Cementitious materials

Some of the iron-silicate fines is used in the cement industry as a ferrous additive. It can also be used in other areas of construction and as an initial raw material in iron production.

The copper production plant of the Group is in Srednogorie region. The plant was built in 1958 and its main activity is processing of copper concentrates for the production of copper anodes and cathodes, as well as by-products such as sulphuric acid and iron-silicate fines. It consists of four main production units: Smelter, Refinery, Acid plant and Flotation plant. Currently the com-pany is the largest user of the Bulgarian ports and rail transport with over 2 million cargo shipments per year.
