The Innovation Award

CriteriaThis award celebrates businesses who are prepared to conceive, test and practice new ideas.

The judges will be looking for evidence that include the majority of the following:

1. Real Innovation - Is this a new idea or rehash of an old idea? Give details.

2. Measurable Results – Demonstrate how the innovation has been proven by usage and offer comparable results.

3. Practicality - Show how the innovation has benefited staff and/or management.

4. Cost impact - Was innovation expensive, what running costs are involved and are these compensated by returns?

5. Company’s overall attitude to change – Was this a one off or is the company actively seekingand developing new areas.

6. Usefulness elsewhere – show how this innovation could affect other businesses, could it be transferred successfully elsewhere, and interpreted into other developments.

Guide Notes You may enter more than one category, but a separate form is required for each entry. (A maximum of two

categories)

Please submit two full copies of your entry if posting in, including your supporting information. Only one copy is required if emailing.

Please treat your entry as a business tender and make sure that all of the information required is supplied and well presented.

Read ALL of the criteria thoroughly before answering and be sure to address each criterion.

If you are considering entering on behalf of a third party please make sure that you submit all of the relevant information. Submissions without the required information can not be considered.

Read through the submission check list to ensure your entry is complete.

Please only submit two pieces of supporting information per criterion. These can be brochures, testimonials, Word or Excel documents, PDFs, etc.

Remember to submit a full copy of your accounts when entering Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Business Growth and Commercial Business in the Community categories.

If you are shortlisted you will be visited by the Business Award Judges for the second phase of the judging process. Visits should take no longer than one hour.

Rules and Information All entries must be submitted to Archant Herts and Cambs by 5.00pm on Tuesday 1st October 2019.

Any organisation (private or public sector) operating within Hertfordshire is eligible to enter the awards.

Entering more than one category is allowed, but each entry must be submitted on separate entry forms (up to a maximum of three categories).

Candidates should supply two full copies of each entry if posting in – including all the supporting evidence. Only one copy is required if emailing.

The Judges, organisers and sponsors cannot accept responsibility for the validity of claims made by entrants.

A minimum of five judges will be allocated to each category. The judges will consider each nomination in the context of the chosen category.

If appropriate the judges may decide to submit your nomination in an additional category.

The judges are completely independent of the Archant Group.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 21st November 2019 – no results will be announced before this date.

Award winners may state in advertising / promotional activities that they are winners, but must include the category and the year in which the award was won.

Entry to the Hertfordshire Business Awards implies acceptance of the rules and conditions.

Data Protection - The information you provide will be held on a database to allow processing of your entry. Your details may be used to inform you of other events and services relating to the Business Awards and Awards Sponsors.
