Graphic Design is so much more that what other people think.

It’s not just about designing and making something look good. It’s much bigger than that.

Graphic design has the ability to influence great change, stimulate movement and even manipulate the mind.

Graphic design has a great power that should never be underestimated.”

Basta art lover. Minsan may nakita kong Iz sa pader, napaiisip ako siya siguro may gawa non haha. Basta basta kulang ang isang pangungusap para ides-cribe ang isang Iz the Wiz. Mas makikilala mo siya pag nakasama mo talaga.

With such great passion for art, there was no doubt in my mind when I talked him into taking up Multimedia Arts, that he will find his niche there—and he did. Now that he is in school completing his journey as a true artist, his impressive achieve-ments still have little to show for the great things that he can do in his life after CSB. Going back to school has definitely lit the fire in him and has opened his creative orifices and unleash the greatness that has been contained for so long.

El(Iz) is like an open sketchbook. Every page may not be filled with masterpieces but instead it’s filled with sketches from every inspiration he gets from anyone and anywhere. His open mindedness makes him a good artist and very creative. It’s rare these days to see people who follow their passion and make it their career. Im glad I met another one. My great friend, keep living up to your dreams because it’s worth it and i know you can do it.

“I first met Iz in DLS-CSB-School ofDesign and Arts my first impression of him was that he was this guy who owned cool clothes - I was especially fond of that orange jacket of his. As fate had it, we eventually started talking. Not only does he have a knack for creating graphics that are both unique and inspiring, but he is also the type of person whom anyone would always be glad to bump into, be it while walking along the halls of Benilde or while eating out in the Taft area.Funny how time passes by so quickly. Here I am now, writing him a testimony, hoping that you unsuspecting readers out there would be encouraged to befriend him, because he really is one awesome dude. And that’s probably a fact.”

"Creativity exudes him. A unique creativity that sets him apart from every-one. His flair of using his talents is just awe inspiring. Well, coming from a frus-trated artist like me, his works are just the awesomest. He's really that good. He's a little bit of everything all rolled into one. I do believe his talents would bring him somewhere he deserves to belong!"

Iz Lacson is a rising graphic artist who not only mesmerizes you with his art but also wants to influence others with it. What sets him apart from most artists is that he does strives for a greater goal than just getting appreciation for his eye candypieces but rather uses his art medium as a platform to stimulate mindsets and influence great change. At the end of the day, what matters most is that the work we do, whether it be in the arts orsciences, always has to serve a greater purpose, otherwise we just strive for personal glory that will never be satisfied. Iz understands this responsibility and it is my hope that as he matures in his art, his subjects and topics would eventually influence the inner goodness of mankind to be left in the hearts and minds of his audience.

IZ Lacson is unstoppable as an artist. The world is his canvas. A blank wall, a digital file, a plastic doll, an empty plate - he’s used these and more to create memorable works of art in all imaginable forms. I am lucky to have had the pleasure of enjoying his art. He can paint my walls with his special Onion dip and fill my plate with his exquisite Cro-que Madame anytime he wants.

Iz Lacson first encountered adobe photoshop in his High School around 2004. But it wasn’t until early 2006 when he discovered how versatile the soft-ware is.

Cubeecraft, pronounced “kyoob-ee”, is a papercraft toy that features interlocking tabs for construction – completely getting rid of the need for tape, glue or any other messy adhe-sives. Each toy is designed to be printed on a standard piece of 8 1/2 X 11 A4 letter paper. All you have to do is download, print, cut and fold, then presto! you now have a cute and fun paper toy.

Originaly started by Chris Beaumont back in 2008, Cubeecrafttm has spawned unlimited cubeecraft creations and unlimited contributing artists.

December of 2010 Iz Lacson, who has always been fond of papercrafts and Graphic Design, was randomly browsing the internet to entertain himself, stumbled upon a cubeecraft design of Superman. He downloaded it, printed, cut, fold and had fun to say the least.

Having enjoyed cubeecraft, he decided to look for more designs. Specifically DC ComicsCharacters. Although there are many designs in the Cubeecraft website, Iz was dismayed as he was a big Green Lantern Fan.

Decidedly he googled in “green lantern cubee-craft” and found out that there are countless artists who design cubeecrafts of their own.

You can download Chris Beaumont’s Cubeecraft template and create your own character. But remember, Cubeecraft is intended for private use and not to be used in a commercial capacity without permission!

