This book has design drawings and color pages

with truly unique quilts and garments. The book includes a collection of schematics of Indian designs using traditional patterns, photos of Indian designs taken from textiles and baskets, and Southwestern designs taken from indigenous folk art and landscape infl uences that come from Arizona, California, New Mexico Texas and Utah. There are Historical sketches of the indigenous artists. Landscapes, plant life and habitats

are used for inspiration. The artists have put together a unique collection of scenes and designs to tease the eye and challenge any quilter. A good read and recommended for do-able projects for the quilter. Check it out! ✔

Make a New Year’s resolution to pick up an inexpensive sketchbook and get started!Post Script on Tip #8: I just learned it the hard way: if your design wall is made of homsote insulation board, don’t try to fuse your quilt with a hot iron while it is hanging on the wall. Perfect Binding Video on YouTubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCHoM6lPwpU

Linda Cover was trying to fi nd the tool she used for her perfect binding presentation. Apparently it has been sold and/or redone by another company and is now a bit different and called The Binding Thingy. Linda saw it available in the Keepsake Quilting catalog. Upon Googling, Linda found that there is an online demonstration of how to make mitered bindings with the tool.In the video, they use a 2” strip, which is a preference for some people. This new tool has fewer lines on it so only has markings for a 2” strip while the Corner Mark-it (which Linda used) had additional lines for different strip widths. You can check out this video demonstration at the link above. To purchase the Binding Thingy, go to http://www.quiltersrule.com/template/tt-bt.html. Binding Thingy© is made by Tangled Threads Co.If you missed the Short Subject where Linda taught how to make mitered corners, or for those who didn’t quite get the technique, the video is a good refresher. As a reminder, her “Prize Winning Binding” instructions are on our website on the home page, under the “Sew Much More” section. Enjoy!

What did Adam say on the day before Christmas?

It’s Christmas, Eve!

Blondes Getting Christmas TreeThere were two blondes who went deep into the frozen woods searching for a Christmas tree. After hours of subzero temperatures and a few close calls with hungry wolves, one blonde turned to the other and said, “I’m chopping down the next tree I see. I don’t care whether it’s decorated or not!”

Step #1 is inspiration (gather pictures), #2 is organization (color palate, size and fabrics arranged by color, #3 is space, #4 is value, #5 is color, #6 evaluate and #7 is finishing touches. Delores’ project used buildings from a scene in Tuscany. She used hand appliqué and machine appliqué. Her project looked just like a picture!
