IOU FOUNDATION: AREAS OF
STUDY THROUGH DISTRIBUTED
EDUCATION
A SPECIALTY UNIVERSITY
As a specialty university with a highly defined niche in the world, the Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF) has the privilege of meeting some of the most impressive people on our planet.
OUR LEARNERS
Our learners are folks who are both highly intelligent and also very aware of the social implications of their studies.
SOCIAL AGENTS
They believe they have an obligation to share
knowledge with integrity as they work to uplift the communities in
which they serve.
WORKING TOGETHER
They place a high value on collaboration.
AREAS OF STUDY
In their scholarship with IOUF, our learners generally focus on one of the following areas of study:
AnthropologyComparative Religious StudiesDevelopmental StudiesEconomicsEducationEnvironmental StudiesHealth Sciences ( as well as Alternative Medicine and Oriental Medicine)HistoryInternational Business ManagementLiterature
Oriental MedicinePeace Studies and Conflict ResolutionPhilosophy (Eastern & Western, Ancient or Contemporary)Political SciencePsychologyReligion Social ChangeSocial Sciences andSymbolic Studies (Analysis of Art and Myth)
INDIVIDUALIZED STUDY PROGRAM
IOU Foundation is open to well-formulated plans in almost any discipline, however, and each learner works with their faculty mentor to create an individualized curriculum and study program.
FLEXIBILITY
They learn at their own pace and complete their degree program in a way that allows them to continue their existing commitments to their work and families.
FLEXIBILITY
At 10,000 Euros, the cost of earning a degree through the IOUF costs substantially less than it does at traditional “bricks and mortar” institutions
$
E-LEARNING
All aspects of the program are conducted online and IOU Foundation is pleased to be recognized as a leader in the
field of e-learning.
RESPONSIBILITY
Because the IOU Foundation PhD degree programs are
customized for each learner in our program, our
candidates assume a great deal of responsibility for
their own learning.
DISTANCE EDUCATION
This also means our learners can choose a field of study that would not be available otherwise, either because other universities lack that degree of flexibility or because they require a learner's physical presence on a campus which is too far away.
INTERDISCIPLINARY DEGREES
Our program also allows for inter-disciplinary degrees, such as the combination of Anthropology and Sociology, Education and Psychology, or Political Science and Peace Studies.
REQUIREMENTS
A Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required before learners can start their PhD program at IOU Foundation, and applicants should also have background skills that are appropriate for the degree plan they expect to follow.
ENROLLMENT
Once graduate transcripts are received, the enrollment process can begin!