Still not pleased with the search results, He tried making his own Green Lantern design, which later spawned more and more designs inspired by DC Comics.

Some people would even ask him to do requests and he even did a bride and groom design for his friend’s wedding.

He’s currently finishing his Justice League New52 Collection featuring Green Lantern, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash and Superman as inspired by the works of Jim Lee.

Sample template free for download at Cubeecraft.com

Lomography, a type of Film Photography, is an analog camera movement and community, and is also a commercial trademark of Lomographische AG. The Lomographic Society International was founded in 1992 by a group of Viennese students after they discovered the Lomo LC-A camera created by LOMO PLC of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since 1995, Lomography has been the sole distributor of that camera outside of the former Soviet Union, and has since moved into producing their own range of analog cameras.

Iz Lacson discovered Lomography back in 2007 through his cousin, Pam Pastor, one of the pioneers of LomoManila. This was way back before “TeamManila” came into the pic-ture (no pun intended).

His 1st toy cam was a Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim. An amazing all-plastic point and shoot camera that uses 35mm film. The UW&S works best in very bright situa-tions. Many people even point it di-rectly to the sun and take photos. With the right film and lighting it produces vibrantphotographs.

and then a few months after that, he got himself a Fisheye 2.

The Fishseye 2 is the 2nd generation Fisheye Camera. It has everything that you’ve loved about the old fish eye and more. It Includes a “B”, Bulb, setting amazing for night photog-raphy and ofcourse its wonderful 170 degree lens.

Lomography was fast becoming a subculture that knows no boundaries. No Rules. Just shoot. “Shoot from the hip” as they say.

a few more months later he got himself a Holga 135BC is the best thing that happened to Holga enthusiasts who doesnt want to use 120mm film as the Hol-ga 135BC uses 35mm film. The BC means “Black Corners” This cam-era cre-ates an interesting vignetting effect and gives your photographs more character.

Together with the Holga he also got aLomography Colorsplash Flash. As the name implies, the Colorsplash Flash “Splashes your photos with intense colors, adding life and excitement into each picture.

Graffitiby Iz Lacson

Graffiti writing is often seen as having become intertwined with hip hop culture and the myriad international styles de-rived from New York City Sub-way graffiti. However, there are many other instances of nota-ble graffiti this century. Graffiti have long appeared on building walls, in latrines, railroad box-cars, subways, and bridges.

Iz Lacson started scribbling and doodling pieces in his notebooks and his sketchpad back in 2005, but it wasn’t until 2006 when he started painting public walls with one of a kind pieces. Whether it’s a “Throw Up”, “Tag”, “stencil work” or a full on complicated “Piece”, he’s done it.

- Watermelon- Craft knife- Faucet/Tap- Chopping board- Marker- Ice cream scoop - Knife- Hand towel- BowlInstructions:1. Wash the watermelon and pat it dry with the hand towel2. On the chopping board, place the watermelon on its side. Cut off a thin slice of the skin from one end with the knife to flatten the bottom. This is done so that the watermelon will stand upright.3. With the watermelon now standing upright, use the marker to draw a circle on the top about 5 inches in diameter.4. Carefully trace and carve out the circle with the craft knife and set it aside. This will serve as your lid.5. Use the ice cream scooper or the spoon to scoop out the insides of the watermelon. Put it into a bowl and then set it aside.6. Pour out any remaining juice into a the bowl. Set aside7. In the bottom front of the watermelon, draw a circle [or rectangle depending on the shape of your faucet/tap] where you want the tap to be. Make the circle/rectangle a little smaller than the faucet/tap you’re going to use.8. Use the craft knife to carve the hole open to the correct shape and size.9. Very carefully screw in your faucet/tap. Be careful not to bruise the watermelon. Wrap the the part of the faucet/tap inside the watermelon with cling wrap to make the seal leak proof.10. Pour in your choice of Mixed drink and Enjoy!

FOODBy Iz Lacson

To love “Cooking”, one must love “food”.

Iz Lacson has always been fond of food, he got this from his Grandfather. Eating out with his grandfather, whether with family or just the two of them is always the highlight of the week. Saying that he’s a lolo’s boy is an un-derstatement.

Seeing his grandfather enjoying great food, he thought he’d try to start experimenting in the kitchen and try to replicate it. Eventually he started making recipes of his own and started his own culinary journey. There are only a few things on his mind ev-erytime he cooks.“I hope Lolo likes this.”
