Description:
Component level results from the recently published IPS Amazônia - Social Progress Index for the Brazilian Amazon study (ipsamazonia.org.br). The study, measuring human wellbeing across nine states in the Brazilian Amazon and covering nearly 24 million people, has revealed several areas of striking difference between the Amazon region and the overall state of Brazil. Access to Advanced Education comes in with the fifth largest gap in performance, highlighting a fundamental difference in what type of educational experience those living in the Amazon can hope to achieve in comparison with their Brazilian compatriots.
