Presently there are four active bus bays, multilevel parking for visitors and admin block.

There was an area demarcated as workshop area where 50 buses could halt at one time with the accommodation facilities for the drivers and conductors.

-The existing traffic movement towards chandpole creates hassle on the entrance gate of the bus stand during the entry of buses.Changing the existing entry and exit does not resolve the existing traffic problem, although it makes the internal bus movement conventional.PROPOSED ZONING: entry railway station road exit- chandpole road bus fingers

INTRODUCTIONChennai city has A vast network of roads that helps in easy mobility in the city. There are as many as five national highways that leads to the adjacent cities like kolkata, bangalore, trichy (tiruchirapalli), pondicherry and tiruvallur. There are two bus services, inter city and inter state which are also known by the names tiruvallur transport corporation and J.J.Transport corporation. For long distances there are two main stands in the george town called express bus stand and broadway. The inter city bus station called chennai mofussil bus terminus (CMBT) has the distinction of being the largest in the whole south asian region. It Is Well Functioning In Transportation System Of The Metro City Chennai, To Understand The Complexity Of The Bus Terminus, It Is Require To Study The Right Approach For Design Of A Terminal, So CMBT Is A Good Prototype For The Study.
