Alarm in/out control function. On the IE interface, you can set the corresponding input and output functions, such as: receiving the alarm input signal can send a message can post an e-mail or capture pictures.
The items below describe the primary functions and the general principle of intelligence PTZ cameras. They may not refer to the particular operation methods of your device. A different system may have different operation methods.
4.2 Camera ID There is two eight-position dial switches SW1 and SW2 inside the PTZ housing, and SW2 is for setting
communication baud rate and controlling protocol. (For detail setting, please refer to DIP switch setting)
Besides the factory protocol (FACTORY), the PTZ is compatible with various popular protocols, such as
PECLO-D, PECLO-P, and customized protocol. See section 6.5 for further information about RS-485.
Any controlling command must base on the physical camera address, and the camera only answers to the
controlling command address which coincides with itself. There are three kinds of camera address:
Common address: Use the camera's switch number to set address 1-8 bits, the address range is 1-254.
Debug address: (Only factory protocol and PELCO can be set) if the camera ID is set 0, the user may select any address to control the PTZ. And there is also an IP address which the camera will respond to commands.
4.3 Auto-run motion Focus/speed proportion pan
When manually adjusting, for far focus situation, the PTZ responds at a high-speed so that touching rocker
slightly may make the picture move rapidly, thus causing the image to lose. To base on humanized design,
the PTZ automatically adjust pan and tilt rotation according to zoom near and far, which make it is
convenient to operate manually to make tracking for the object. In the menu, you may change system
parameter setting proportion pan as ON to run this function.
Auto flip
If the user holds the joystick in the down position, the camera rotates pan 180 degrees. In the menu, you
may set the system parameter setting AUTO FLIP as ON to run this function.
Park action
By the menu “park time” and “park action,” the user may set auto-call preset or run tour, pattern, and scan,
etc. after pointing a few minutes if the PTZ doesn't run any motions.
Power up action
By the menu “power up the action,” after the PTZ powers up or restarts, the user may set auto-resume
movements before power up and auto- call preset or run tour, pattern, and scan, etc.
4.4 Camera Control Magnification control
The user can control “Wide/Tele” to adjust zoom far and near of the image by keyboard controller to obtain
a panoramic image or close view that you need. The PTZ support digital zoom and optical zoom.
Focus control
The system defaults Autofocus. When the lens changes, the camera will auto-adjust focus according to the
center of the image to get a sharp image; the user can also manually focus to get the desired image by
operating keyboard “FAR/NEAR.” When operating keyboard joystick, camera resumes to autofocus.
The camera will be unable to autofocus in the following conditions:
o Target is not the center of the image.
3
o Observation of the target near and far at the same time, cannot be clear at the same time.
o Target is a strong light object, such as neon light, spotlight, etc.
o Target moves too fast.
o Target area such as a wall.
o Target is too dark or vague.
o The target image is too small.
Iris control
The system defaults Auto Iris. The camera can rapidly adjust the size of Iris, through the automatically induct the changing of environment ray, and thus make the brightness of deferent image stable. The user may adjust Iris by controller keyboard “open/close” to get required brightness that you need. The user also can resume auto Iris by joystick operation. When controlling the Iris manually, the PTZ locks current position you manually controlled; when operating joystick, the PTZ resume auto Iris.
Auto backlight compensation
Camera sub-area can carry out auto backlight compensation. Under a strong light background, the camera
will auto compensate light for the darker object and adjust daylight to the bright environment. To avoid
making the image lack fidelity by the back line is too bright, and the object is unable to be recognized
because of darkness, thus gain a clear image.
Auto white balance
The camera can automatically adjust white balance by the alteration of background lightness to reach a pure
color.
Thermal
Positioning units with a thermal part will feature a dual network camera device, and so a thermal image will
be encoded at the same position as the main zoom camera position. There is a minor offset of position due
to the thermal lens having a fixed focal length. This will vary depending on the chosen mm at the time of
purchase.

5. Network Configuration Network Connection brief
All PTZ cameras' factory default IP is 192.168.1.88, be sure you are on the correct network segment for
successful communications. Use static IP addresses for multiple PTZ devices, proper assignment of address
should be performed in advance of devices being physically installed to reduce potential conflicts or network
issues.
Users can modify the PTZ IP address through the quick configuration tool or via a web browser on the device.
5.1 Login Before login the camera, please confirm that the network segment of the camera and local PC is the same.
E.g., the IP address of the camera is 192.168.1.100, so the IP address of the local pc should be 192.168.1.xxx.
The default IP address of the camera is 192.168.1.88, so we should check the IP address of PC in the network segment 192.168.1.xxx or not. Start->Run->CMD, input the command ipconfig -all to verify the IP address of PC, if the IP in the 192.168.1.xxx as follows, so we can access the camera:
5.2 Download ActiveX plugin Run Internet Explorer (IE), enter the default IP address of the PTZ device.
Download and install ActiveX is required before any further steps can be undertaken.
ActiveX installing method:
Download installation will prompt you to run or download. You will be unable to enter the device settings
without the completion of this installation.
For each PC this will only be required once. So, to configure or set several devices, you will install ActiveX on
each PC which involves browser access.

6.5 RS485 Bus Basic Knowledge
Characteristics of RS485 Bus:
The connection of 120Ω termination resistor:
As specified by the RS485 standard, RS485 Bus is of half-duplexed data transmission cables with
characteristic impedance as 120Ω. The maximum load capacity is 32-unit loads (including the main
controller and controlled equipment.)
Transmission distances of RS485 Bus:
When the user selects the 0.56mm(24AWG) twisted pair wires as data transmission cable, the maximum
theoretical transmitting distance is as follows:
If the user selects thinner cables or installs the PTZ in an environment with strong electromagnetic
interference, or connects lots of equipment to the RS485 Bus, the maximum transmitting distance will be
decreased.
Connection and termination resistor
The RS485 standards require a daisy-chain Connection between the equipment. There must be termination
resistors with 120Ω (as Figure 6.6-1). Please refer to Figure 6.6-2 for simple connection. Note: “D” should not
exceed 7M (23feet)
Device terminal 120Ωresistance factory set inside the mounting base; there are two kinds of connection
mode for your option. Method 1, default connection, the jumper cap is in position2&3, this means 120Ω
resistance is not connected.
Inside the camera, the device has a mainboard as below, with a link to the termination of the RS485 bus.
This can be enabled by moving the jumper cap from position 2&3 to position 1&2. Care should be taken if
this feature is required. For normal operation on IP only use there will be no need for the opening of the
device.
