Assistant Principal's Message
Dear Students and Parents,
It has been so exciting seeing all of you online. I’d like to
extend my gratitude towards the teachers and parents
that made Class Meetings happen online this week through Microsoft Teams.
The move towards online meetings as a way to check-in and connect for students and teachers has
been very popular and we look forward to more of these meetings before school returns. We have
already experienced success with Teams’ Meetings from 3-6, but the last piece of the puzzle was
getting the junior school connected.
For the staff in years Prep and 1/2, it was in a lot of ways a celebration of their meteoric rise as
technical experts when it comes to distance learning. As I mentioned in my last article, the learning
curve has been steep, but it has been fuelled by the creativity of our teachers and also the needs of
our students. If you didn’t get a chance to tune in to a class meeting last week, please look out for the
next one in the emails home from your child’s teacher. Below is a snapshot of some Prep meetings
from this week.

Toby experimented with sketching and air dry clay. In an attempt to try and speed up the process of drying his clay, Toby created a DIY kiln, using his bedside lamp and lots of shiny objects such as metallic Lego blocks to bounce heat waves around the space where he placed his clay sculpture.
