1. Getting  started    

1.1  First  login  

After  first  install  iPassSafe,  first  login  password  is  0000

Note:    Sometimes  after  first  install  (before  entering  data)  password  0000  not  working    (due  to  bad  communication  with  appStore    during  download)  ,  in  such  case  please  delete  app  from  your  device  and  re-­‐install  it  from  appStore  (it  will  be  free  of  pay)  ,  than  use  0000  again  to  login.

1.2  Changing  password  

  After  login,  Tap  bottom  “settings”  tab,  and  scroll  to  “Security/change  password”

Please  use  strong  password  to  secure  your  data,  you  can  use  numbers  only,  or  numbers  &  letters  (recommended)

In  case  you  want  to  use  password  of  numbers  &  letters,  you  can  set  login  keyboard  to  start  with  keyboard  panel  (letters  &  numbers)    instead  of  default  keyboard  which  starts  with  numbers  only.  For  that  tap  bottom  “settings”  scroll  down  to  “General/Login  start  with  keyboard”

Login  Password  issues  :  

-­‐ What  will  happen  if  I  forgetting  the  password?    

No  way  to  recover  information  without  password  since  all  data  encrypted  using  password,  and  your  password  is  not  saved  in  database  or  any  server,  without  your  password  actually  no  key  to  start  decryption  process.    Only  way  to  solve  this  is  to  try  remembering  the  password  or  delete  app    (Which  is  deleting  the  information  also)  and  reinstall  it  from  AppStore  and  start  again  with  password  0000  (will  be  free  of  pay)    It  is  recommended  to  write  down  your  password  and  hide  it  in  safe  place  at  home  (not  attached  to  your  device)

2. Favorites  view    

In  this  view  you  see  you’re  passwords  favorites  categories  with  the  amount  of  records  you  stored  in  each  category  (number  with  gray  background)

By  default  you  all  see  all  categories,  if  you  think  a  category  is  not  needed  you  can  hide  it  from  favorites  (it’s  not  doing  delete)  ,  by  tap  upper  right  “edit”  +  (-­‐)  +  (hide/unhide)  ,  you  can  always  return  it  back  by  set  it  to  “unhide”,  once  finish  tap  upper  right  “done”  button.

You  can  also  change  the  rows  order  (alpha-­‐beta  or  any  way  you  want)  by  tap  “edit”  ,  and  hold  right  3  lines  on  the  right  side  of  the  row  up  or  down  as  you  want

3. DropBox  Dropbox  provides  storage  services  over  the  internet  network.  Using  dropbox  servers  you  can  sync  PCs,MACs  ,  iPhones,iPads,iPods  and  many  other  devices.  

once  you  upload  file  from  one  device  to  DropBox  server  ,  all  your  other  PC,MAC  ,  iPhone,iPod,  iPad  or  other  device  that  DropBox  supports  on  your  specific  DropBox  account  will  see  this  file  and  will  have  access  to  read  write  or  modify.  DropBox  currently  gives  a  free  storage  up  to  2GB  (can  pay  and  get  more)  

iPassSafe  use  the  benefits  of  DropBox  to  provide  you  and  option  to  backup  or  synchronize  you  Apple  iOs  devices  (iPod,iPhone,iPad)  

Using  DropBox    stages  

a)  create  DropBox  account    You  can  use  the  following  link  to  create  the  account  https://www.dropbox.com/  ,    Or  more  simple    using  iPassSafe  “Sync”-­‐>”DropBox/Link  DropBox”-­‐>”create  an  acount”

   Enter    your  information  and  tap  top  right  “create”  –  this  will  create  your  account  at  dropbox  and  also  will  link  iPassSafe  to  this  account  automatically        

b) Link  Make  sure  “Dropbox/Link  Dropbox”  is  set  to  “On”    

c) Upload    Tapping  this  will  cause  all  iPassSafe  double  encrypted  AES-­‐256  files  will  be  uploaded  to  your  DropBox  account  If  you  see  your  DropBox  drive  ,  you  will  findout  that  after  upload  new  directory  is  created  with  the  name  “iPassSafe”  which  inside  you  can  find  your  database  files    

d) Load  Tapping  this  will  cause  your  database  files  on  dropbox  will  be  downloaded  to  your  iPassSafe  App.

You  can  use  Load  when  you  want  to  recover  your  passwords  if  for  example  you  deleted  iPassSafe  APP  ,  or  have  new  iPhone,  once  iPassSafe  is  installed  ,  and  you  liked  it  to  your  DropBox  account  ,  just  tap  “load”  and  all  your  password  will  appear  in  your  new  device  You  can  use  this  also  to  send  updates  from  your  iPhone  to  your  iPad  which  are  connected  to  the  same  DropBox  account    

Important:  Database  Activation    

Once  you  load  files  from  DropBox  ,  in  order  to  see  the  encrypted  information  ,  you  must  

Do  Database  Activation  and  provide  the  encrypted  database  Password.  Otherwise  you  will  be  be  able  to  see  or  access  the  information  

You  should  do  it  by  select  the  database  (you  might  have  many  one  for  person)  ,  tap  the  right  arrow  on  “Activated  selected  file”  ,  and  provide  the  database  encryption  password

3.1 How  to  copy  data  from  iPassSafe  Free  to  iPassSafe  paid    Step  1:    on  iPassSafe  free  app  bottom  “Sync”  ,  scroll  to  “Dropbox/Link  Dropbox”  set  it  to  on  (you  will  be  requested  to  enter  your  Dropbox  user  &  password,  or  create  such)

Step  2:    Free  App  :  upload  idb  (iPassSafe  encrypted  database  file)  from  your  iPhone/iPad  to  your  private  dropbox  cloud  account,  for  that  tap  “upload  All”  ,  you  will  see  progress  (figure  8)

Once  finished  (see  ‘V’  sign)  ,  a  folder  name  “iPassSafe  will  be  created  in  your  dropbox  use  account  with  *.idb  file  of  your  encrypted  data.  

