Zayn Al-‘Aabideen was a righteous man from the Taabi’een (those who were contemporary to the Companions but did not see the Prophet ). His real name was ‘Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali ibn Abee Taalib. He used to look after sixty poor families, giving them food, clothes, and money. He did all this in secret. He never told anybody about it.

If Zayn Al-‘Aabideen did all this in secret, how did we get to know about it?

What do you think?

Write a paragraph of no less than fty words in whichyou say what Ihsaan means to you.

You have to complete this activity in a group. Your teacher

will give your group pieces of paper to write on.

Your group must write a good deed on each piece of

paper.

The group that writes the most good deeds in the

time your teacher has given, will be the winners.

Ihsaan is a matter of great importance to a Muslim.Ihsaan is the highest level of deen (religion). Allah has commanded Muslims to act with Ihsaan.

“And do good; indeed Allah loves the doers of good.” (Soorah al-Baqarah: 195)

In another aayah Allah says:

“Indeed Allah orders justice and good conduct.” (Soorah an-Nahl: 90)

In this aayah Allah issues a strict command to the

believers to act with Ihsaan.

Take the pieces of paper on which

you have written the good deeds and

give a numeric value (from 1 to 10) to

each deed.

The deeds that you feel are more

rewarding should have a higher

number.

Your teacher will collect the papers

and select a number of deeds from

each group and place them on the

oor.

Each team will select one member to

represent them in the competition.

Your teacher will blindfold each

representative. Every team’s

representative will be given two

minutes to pick up as many papers

from the oor as possible.

Your teacher will then add up all the

values written on the papers of each

team.

Islam is represented by all the good deeds that one

can see, like Salah and Sawm.

Iman and Ihsaan are two good deeds that are unseen

and hidden in the hearts of the believers.

Your teacher will now return all the pieces of paper

on which your group wrote the good deeds.

In your group, classify all the deeds you have written

Allah says,

Islam preaches cleanliness.

“Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.”

(Soorah al-Baqarah: 222)

Before touching the Qur’aan it is necessary to perform wudoo’.

The recitation of the Qur’aan is the best form of the dhikr of Allah .

The place where you recite the Qur’aan should be clean.

Muslims should not read or recite the Qur’aan in the bathroom or restroom.

Muslims respect the Qur’aan, because it is the words of Allah .

Muslims do not dishonor or disrespect the Qur’aan.
