Humble Beginnings Originally known as Rock Hall Crossroads, this quaint fishing town had humble beginnings with a history as old as the United States. First as an important tobacco port and later as a major fishing and crabbing center, Rock Hall has become a unique destination for visitors who enjoy boating, RV-ing and wildlife in its natural environment. This picturesque community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland allows you to escape the frantic pace of metropolitan life - just a short distance away. Whether visiting for a day, a week or a season, you are welcome to relax, explore and enjoy the Chesapeake Bay. Recreation at its Best Rock Hall and its surrounding areas are perfect for outdoor recreation. With an extensive fleet of charter boats, you can catch dinner or order fresh seafood at local restaurants. For those who simply want to be on the water, both sail and power boats are available to cruise the open Bay. Located right on the Chesapeake Bay, Rock Hall is the ideal port for pleasure boaters. Directions to Rock HallFrom Baltimore and Washington, D.C.: Cross Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Route 50 East. Take 301 North to Route 213 North through Centerville and Chestertown. At Route 291 (Morgnec Road intersec-tion) turn left and turn right at “circle” junction onto Route 20 South. Approx. 12 miles to Rock Hall.

From Wilmington/Philadelphia/New York: Take I-95 South to Route 1 South or Route 896 South to Middletown, DE and on to Route 301 South. Take the Chestertown/Galena exit onto Route 290 South. Go straight thru the stop light in Galena where the road becomes Route 213 South. Turn right onto Route 298. Stay on Route 298 until it merges into Route 20 South. Travel seven more miles to Rock Hall.
