    Section 8 Ship Security Assessment (SSA)

    Personnel conducting internal audits of the security activitiesshall be independent of the activities being audited (9.4.1)

    19.3 Duration and validity of certif icate

    I nternational Ship Secur ity Certi f icate shall not exceed 5years (19.3.1)

    When the renewal verif ication is completedwithin 3 months

    before the expiry date of the existing certificate, the newcerti f icate shall be valid from the date not exceeding 5 years

    from the date of completion of the renewal verif ication to a

    date not exceeding5 years from the date of expi ry of the

    existing certi f icate(19.3.2)

    19.3 Duration and validity of certif icate

    When the renewal ver if ication is completedafter the expirydateof the existing certi f icate, the new certi f icate shall be

    valid from the date of completion of the renewal verif ication

    to a date not exceeding5 years from the date of expiry of the

    existing certi f icate(19.3.2.1)

    When the renewal verification is completedmore than 3

    months before the expiry date of the existing certi f icate, the

    new certi f icate shall be valid from the date of completion of
