Upon arrival you will be transferred to the city’s harbour to board the MS La Belle de l’Adriatique. Having met the crew and enjoyed a welcome cocktail, relax on board for an evening at leisure. Day 2: Naples B/L/D. Following your breakfast, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on an excursion to the ghostly ruins of Pompeii. This utterly engrossing archaeological site displays remarkably preserved remnants of the city, moments before Vesuvius’ tremendous eruption. This morning enjoy a leisurely cruise passing the UNESCO recognised Aeolian Islands — a verdant paradise that emerges from the shimmering cobalt waters. Later arrive in the hill clinging town of Milazzo, a charming abode of rustic houses overlooking a serene waterfront boulevard. You may either explore Milazzo at your own pace, or undertake an optional trip to Tindari, a Graeco-Roman sanctuary home to the enigmatic Black Madonna statue. Day 4: Messina B/L/D. Embark on a short cruise to Messina, one of Sicily’s largest cities and host to magnificent turn-of-the-century edifices, one of the region’s finest cathedrals and freshly caught swordfish specialists revered by chefs across the globe. Today is at leisure to explore Messina at our own pace, you could also join an optional excursion to the fascinating Roman theatre in Taormini and the notorious ctive volcano, Mount Etna. Day 5: Vibo Marina & Calabria B/L/D. Arrive this morning in the sun-baked region of Calabria, with a stop at the picturesque beach resort of Tropea, a town characterised by stunning costal scenery and a timeless façade. Following lunch continue to one of Calabria’s most prized hidden gems, Pizzo. This sleepy seaside town boasts two distinct treasures: its extraordinary rock-carved grotto church and irresistible tartufo ice cream. Return to your ship this evening for on board entertainment and an overnight cruise. Day 6: Salerno & The Amalfi Coast B/L/D. Awake to the UNESCO recognised Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most celebrated coastlines owed to by its sweeping mountains plunging into the ocean and luscious forests which surround charming townscapes. An optional excursion is available allowing your to venture into these sublime towns to discover unspoilt gardens and a traditional character. Later make a stop in Sorrento to admire this cliff-straddling town and its famed manicured gardens. Following your gala dinner on board the MS La Belle de l’Adriatique, continue north overnight. Day 7: Naples B/L/D. En route back to Naples an excursion is available to Capri, a town known as a Mediterranean microcosm of voguish piazzas, open air cafes and rugged seascapes. During this optional trip, you will also have the opportunity to visit the laid-back rural suburb of Anacapri, followed by some free time wandering through the idyllic Gardens of Augustus. Later return to Naples for the evening. Day 8: Naples to UK B. Ship information - MS La Belle de l’Adriatique The ship has a cozy atmosphere with a spacious outdoor terrace on the upper deck and 99 cabins. The MS La Belle de l’Adriatique also has two bars: the main lounge bar plus a piano bar. There are two whirlpools on the sun deck and other amenities include a library, gift shop and elevator. Wi-Fi is also available (at a fee).
