Jigoro kanoJigoro kano(2)(2)Jigoro Kano wanted to call it to differentiate Jikishin School which used to define the fighting techniques jiu-jitsu and Judo. The reasons why Jigoro Kano decided to call his school Judo and Jiu-jitsu were not many, but the more crucial was to make clear that theirs was not a mere school fighters or focused on the defense, were not only techniques, tactics and strategy.Sought a method that would give its practitioners strength and capabilities beyond those of their own Jiu-jitsu. Wanted, with this new creation, improving one's self of human beings from the standpoint of physical, mental and moral.

As Jigoro Kano himself said: "Judo is the most effective way for the use of physical and mental strength. Through the practice of attack and defense techniques, hone your body and spirit and this will help them the spiritual essence of Judo to become part of your being. In this way they will be able to perfect yourself and contribute to the betterment of mankind. This is undoubtedly the ultimate reason of Judo. " . as to inspire the great masters of karate Do and Aikido."Ju" is the soft, subtle, flexible, gentle, elegant, diplomatic, malleable "Do" is the path, the path the route, destination, the end. Therefore, the Judo is known worldwide as the "way of softness"
