT HAD THE MARK, OR THE NAME OF THE BEAST, OR THE NUMBER OF HIS NAME." Revelation 13:16, 17. The third angel's warning is: "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God." "The beast" mentioned in this message, whose worship is enforced by the two-horned beast, is the first, or leopardlike beast of Revelation 13 -- the papacy. The "image to the beast" represents that form of apostate Protestantism which will be developed when the Protestant churches shall seek the aid of the civil power for the enforcement of their dogmas.

Sidebar—It is AMERICA that will give POWER to the IMAGE OF THE BEAST that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be KILLED. Rev 13: 15 This is the last act in the drama and we are approaching this event with exponential speed.

The Prophet Speaks— Satan will work his miracles to deceive; he will set up his power as

supreme. The church may appear as about to fall, BUT it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out--the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place. None but those who have been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony will be found with the LOYAL AND TRUE, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their mouths.... In the last vision given me, I was shown the STARTLING FACT THAT BUT A SMALL PORTION OF THOSE WHO NOW PROFESS THE TRUTH WILL BE SANCTIFIED BY IT AND BE SAVED. . . . The humble, self-sacrificing followers of Jesus will pass on to perfection, leaving behind the indifferent and lovers of the world. {1T 608.3}

WHY DID DESMOND FORD & OTHERS BEGIN TO BELIEVE FALSE DOCTRINE?The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place

among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this

Sidebar—I accepted the three angels’ message in 1975; therefore, when I came into the message, it was already in the corruption stage because the SHIFT began with Ted Heppenstall in 1952.

Ted Heppenstall earned a BA degree at Emmanuel Missionary College(our school) majoring in English Literature and also doing work in science and theology. Then he got a master’s degree from the University of Michigan in History and Semitics. While teaching a La Sierra College,(our school) he earned a PhD degree in the field of Religious Education from the University of Southern California in 1951. Heppenstall got his master’s and PhD from worldly schools and came back into our school. That worldly education rendered him incapable of teaching the “THE THREE ANGEL’S MESSAGE—IMPOSSIBLE!

At what a price have they gained their education! They have parted with the Holy Spirit of God. DESMOND FORD10) WHAT DO ADVENTIST SCHOLARS SAY ABOUT THE BIBLE AND THE

ADVENTIST UNDERSTANDING OF DANIEL 8:14?

10a. FORD SUMMARY STATEMENT: Desmond Ford was a college teacher for many years within the Adventist church. Here is a general statement by him about Adventist scholarship and the supposed “Investigative Judgment” of Daniel 8:14: Many Adventist scholars have long held that Daniel 8:14 does not teach an Investigative Judgment. Their view was rejected because it seem to contradict Ellen White. It is well nigh certain that had Ellen White not endorsed the doctrine, it would have been surrendered long ago. In practical terms, it has been surrendered. Surrendered, not only by Adventist scholars in this country, but also around the world, and by much of European Adventism. As a local example, belief in 1844 and Investigative Judgment is not considered mandatory for baptism in Germany.

Sidebar—What it boils down to is whether we’re gonna believe these scholars or whether we’re gonna believe the Word of God and the Prophet. Ecclesiastes 12: 14—For God shall bring every work into

judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.

Heppenstall was the most influential scholar to come out against M. L. Andreasen’s final generation theology. He opposed Andreasen’s form of historic Adventism on such issues as the human nature of Christ and the ATONEMENT. He emphasized, as did Questions on Doctrine, the atonement on the cross with a continuing ministry in heaven in the antitypical Day of Atonement. Beyond that, he stressed such teachings as the helplessness of human beings to do good of their own selves—TRUE, justification by faith in relation to the entire plan of salvation,--TRUE, then, this is where he messed up—he stressed the impossibility of humanly achieving what some people think of as sinless perfection. This is messed up because we can/MUST reach perfection by the power of the INDWELLING CHRIST either before we die or before the National Sunday Law. GOD CAN DO THIS FOR US IF WE ALLOW HIM!Sidebar—We must be sinless before we can receive the SEAL OF GOD, then, we’ll be qualified to receive the LATTER RAIN which will empower us to give the LOUD CRY!

