Director’s MessageWelcome to the July edition of our newsletter!

Despite the colder weather having descended on us here in beautiful Lennox Head, winter has still brought with it some warmth. We are so lucky to have a wonderful community spirit instilled in our GemLife Lennox Head family.

While we continue to work with the council to obtain the necessary approvals, we again thank you for your patience with this matter. Do not hesitate to get in touch with our dedicated sales team, should you have any questions, and keep active on our Facebook page for more up-to-date information.

Yours sincerely, Adrian Puljich Director & CEO, GemLife

Sales Manager’s Message

It’s hard to believe one month of winter has already passed us by here in beautiful Lennox Heads. What a wonderful year it has been too, with much to look forward to in the coming six months!

In May, we gathered together 60 of our GemLife Lennox Head family and took a bus trip to the lovely township of Toowoomba, where we enjoyed a tour through the display homes at GemLife Highfields on site, along with a hearty lunch at the Living Gems Toowoomba Country Club.

This day out was a highlight for all who attended. Seeing how the homes were displayed, along with the peaceful setting, echoed what we will experience at Lennox Heads. Our thanks to all who came and made this day memorable!

SOCIAL UPDATE

Road trippingLast month we went for a road trip up to GemLife Highfields to see the new display homes. We also enjoyed a scrummy lunch in the freshly finished country club at Living Gems Toowoomba.

Downsizing: what to ditch before you make the big moveThere’s no better time to embark on a thorough stocktake of all your worldly possessions than when you are planning to move house. It’s also the perfect time to free yourself from all the things you’ve amassed over time which are no longer useful or being used. Downsizing need not be a disaster though. Here are five tips designed to assist with the process of purging the old to make room for the new, when relocating.

1. ElectronicsA recent Australian study revealed we average 6.4 screens per home (spread across multiple devices) meaning that when it’s time to downsize, saying goodbye to some TV technology is a good idea. Also, check to see what other electronics you have which are no longer working – there’s no point keeping these, so discard them and lighten your electronic load before the big move.

2. CollectablesYour precious collection of fridge magnets or quirky souvenirs you’ve lovingly stockpiled over your years of travel might carry a lot of sentimental weight, but they will also literally add to your load. Now is the ideal time to part ways with these items, which will only take up valuable space in your new home.

3. ClothesIs there anything more therapeutic than a clean out of your cupboard? Now is the perfect time to sort through your clothes and make piles of what you no longer wear. Perhaps you’d like to donate these to a worthy charity, or if you are a fan of second-hand online selling sites, why not list them to make some extra cash?

4. FurnitureDownsizing will often mean you no longer require as much furniture as you currently have. It makes sense to sell or donate anything which will not fit in your new home. Save on removalists fees by offloading big items before you move, or, if you are looking for the perfect excuse to go shopping, why not treat yourself to some lovely home apparel to match your brand new home?

5. DigitizeIn today’s age of technology, there’s no longer a need to have CDs and DVDs stored at home. If you have an account with Netflix, Stan or something similar, you can enjoy movies in this manner. Likewise, iTunes or Spotify can free you up from having CD’s in the house, saving you on space and clutter.
