How I came into ISKCON of Sacramento by Dr.,Kirk Hutson, Retired Chief of Staff at California State Senate

Hare Krishna, I was lead to ISKCON Sacramento by Krishna himself. I had no prior knowledge of it's existence before Krishna advised me in meditation to go to the center one Saturday night after work. I am so glad I followed his guidance. From the first moment I arrived, everyone was so nice to me, even though we had

never met in this current life. I have read many versions of the Gita before, yet, the one presented to me that night took my love for Krishna to a higher level. Right away I felt at home, for we all took turns reading the Gita and discussing what we had read, verse by verse. Everyone read, young and old, male and female and those who had been there for many years and I, who had just walked in the door. Then we all sang and played musical instruments together, each to their own ability, for it was all in Love. That showed me that eve-ryone was valued at ISKCON Sacramento. For regardless of who you are, we are all part and parcel of Krishna and he loves us all.

I will leave you with this wonderful advise Caitanya Mataji gave me, Krishna is in every thing, every atom and Krishna will bring you more love and joy into your life than you can imagine. That is so true, so, please join us and chant Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare and see every living entity, including yourself, as part and parcel of the Lord and you will feel much joy. For we are all one. Peace and Hare Krishna.

O Bhārata, stand and fight! by Sri Krishna in Gita

BG 4:42 Therefore the doubts which have arisen in your

heart out of ignorance should be slashed by the weapon

of knowledge. Armed with yoga, O Bhārata, stand and

fight.

BG 4:36 Even if you are considered to be the most sinful

of all sinners, when you are situated in the boat of tran-

scendental knowledge you will be able to cross over the

ocean of miseries.

BG 5:29 A person in full consciousness of Me, knowing

Me to be the ultimate beneficiary of all sacrifices and aus-

terities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods,

and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities,

attains peace from the pangs of material miseries.

THE PEACE FORMULA by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Just as a national state is protected by the department of law and order, so the

state of the universe, of which this earth is only an insignificant fragment, is pro-

tected by the laws of nature. This material nature is one of the potencies of God,

who is the ultimate proprietor of everything that be. This earth is, therefore, the

property of God, but we living entities, especially the so-called civilized human

beings, are claiming God’s property as our own under an individual and collective

false conception. If you want peace, you have to remove this false conception

from your mind and from the world. This false claim of proprietorship by the hu-

man race is the cause of all disturbances of peace on earth. Therefore, if you

want peace at all, you will have to change your consciousness into Krishna con-

sciousness, both individually and collectively, by the simple process of chanting

the holy name of God. This is the standard and recognized process for achieving

peace in the world. We therefore recommend that everyone become Krishna con-

scious by chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare

Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

THE TIME by Sage Maitreya in Srimad Bhagavatham

SB 3.11.3 — One can estimate time by measuring the movement of the atomic combi-

nation of bodies. Time is the potency of the almighty Personality of Godhead, Hari,

who controls all physical movement although He is not visible in the physical world.

SB 3.11.4 — Atomic time is measured according to its covering a particular atomic

space. That time which covers the unmanifest aggregate of atoms is called the great

time.

SB 3.11.5 — The division of gross time is calculated as follows: two atoms make one

double atom, and three double atoms make one hexatom. This hexatom is visible in

the sunshine which enters through the holes of a window screen. One can clearly see

that the hexatom goes up towards the sky.

SB 3.11.6 — The time duration needed for the integration of three trasareṇus is called

a truṭi, and one hundred truṭis make one vedha. Three vedhas make one lava.kāṣṭhā,

and fifteen kāṣṭhās make one laghu

Permanent Preaching Center in Sacramento

After nearly 20 years of hundreds of weekend pro-grams in Yoga Studios and several homes, ISKCON of Sacramento is moving forward to acquire a per-

manent center in Sacramento, the capital of Califor-nia. Our activities in the past 20 years include sin-

cere efforts of several dedicated individuals to bring the greatest Supreme Love of Godhead to everyone in Sacramento through chanting of holy names, dis-tributing transcendental literature, serving free sanc-tified food and conducting festivals and so on. The service undertaken by ISKCON of Sacramento is non-sectarian and is of paramount importance to the

society that is plunging fast and deep into a world of insensitive materialism and disconnecting it from the Supreme Being. Without God or Krishna conscious-ness, life is empty and our goal is to fill this empti-ness with love of Godhead and revive the society by bringing the Krishna consciousness life style into

forefront. This revival is a declaration of war against the pre-vailing condition of lack of peace in the society. This spiritual war is not fought with weapons but with transcendental sound vibration of the holy names of Supreme Lord that is universal to every living entity

and is approved as the only solution to all the problems in the society.

Reviving a society needs a collective effort. Uplifting people to a higher taste needs several of us with a higher taste, an attitude of selflessness and a divine desire to help people without any discrimination. This revival of consciousness needs enormous physi-cal strength, mental strength and most importantly the loving potency in one's heart to make the transformation in the hearts of those suffering. We are all deeply eager to help others with our mission and are keenly looking forward to having a permanent center in Sacramento. A permanent center will give us a great foundation and necessary support for us to provide a greater ser-vice. Our position is that of few squirrels on an enthusiastic mission to build a bridge in Sacramento; a bridge to connect the

masses to the Supreme Lord. To do this, we need support from all of you. A gift of any value can be powerful. Your prayers and

wishes will be the reckoning force behind this war in Sacramento. Little drops of water make an ocean. Please kindly be part of establishing a permanent center in Sacramento that can flood the streets with the ocean of mercy of Supreme Personality of God-head.
