Jai AmoreHow long have you been performing?I’ve been performing live for about ten years. I started to realise I could take it seriously when I got the chance to perform at the MOBO’s in front 3,500 people at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006How would you describe your style?Electro-RnB. I’m really experimental with my music, but my roots are in James Brown soul and Usher RnB..You’ve performed with artist such as Chipmunk, Pyrelli and producers Bless Beats to name a few. What are your plans for the future?I’m just enjoying releasing music to my fans who have been really enthusiastic about my songs. I’ve got a growing fan-base in beautiful Ghana so I’m making regular trips their for showcases. In the UK, I’m working with the producers I love and respect. You’re about to release a new video can you tell us about it?The video is for my single called ‘Backwards’, which is about a relationship in reverse. What that means is that you don’t see it but there are obvious signs that it’s ending, and then everything falls apart as if it’s going back to the beginning. I had fun doing the video, because we shot the whole thing in reverse. I had to learn the whole song backwards. With all the negative press in the news about young people what are your thoughts?I think it takes strong and determined role models to make a change. From parenting to just good friendships. So, I teach kids regularly, running vocal sessions and just trying my best to prove that you can have mad fun in life and still be successful. Live to the max. As I say, Don’t Half Live. How can we find out more about you?www.jaiamore.com. Also, you can follow me on twitter @JaiAmore and get personal..!And if you’re on Facebook, just search for me: Jai Amore

Misha B

Misha B, Manchester born X Factor finalist came fourth in last years competition inspite of being called a bully by singer/judge Tulisa who’s group ‘Little Mix; may have felt a little bit intimidated by such a talent. However, with Misha’s brilliant rapping and singing and with the backing of her mentor Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland; just like cream she has risen to the top. Misha is now enjoying the success of her second single release since the show last year. Misha started singing seriously aged 14, and says that singing was “my way of understanding myself ”. Misha was brought up by Her aunt Lily after her former drug user mother gave her up when she was just three months old. Misha grew up believing that her aunt was her real mother until the age of ten; she has only met her biological mother, a former drug addict, a handful of times and does not know who her father is.Constantly being compared to Missy Elliot, Eartha Kitt, Nicki Minaj and Grace Jones Misha dismisses these claims calling them ‘lazy comparisons’ With the promise of working with Missy Elliot and her new Single ‘Do You Think Of Me?’ doing brilliantly in the charts Misha has carved out a name for herself and is now considered a brilliant artist in her own right. Look out for her UK tour continuing to the end of the year.

So it’s the 29th August and I can now reveal a little bit more

about my last blog where I met with Beverley Knight in the studio with a student I teach called Lizzie. We were rehearsing for the Paralympics opening ceremony. I was sworn to secrecy to the point that I even had to sign a contract which was very James Bond and cryptic. So, I’m charging into the stadium amidst a sea of enthusiastically obliging, smiley faced volunteers. I’m soaking up the excitement; and I can already hear deep drum rolls, wondrous music and deafening cheering from the crowd all around. You guessed it, I’m a tad late (as usual - I hear you say? I’d say fashionably late). It could have been worse but I was jaywalking, crowd watching and recording the good vibes in order to recount my experience to one and all. The show was breath taking, thought provoking and pulsating as the glorious melodies pounded against my chest like I was standing next to a speaker box at Reggae Sun Splash. Ian McCellan, Diversity dance crew and performers of every description were literally flying in the sky, dancing, singing, relaying

the many uplifting messages like, ‘reach for the sky, ‘enquire and learn’, ‘push your personal boundaries’, and ‘reach your potential’. Through many different creative and artistic mediums the show took my breath away right to the very end where finally Beverley Knight sang ‘I am what I am’ with Lizzie Emeh supporting her. I was overwhelmed and Beverley was brilliant as she drew us into her world, challenging our perceptions and preconceived ideas with the song lyrics and finally taking us to church with a crescendo that blew the earlier Olympics away to smithereens. Why am I sharing all of this? For a singer / songwriter we always need to be inspired in order for us to stay fresh so for me this event filled me up with sugar and spice and all things nice for at least a good few months and I know that the bug has not just bit me. Now, all I want to do is lock myself away and create, create, create.

Unsigned & HappeningDeléDelé, singer/performer/songwriter, from East London has already released his first single, ‘She Makes Me Hot’ and choreographed the dancers in the video himself, receiving a positive response from his fans. His second single ‘Ex’ took his popularity to a whole new level as he received rave reviews from radio stations all over the UK. Known for his diverse vocal range and great stage presence the next career step will be for him to do a number of supporting performances. He has also been working studiously on his debut album, which will be available later this year and produced by Syklone ww.myspace.com/deleakinz

Josh oshoThis young man has had a very exciting young life ranging from a whirlwind existance on the streets at 17 years old dealing drugs to being signed at 18 to Universal records. Now a very successful singer/songwriter.Josh Osho can boast about working with Ghostface Killah on his last single ‘Redemption Days’ and now Childish Gambino on his next installment ‘Giants’. Having entered the MOBO

Unsigned catergory earlier this year and performing on Marger’s track ‘This Year’ in January and going on tour Josh has a very promising career ahead.www. joshosho.com

NattyNatty’s new mixtape ‘Out Of Fire’ and single ‘Alarm Bells’ is creating a big buzz in the music world which also features drum & Bass producer Sam Frank. Inspired by “roots music”- a term that for him connects legends such as Bob Dylan and Peter Tosh to Bob Marley and Neil Young, to the raw, contemporary street music of London, New York and Kingston. He is passionate about music and interestingly he was born in San Francisco but he grew up in north London with an African born mother and Italian English father. Music lovers should look forward to his second studio album scheduled for 2013. www.nattymusic.com

After performing at Stratford on Avon Gregory Doran’s version of

Julius Caesar is set in Africa courtesy of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Having opened last month at the Noel Coward Theatre the production has also been filmed by BBC4 as part of the BBC’s Shakespeare unlocked season for London 2012 and has been wowing audiences.A fast-moving thriller about the struggle for democracy, Julius Caesar is also a story about two men united by an explosive act of political violence. With echoes of the recent overthrow of dictators during the ‘Arab Spring’, the production explores the implications of political assassination and the unpredictability of its aftermath. This play explores the struggle for democracy and is about two men united by an explosive act of political violence. Gregory says that “One of the inspirations behind setting Julius Caesar in Africa was discovering the Robben Island Shakespeare and that Nelson Mandela had chosen to autograph lines from the play, asserting that it spoke in a particular way to his continent. The prestigious cast is headed by the ever talented and highly esteemed Jeffery Kissoon as Julius Caesar, Paterson Joseph as Brutus and Cyril Nri as Cassius; with Ray Fearon as Mark Antony and Adjoa Andoh as Portia. With reviews describing Julius Caesar as ‘Triumphant’ and ‘Deeply Moving’ don’t miss the last few days of this inspirational production or go to the website to catch the production on tour.