You  can  verify  this  by  installing  “dropbox”  free  iphone/ipad  app  from  the  appStore    and  see  files  on  your  dropbox  ,  or  on  your  pc/mac  if  you  download  and  install  dropbox  software  (download  from  www.dropbox.com)

Step  3:  Link  your  paid  app  to  your  dropbox  account.    

 Open  your  paid  app  ,  tap  bottom  “Sync”,  scroll  to  “dropbox/Link  Dropbox”    enter  same  dropbox  user  &  password    as  step  1  (Figure  7)  

 

Step  4:  Load  idb  file  from  dropbox  to  your  paid  iPassSafe  App  Open  your  paid  app  ,  tap  bottom  “Sync”,  scroll  to  “dropbox/load”    move  “Load  “to  “ON”  (Figure  7)  ,  wait  until  progress  percent  count  is  finished.  

Step  5:  Activate  loaded  database  on  your  paid  App

Step  6:    password  activated  the  loaded  file  

Fill  the  password  and  tap  “Activate  Database”  button

You  should  get  success  message  and  see  your  free  iPassSafe  app  data  on  your  Paid  iPassSafe  App.  

 

4. How  to  copy  data  from  iPhone  iPassSafe  to  your  iPad  iPassSafe  ?  

 

Use  same  instructions  as  in  section  3.1  with  iPhone  as  “free  app  “,  and  “iPad  “as  “Paid  app”

5. One-­‐Click  to  web  site  configuration  iPassSafe  got  build  in  WebBrowser  that  you  can  use  for  browsing  your  webs  site  with  ,  spcail  iPassSafe  featre  is  to  do  the  login  for  you  in  a  single  click  ,  without  any  need  to  enter  username  ,  ,  password  ,  ID  number  or  others  ,  it  also  cover  cases  where  there  are  more  typical  2  such  fields  to  enter  (some  times  some  web  sites  got  3  or  more  fields  to  need  to  fill  in  order  to  do  the  login/signin)  

configuring  site  to  login  with  single  click  

using  “favorites”  bottom  left  tab  select  “Web  Sites”  with  Safari  Icon

Tap  the  upper  left  “+”  sign  ,  and  add  “title”  which  is  the  text  that  will  be  display  for  you  on  the  list  of  the  web  site  ,  for  this  selected  site.  

URL  is  the  web  address  for  your  web  site  ,  you  can  add  or  not  ,  if  you  add  it  can  be  used  for  two  things    

a) Option  go  open  page  out  side  of  the  iPassSafe  using  device’s  Safari  browser  by  tap  this  URL  arrow  icon  (you  can  enable  or  disable  this  option  in  setting)  

b) Direct  the  auto  learn  built  in  browser  to  start  learn  login  parameters  from  this  address  (if  not  enterer  it  will  go  to  Google  Search  Engine)  

User  Name  &  Password  are  fields  you  fill  to  rememeber  you  incase  you  need  to  copy  or  see  (not  part  of  the  on-­‐click  login)  

Auto  Login  –  you  should  see  text  “Auto  Login:  Not  Set”  means  yet  not  configured  on  click  option  for  your  site

Once  you  tap  “Not  Set”  you  will  see  webview  setup  to  configure  your  one-­‐click  login  

 

 

 

You  should  browse  to  your  desired  web  site  and  do  the  following  

a) When  you  see  the  WebSite  Icon  on  the  top  right  screen  tap  “Save  Icon”  –  this  is  optional  feature  gives  you  nice  visible  icon  to  fast  locate  it  in  the  web  site  list  

b) Enter  your  User  Name  and  password  in  the  Web  Page  Site  (i.e  for  this  figure  example  “bluewaterspring”  and  the  password)  

c) Tap  the  top  left  button  “Press  Before  ‘Login’”    see  it  changes  to  “waiting  your  click”

d) Tap  the  “sign  in”  in  the  web  page  to  do  first  login  to  your  selected  site  e) Wait  to  see  the  top  left  button  check  it  text  to  “forget  login  info”  –  but  don’t  press  it  

again  (it  used  if  you  want  to  make  iPassSafe  forget  your  login  parameters)  

 

 

Now  to  use  it  all  you  need  is  to  go  back  to  “Favorites”-­‐>”web  Sites”  ,  see  the  web  site  you  added  and  tap  the  Icon  of  the  web  site  to  go  automaticaly  in  ,  or  tap  the  arrow  on  the  right  to  change  or  add  parameter  to  this  site
