    A)The scope of work in the above items include:1)The cost of all initial layout of piles and setting out, initial excavation, if any.2)The cost of boring through all types of soils/existing road/pavement,removal of all obstruction like boulders, old foundation concrete by chiseling or any other method as approved by the Engineer-in-Charge.If a bore is abandoned for any reason no payment shall be made for suchincomplete boring and shifting of the equipment's. The cost of filling up of the empty bore, if required. will be borne by contractor

    3)The cost of preparation, circulation and handling of bentonite slurry is included in this rate.4)The cost of disposal of all spoils, bentonite waste to keep the work areaneat.5)The cost of providing temporary liner and its withdrawal, if required below adjoining ground level (irrespective of the R.L. of theadjoining ground level) for vertical piles.

    6)The cost of providing and mixing all ingredients of cement concrete(except reinforcement steel) including admixtures, with batchingplant, transportation, placement of concrete by tremie pipe for therequired lengths of pile including providing cover blocks, stiffeners,handling bars etc. for safe handling of reinforcement cage.

    7) The cost of breaking of pile head not earlier than 3 days after concretingand to remove spoil concrete to bring the pile head to the socketing levelincluding cleaning and arranging the extended reinforcement barsas per drawings.

    8)The cost of working for all leads, lifts, pumping / bailing out of water,labour, material and equipment etc.

    10)The cost of identification, protection and maintenance of existingservices, if any, which in the opinion of Engineer-in-charge are likely to be affected by piling operation incl. temporary shifting of suchservices to facilitate piling job shall also have to be done, if sorequired by the Engineer-in-Charge and the cost for the same asassessed by the Engineer-in-Charge shall be reimbursable.

    11)The contractor has to be made baricadding with G.I. Sheet / steel sheetwith vertical post by suitable section of steel angle/ pipe at minimumheight of 1.5m from the existing road level during the execution of the work. The contractor has to be manage the all traffic safety requirementsduring the execution period.

    12)The cost of all incidentals, labour, material, equipment and worksrequired to execute the job. The item also includes any other incidentalexpenditures for completing the job as per the direction of the engineer-in-charge.

    13)The item includes the cost of testing of all the materials involvedin the execution of the item as per QAP.

    14) Temperory diversion road if any constructed shall be paid seperately asper Non scheduled items.

    B) Mode of Measurement :1) Length of pile shall be measured from cut off level to the tip of the pilecorrect to a cm in case where the pile is terminated.

    2) Reinforcement steel shall be measured & paid separately underrelevant schedule item A 1.4.

    A.1.2 Load test of pilesA.1.2.1 Initial vertical Load testing of test piles as per the specifications duly

    supplemented with IS: 2911 (Part IV) with latest amendments thereto allcomplete. .

    rock, existing footings, removal of boulders, concrete, ballast, stoneetc including protecting the excavated sides, if required, till concreting,bailing out water to keep the area clean and dry during placement of reinforcement and concrete till the concrete sets finally. The itemincludes the cost of disposal of all spoils, dismantled materials,surplus earth for all leads and lifts, and to keep the work area neat andtidy during the work and thereafter. Payment shall be made based onapproved plan dimensions for PCC below pile cap. The cost of backfilling around the pile cap and restoration of road, if required shall beincluded.

    5)The cost of maintenance and protection of existing services, if any which in the opinion of Engineer-in-charge are likely to be affected by any related activities including temporary shifting of such services tofacilitate construction of pile cap work shall also have to be done, if sorequired by the Engineer-in-charge, and the cost for the same as assessedby the Engineer-in-Charge shall be reimbursable.

    B) Mode of Measurement:1) Measurements shall be made for the finished volume of reinforcedcement concrete restricted to volume as per approved drawing (excludingcost of reinforcement steel only). Quantity of concrete of piles, which hasgone into the pile caps shall be deducted. Reinforcement shall bemeasured & paid separately as per item A 1.4.

    A 1.4 Reinforcement: Supply, cutting, bending, with all leads, lifts and depths,fixing in position reinforcement of any diameter, HYSD or TMT as perrelevant BIS specification and drawing in all RCC/PSC works of thisschedule A-1. The rate shall include cost of all material including laps,tying wire, binding wire, cover block, provision of stools, chairs, spacerbars, support bars , labour, transportation, storing and all other incidentalcharges, tools & plants etc complete. Payment shall be made as pertheoretical requirement and no wastage shall be paid. Rate shallinclude all costs.

    A.2.2 Providing and laying reinforced cement concrete for construction of bearing pedestal in M-40 grade concrete using Ordinary Portland Cementof grade 53 , appropriate sand, aggregate, water, admixtures insuitable proportions as per approved mix design (proposed by contractor),inculding placing & fixing of Bearings in position as per drawings(Bearings shall be supplied by IRCON free of Cost at its store at Patna orelsewher in Bihar, the contractor has to transport the same to the worksite from IRCONs Store at its own cost) the as per approved drawingssupplied by the Engineer-in-charge, including all types of shuttering,staging, centering scaffolding, necessary tools, plants, machinery, and allrelated operations as required to complete the work with all leads, lifts anddepths true to line, level and position all complete (excluding the cost of reinforcement steel, which will be paid as per item number A 2.5).

    B) Mode of Measurement :1) The expansion joints shall be measured in running meters. Thelength payable is the actual length provided at site including vertical partsof kerbs / crash barriers, footpath etc.

    A.3.6 Drainage System: Providing and laying G.I drain pipes, spouts, GI steelgratings over formed holes in deck slab, fixing 100 mm dia G.I runner pipesand 100 mm dia G I downtake pipes of approved quality at every pier etc.as per approved drawings including bends, collars, clamps, fasteners,threading etc., complete.

    A 3.7 Reinforcement: Supply, cutting, Bending, fixing in positionreinforcement of any diameter, HYSD or TMT as per relevant BISspecification and drawing in all RCC/PSC works of this schedule A-3.