Heppenstall’s theology was definitely a more cross-centered, Christ-centered, evangelical form of theology. This plainly shows up in Heppenstall’s understanding of character perfection. Far from ideas of sinlessness, perfectionism, the teaching that people must get to the place where they can stand without Christ, and other ideas set forth by Andreasen, he argued that nowhere does the Bible equate perfection with sinlessness when speaking of the child of God. And that salvation by grace means being shaken loose from the folly of implanting our ego at the center of the plan of salvation with the belief that we must arrive at sinless perfection to be sure of salvation.

For thousands of years Satan has been experimenting upon the properties of the human mind, and he has learned to know it well. By his subtle workings

Kenneth Samples who worked with W. Martin did

a1987 SURVEY OF 68 SDA PASTORS asking about

the “Sanctuary Message”. . .that the doctrine {the Adventist Sanctuary doctrine} had no biblical

warrant, and was only accepted because of Ellen G. White. 37 (54%) disagree; 15 (22%) agree; 12 (18%) neutral; 1“Qualified”; 1“?”; 2 blank. Only 54% disagree with the statement with the rest either agreeing (and this was Ford’s contention) or remaining neutral or non responsive. Response to this statement could indicate that the points Ford made are widely accepted. Results from a survey taken before and after the Glacier View Sanctuary Review Committee meeting indicate that between a fourth and a third of the participants, including administrators, scholars and other religious leaders AGREED WITH FORD’S VIEWS.

Sidebar—Remember now, 1987 is 8 yrs after Desmond Ford was defrocked from the SDA church.

Sidebar—This survey was taken in 1987; it is now 2014; if many of the pastors in the year 1987 responded with views contrary to that of the pioneers in regards to the Sanctuary message then, the question is, what in the world would be the response of the pastors of today? I SHUTTER TO THINK!! Remember now, there were 180 pastors who left the SDA church holding the same views on the Sanctuary as did Desmond Ford; however, the majority remained in the church, at Ford’s suggestion, for the purpose of changing the church’s view on matters of the Sanctuary etc.

attended Vatican ii. “First, the friendliness of the welcome. You see, I’ve been there several times, that is, to Rome. Always a sort of an iciness there, but NOT ANY MORE, NOT ANY MORE! And it was evident in so many ways. For instance, in the giving of these press passes, Brother Loewen was there from Religious Liberty, Brother Cottrell from the Review and Herald. Brother Beach was there from northern Europe, and I (Arthur Maxwell) was there from the Signs, and provided you had a good reason for asking for a pass, you got it. If you were an editor or a correspondent for a real newspaper, they gave the pass, and they gave them to people of all faiths. Here, four Adventists got these passes. I thought you would like to see mine. It’s the only document I have which has the crossed keys and the triple crown on it. I have to be careful when I show this. I don’t want anybody to think I’m going over to the Church of Rome. But it is a very nice little pass, and it was very valuable. This little pass got me anywhere I wanted to go at the time of the council.”

The reason I know he was forty feet away, I stepped it out after the service was over, because I thought, “Nobody will ever believe me, that I sat so long, so near to His Holiness. ’But I had a wonderful view and I saw some most fascination close-up views which I won’t tell you now, but I would tell some of you privately-some very, very interesting little human details, which you see only when you’re very close.’”

Maxwell followed this with some advice to ministers, and telling what he had already done. He said: “Now, there’s one other thing. These things are going to make us think, they really are—this new situation. I think that a lot of our preachers are going to have to throw away a lot of old sermons. You and me—a lot of old sermons. I scrapped a lot of them already. You know what I think is going to happen? We cannot go on preaching about these dear people like we did thirty, forty, fifty years ago. We simply can’t do it. If Jesus went to the Holy Place in 31AD, there’s no 2300 day prophecy, no 538—1798, no INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT. This celebration type music that Satan has brought into God’s church is preparing God’s people to BOW DOWN to the SUNDAY SABBATH to worship the SUN! That’s the reason the prophet says the church will look as if it’s about to FALL yet it will NOT FALL.
