ABOUT INFORMATIONTECHNOLOGY LABORMARKET REPORT 2019I.

INTRODUCTION AND METHODOLOGYA.INTRODUCTION.........................The Information Technology Labor Market Report 2019 was created with a mission to provide and update information about salary, benefits, and behaviors of job seekers in Vietnam IT industry. The report focuses on analyzing current high-demand job in the IT jobs market from 2017 to the end of 2018.
METHODOLOGY.........................The HR Market in IT Industry Report 2019 of VietnamWorks is based on two main data resources, including (1) IT jobs data on vietnamworks.com from 2017 to 2018 and (2) IT Salary and Benefits Survey 2018 of VietnamWorks.
(1) About IT jobs data on vietnamworks.com from 2017 to 2018: Each employer posting their jobs on vietnamworks.com was asked to fill two information fields which are minimum salary and maximum salary of the job vacancies. Data from these fields of IT jobs (2017-2018) are also the foundation of stats provided in this report. Employers were given a choice whether to show their salaries to jobseekers or not on VietnamWorks. We respect employers’ discretion. Therefore, all the data included in this report, while comprehensive, does not reveal any specific employer’s posted salary.
(2) About IT Salary and Benefits Survey 2018: The survey was conducted on 1083 IT employ-ees by quantitative approach. Survey sample was randomly selected. Participants were both users and non-users of vietnamworks.com. All information of survey participants are protected by VietnamWorks.
The report also refers to the White book of Viet Nam Information and Communications Technology 2017 published by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
All salary data in this report are gross salary in USD, with the exchange rate of 23 390 VND/USD. All the charts mentioning salary numbers, excluding Salary distribution charts, illustrate monthly average salary.
