Robert:  Hello everyone, this is Robert. There’s a lot of people on the call today. I’m trying to unmute you all as fast as you come on the line. Teresa and I are so used to doing these nice little intimate coaching calls with all of you guys. Now we have the whole group on the line.  Jack:  Hi everybody, this is Jack. I’m excited to be on this call with you!  Robert:  We just went muted. We have Teresa on the line as well.  Jack:  Hi Teresa. Welcome everybody! I’m really excited to be on this call with you. We’ve just had some amazing experiences talking to some of you about what you’re doing. Teresa and Robert have been reporting to me all the amazing breakthroughs that some of you are having, and all the intelligent questions that are coming in, which means you’re actively engaging this work.  We just had an amazing advanced training with 84 people, and about 30 of you were in that training and the rest weren’t. Wonderful things happened there, so I’m just in a really great mood and excited about the work we’re doing, the community we’re building, and the things that are going on.  I was really excited when Kristi stood up and said, “I’m scheduling 13 workshops between now and March,” and asked for support, and several people stood up and said, “I’ll help you enroll people,” just modeling what it looks like to get it done, so I’m very, very excited.  I’m going to cover a number of things in this call, and then I’m sure there will be some time for some additional Q&A in addition to what’s already come in that we’ve been looking at – questions you’ve submitted and issues that have been brought up on the coaching calls – so we’ll handle all that.  The first thing I want to talk about is managing some expectations. I know that we’ve promised you a lot, and we’re doing everything we can to deliver on that, but in the process of the last month we’ve had a number of questions to come in that

seem a little bit beyond the scope of what we’d originally offered.   We’re doing our best to answer some of those, but I want to create a system so that we don’t overwhelm the people that we’re working with and our staff, and also create perhaps some boundaries around what it is we’re committed to do and what we’re not.  One of the things we’re doing is we’re going to ask that you submit questions or if you need to talk to somebody, that you go through a central person, and that’s going to be Andrea Haefele, who’s on our staff. We’ve created an email address, [email protected]. So if you have a question, you can go ahead and send that in to her.  For some assistance you need or something you want, or if you want to talk to one of the staff, you can email her at [email protected] and then she will forward that question to Robert or to Teresa or to Jesse or to Patty or to whoever on our staff, including me, that might be the best person to handle that question.  What’s been happening a little bit is that we’re getting some people calling Veronica, then putting a call into Robert, putting a call into Teresa, putting a call into Jesse, and then we’ve got four people returning calls and answering things. Sometimes the question’s already been answered, so we want to try to get a little more efficient.  We’re very excited to work with you and to handle the questions, and these questions are good. When we get a lot of the same questions it’s telling us that there are some things that perhaps we need to cover at the seminars or we will write up an answer and submit it out through email to everybody.  We’ll create a kind of FAQ in terms of the most Frequently Asked Questions. We’ll eventually have this on the website so that you can see what other people are asking for, and the answers and so forth and so on, so that we’ll have a building level of data and information that you can take advantage of.

But again, we want to try to not overwhelm the staff. You can call Andrea. Her extension is at 805‐563‐2935. That’s our standard number that’s in the manual you have, and it’s extension 14.   If she’s there she’ll take the call. If she’s not, there’s a message box there and you can leave a message for her, and our commitment is to get back to you as fast as we can, usually within 24 hours, to let you know what we’re doing to handle that question.  That will begin to streamline some of the questions that are coming in, and also allow our staff not to be overwhelmed, and for you to get more efficient support on that.  Robert, if there’s anything you want to add to any of these things I say as we go along, you can jump in.  Robert:  Yeah, I will. I think you described it really well in terms of the reasoning behind it. Andrea has already been working with me. We’re just kind of formalizing the structure of it, but like you said, it all goes through funnel and we’ll get people the answers they need without having 12 different people kind of duplicating efforts.  Jack:  Good. There may be some questions we’re going to kick back to you and say, very simply, “Go to Google and type that in, or talk to a local lawyer.” Like someone asked us, “How do you set up a DBA?”   While we know that and we’ve done that, and I think Robin, who’s our accounting person who runs all of our finances – kind of our Chief Accounting Officer – did handle that question, but it took quite a bit of time and I think it’s the kind of thing you can find easily just by going to Google and putting in, “How do you create a DBA?” or ask your local courthouse.  So occasionally we may kick it back to you so that we don’t end up doing work that you could do yourself.  The second thing I want to address is we’ve gotten a number of questions about permissions and guidelines to use both the

