For one, try not to think of it as simply a vacation and time off from school. The Feast is fun, but it is also a very serious time. It is a com- manded time of worshipping Yah- weh. We must come before Yahweh with a clean and right heart. Remem- ber the ultimate reason you are keep- ing the Feast is because Yahweh told us to. Seek to serve others instead of wanting to be served. There is lots of work involved at the Feast, including cooking, cleaning, and setting up. Ask an adult at the Feast if there is anything you can do to help. Even something as simple as making sure the dining tables are well-stocked with napkins, can make a huge differ- ence and would be much appreciated by all. Listen and pay attention to the sermons. Older children can take notes. If there is something you did not understand in the message, ask your parents. Perhaps you and they could study the matter further to- gether. Let your light shine at the Feast. Be well-behaved and respect- ful. Make your parents proud by your good behavior. See you at the Feast!

Lev 23:40b

It’s that time of year again! The Feast of Tabernacles is fast approaching! All of Yahweh’s peo-ple are eagerly looking forward to spending 7 days together in worship, fun, and fellowship. How can you make your time at the Feast the most

rewarding? For one, try not to think of it as simply a vacation and time off from school. The Feast is fun, but it is also a very serious time. It is a com-manded time of worshipping Yah-weh. We must come before Yahweh with a clean and right heart. Remem-ber the ultimate reason you are keep-ing the Feast is because Yahweh told us to.

Seek to serve others instead of wanting to be served. There is lots of work involved at the Feast, including cooking, cleaning, and setting up. Ask an adult at the Feast if there is anything you can do to help. Even something as simple as making sure the dining tables are well-stocked with napkins, can make a huge differ-

ence and would be much appreciated by all.

Listen and pay attention to the sermons. Older children can take notes. If there is something you did not understand in the message, ask your parents. Perhaps you and they could study the matter further to-gether. Let your light shine at the Feast. Be well-behaved and respect-ful. Make your parents proud by your good behavior. See you at the Feast!

YAIY

Make a Fall Leaf Scrapbook!       Yahweh’s  creation  is  amazing.  In  the  fall,  leaves  turn  color  because  the  temperatures  are  getting cooler and the days are getting shorter.  During fall and winter, not enough light and water are available for photosynthesis.  Eventually the leaves will fall off on most types of trees.  The trees will then rest and live on food they stored in summer.  The leaves will not begin to turn green again till temperatures rise in spring and the days get longer.  If you live in an area with cooler temperatures and many trees, you know that  the display of  color  can be  incredible to behold!  Here’s one way to make a really fun, pretty scrapbook!  Please don’t do this project without help  and  supervision  from your parents.

All  you’ll need  are:  various  leaves  (non poisonous,  of  course!),  acid  free  construc‐tion paper or cardstock, hole punch, ribbon, colored pencils or markers (optional).

1.  First, take a walk with your parents and collect  as  many  leaves  as  you  want.  You’ll want the  leaves really flat before you  make  your  scrapbook,  so  place them  gently  between  wax  paper  and put a heavy book on top.  It could take a few days to flatten the leaves completely.

2.  Once leaves are flat, place them on acid free construction paper or cardstock.  You can write on the paper  if you want.   Some children write what  type of  leaf  they are collecting on that particular page.   Then cut a piece of clear plastic  contact paper  to  cover  the paper or  cardstock.    Stick  it directly onto  the page with  the sticky side down  right over  the leaves.  The contact paper will protect your delicate leaves.

3.  After you have all your pages of  leaves done,   punch two or three holes either along the top of all the pages or on one side.  Make sure the holes line up.  You’ll be using the ribbon to tie the pages  together  to make a book.   Decorate your  scrapbook any way you like.
