NEW MUSEUMS/ ATTRACTIONS/EVENTS NEW MUSEUM “FEDERICO II STUPOR MUNDI IN JESI (Ancona)

The Museum “Federico II Stupor Mundi” has been recently opened in the town of Jesi in the Le Marche region. It is aimed at celebrating Frederick II of Swabia, born in Jesi on 26th December 1194, and narrates his influence in the context of local, national and European history. The museum is dedicated to the Swabian Emperor with an Arab heart: the "Stupor Mundi" which was the grandson of Barbarossa, patron of the arts, as well as a great innovator in the field of law, politics and sciences. The premises designated to house the Museum, Palazzo Ghislieri, is located in Piazza Federico II, one of the most prestigious historic squares in Jesi. www.federicosecondostupormundi.it NEW MUSEUM OF ITALIAN JEWISH HERITAGE AND SHOAH A new Museum of Italian Jewish Heritage and Shoah will be opened on 13 December 2017 in the city of Ferrara in Emilia Romagna. It is housed in an ex prison, and it extends over more than 1200sqm. Theme of the museum is the rich history of Italian Jews, present in the country for more than 2200 years and its aim is to enhance the knowledge and traditions of the Jewish people and their cuture in Italy. http://www.meisweb.it/museo/

Since 1998, the lovely town of Corinaldo in the Le Marche region hosts the “Feast of the Witches” to coincide with Halloween. The Feast starts on 1st December with a festive playing popular tunes played by the band along the city streets, on 9 December the religious celebrations start in the St. Lucia Chapel in the Cathedral to culminate on 13 December with a solemn procession and fireworks.
