ie your boss pays you in tokens that you have to spend in his canteen, Ronsomes have no record of this but Charles Golding in his privately published book 'The Coinage of Suffolk' 1868, on page 93, luckly records the fact that the workmen refused them and they were melted. Ken Jarman, Ipswich member, many years ago, offered me such a token which he stated he had never seen before, I said if you havent seen it I will buy it.The only other specimen known to me is that in the A.S.Gilbert Collection, which I believe the family retain, [I have been noted of one other, which I have not seen], the present specimen turned up on E-Bay in Ipswich, America, hence 3 possibly 4 are recorded [keep looking because Golding also recorded a farthing of which none seems to have survived, The present piece has had a very hard life, a miricale it survived, sold with 2 old tickets, black uneven tone, edge taps, [graining on the edge is just visible] extremely rare, F £40

134 Another rare survivor, a WW II wooden Nazi German, Junkers 52, made in the shed by dad when on leave from the armed forces, many lads had these during this period of austerity, looks to have had a third nose, prop, one wing at sometime has been repaired,'that damn spitfire'. £40
