said that "the wine from the area of Lake Skadar prevents aging,

prolongs life, heals the wounds of body and heart". With the

Mediterranean climate and 240 sunny days per year, the Nature

has offered the opportunity, and the Company "13. jul Plantaze"

used it: in once rocky and waste soil of Cemovsko Field the biggest

and the most beautiful vineyard in one complex in Europe has

emerged, occupying over 2,310 hectares with 11.5 million vines.

Owing to exceptional climate, soil structure and favourable position,

the autochthonous but also the well-known world vine varieties

have been growing here successfully. The recognisable wine flavour

is associated with the stones of Cemovsko Field, the Mediterranean

sun and the water of Lake Skadar, adjacent to the vineyard.

Montenegro A small country of great wines

things. The Adriatic Sea with its marvellous beaches, the River

Tara with the deepest canyon in Europe, the Bay of Boka Kotorska,

one of the most beautiful bays in the world and Lake Skadar, the

biggest lake in the Balkans, are all situated in a small space.

The tradition of viticulture in Montenegro dates from the second

century BC. The great Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius once

Krstač has been cultivated on the microlocality of Cemovsko

Field called "Nikolj Crkva", and all attempts to transfer it to different

location have been futile.

Top-level white wine, bordering on

the Mediterranean and the Con-

tinental type-wine, of the bright

golden yellow colour with greenish

reflection and nicely distinguished

peach and pear flavour. The light

in structure makes it drinkable

and fresh in taste. Krstač is an

autochtone cultivar that has been

grown in Montenegrian vinyards

for a long time. It has characteristic

berry size and cross-shaped clus-

ters, which is reflected in its name.

Top-quality white dry wine of

balanced aroma and flavour. Of

bright greenish-yellow colour. Its

bouquet is typical and recogniz-

able for its fresh fruity aromas

of green apple and pineapple.

Chardonnay of Podgorica, as a

the full-bodied wine type, of a dry,

aromatic and soft flavour.

Barriques are wooden containers with a capacity of 225

l, toasted inside. The wine barrique barrels are standardised and their

dimensions were established in 1858 by the Bordeaux Chamber of

Commerce. "Plantaze" acquire barrique barrels from the leading French

producers ("Nadali", "Radu"). It is a well-known fact that Chardonnay

"likes" oak more than any other white wine.

Chardonnay Barrique is a top-level

dry white wine, of bright yellow

colour, refined by the finest chest-

nut tones. Fruit, vanilla and alcohol

have been perfectly ballanced

within. The wine is fluttering and

drinkable, with the stressed depth

and specific for the region it origi-

nates from. The barrique contain-

ers are made of wood from the

most famous French forests; the

wine ages in barriques for almost

one year and after that it is stored

The researches conducted in Western Europe in

the 1970ies showed that in France, where the consumption of wine

is high, the mortality caused by heart attack is much lower than in

other countries with significantly lower consumption of wine. It has

been found out that red wine has proanthocyanidins, which help in

the prevention of atherosclerosis and heart attack. This phenomenon

is known as "French paradox".

Top-quality wine of dark red colour,

full-bodied and extractive. It has
