The Award Scheme is organised to enable the Society to acknowledge construction achievements in which concrete, in any form, contributes significantly to the built environment. Entries relating to the contribution made by concrete to any aspect of building, civil engineering, architecture, art, or landscaping will be accepted by the Society.

Entries are subdivided into three categories:

Building

Infrastructure

Element (housing or small projects e.g. walls, stairs, paving)

The adjudication will be carried out by an independent jury convened by the Council of the Society. There will be one overall winner chosen, with category winners in the other sections, depending on the level and quality of entries.

The jury will consider awarding special recognition for the use of concrete in a sustainable context. Nominations should include a brief description of the contribution of concrete in this regard.

Nominations for the Award may be made by clients, Architects, Consulting Engineers, Material Suppliers, Contractors or others directly involved with the project. Nominations must refer to completed work, located in Ireland, which commenced after January 2017.

Note: Entries submitted for the previous year’s award may remain eligible for this year’s scheme if they meet the requirements of the above commencement date. A new nomination form and photographs must be submitted.

Your reason for the nomination (describing excellence) together with a minimum of 250 word brief description of the project must be included with your entry.

Entries will be selected by the jury for display at the Awards Evening. A minimum of four (4) high quality digital photographs must be submitted (Jpeg format preferred). As a guide, photographs should be a minimum 150dpi with file sizes 1.5MB file size or greater. These photos, which will be retained by the Society, will be used to help the jury form initial impressions on the merits of the entry and may also be mounted for public display on the Awards Evening or used for promotional purposes.

Completed forms must be submitted to [email protected] by 5pm on Friday 25th of June 2021. Please use ‘Annual Award Entry’ in the subject line.

Additional forms may be downloaded from www.concrete.ie/our-awards/
