It's AlreadyOctober... This October, Watermark Retirement
Communities is proud to participate in
National Breast Cancer Awareness
Month.
Breast cancer is the second most
common kind of cancer in women. About
1 in 8 women born today in the United
States will get breast cancer at some
point.
The good news is that many people can
survive breast cancer if it’s found and
treated early.
Talk to a doctor about your risk for breast
cancer, especially if a close family
member of yours has had breast or
ovarian cancer. Your doctor can help you
decide when and how often to get
mammograms.
For more information on Breast Cancer
Awareness, please join Nurse Lynn on
Wednesday, October 9th at 1:00pm.
Path to Well-Being
Active Aging is celebrating aging and the benefits of active living at any
age. Active Aging Week for 2019 will be held October 1-7. The objective of
the annual health-promotion event is to give as many older adults as
possible, the means to experience wellness activities and exercise in a
safe, supportive environment. It also promotes the benefits of healthier,
more active lifestyles across their life span. Here at the Fountains, we are
going to celebrate by doing a week of Occupational Take-Over. Every day for
the week we are having you all step into the role of what it would be like
to do different occupations, such as an Agriculturer, Tennis Player, Baseball
Player and more! You will experience all the hard work they do in their
profession, yet get you moving, active and have fun doing it! We encourage
everyone to help us make Active Aging Week 2019 a successful one!
