ombré “bobble” blend
“Ombré” remains one of the most-searched haircolor terms online, and many clients still request the gradated effect. This technique from the pros at invisibobble offers a smart application shortcut—all you need to proceed are the color formulas of your choice, and eight flexible, stretchy, no-crease invisibobble hair holders. For a subtle end result, select shades no more than one or two levels lighter or darker than the base. Increase the differentiation for a high-contrast ombré effect.
color 1. Divide the hair into two sections with a
zigzag parting.
2. Use another zigzag parting to section the hair into quadrants.
3. Apply the darkest color formula to the top sections of the hair. Brush the color downward and secure the section with an invisibobble at the point where the application stops.
4. Repeat on all four sections.
5. Apply a second invisibobble a few inches below the first on each section. Grasp a small subsection and push the bottom tie upward, forcing the hair to gather between the two ties.
6. Apply the lighter color formula to the hair below the lowest invisibobble.
7. Repeat on all sections.
8. Process, rinse, shampoo, condition and style the hair.