Success Principles name and all the forms that were in the book.  As long as you’re in this program, you have permission to use any of the handouts, any of the forms that are in the Train the Trainer manual. The question came up and I think we got an email specifically from Sharon Worsley, where she said,   “I’m a bit confused on how we can use the material. I walked away from the course believing that so long as we gave full copyright credit to Jack, we could use the forms and materials etc.  “However, while going through the manual I found a letter dated October 11 titled, ‘To Whom It May Concern,’ where it expressly says we have to contact Jack to obtain written permission if we use the material in a workbook or manual that is sold. I take this to mean if we’re charging for our course and a workbook is included in the cost.”  So for now, go ahead and use anything you want. We have that in there about the written permission so that if we get to a point with anybody where we’re uncomfortable with your use of the material, we then have a way to kind of put a boundary on it and perhaps stop it.  I live in Hope Ranch, which is a gated community, and we have CC&Rs (Covenants, Codes & Restrictions). They’re very rarely enforced, but they’re there in case they need to be. If someone becomes an unruly neighbor, if someone’s running a business from their home, which they’re not supposed to, but many people do – real estate agents, architects, consultants etc – they don’t bother anybody –   But if that person ends up with too many cars parked on the street, or they’re making too much noise because they’re doing something in their wood shop or something, there is a way for the association to basically say, “You know, we have a rule against this, so you need to cease and desist,” so it’s there in case we need it.  For now, you have my blanket permission to use anything in there, especially the things we’ve covered already, so you’re

familiar with them and you’ve experienced them, and we’ll be covering more things that are in that manual that we didn’t get to, because there was no way we could have in that first training. So feel free to use them.  As far as naming your seminar, I don’t want you to call it The Success Principles Seminar, because that’s our brand name. We want to protect that, but find anyway you want to talk about success, creating success, rising to success, creating more success in your life and your business, success for entrepreneurs, success for parents – whatever you might want to do – or any other name you want.  Then the last question was, “How can we describe ourselves? As a Canfield trainer, trained by Jack Canfield…”  Right now I would describe yourself as being trained by Jack Canfield. You are in a training program with Jack Canfield, being trained to use these principles.  Once we finish the program you can say you’ve been trained by Jack Canfield. Eventually some of you will become certified, and that may be at the end of this training. It may be that we want to do more training with you to get you to a level where we can say you’re a Certified Canfield Trainer. We’re not there yet.  But for now you can describe yourself as you’ve attended a 7‐day Train the Trainer with Jack Canfield, you’re being trained by  Jack Canfield, you’re in a year‐long training program with Jack Canfield, or anything like that that you want, feel free to do.  If anyone has a clarifying question on that, you can indicate that by raising your hand.  Robert:  They can just press 1 if anyone has a clarifying question, and I will see their hand go up on my little screen here. John, you had a question?  John:  I did. Hey Jack, it’s John Reighard.  Jack:  Hi John.

John:  I’m curious about your PowerPoints. I know that I’ve asked Robert a little bit about this, but with all the things in the binder, I wondered if you meant your PowerPoints. The cartoons I’m clear about, we have to buy our own cartoons, but a lot of your PowerPoints set up a lot of great principles and set up a lot of the prophecies. It would take me more than a few days just to get the same slides down.   Is there a price you want to charge for that, or is there some way I can get a lot of those slides. I guess my point is can I get PowerPoint slides from you?  Jack:  What we’re going to do, and I don’t know exactly how soon, because originally when we created this program we were thinking at the end of the year’s training we would have all this done, but obviously we started asking you to do some training just to get it under your belt now, so we weren’t thinking about all the aspects of that when we started this.  So it probably won’t be immediately, but what I’m going to do is I’m going to take my slides and make a set of generic slides around some of the key principles that we’ll make available to you. We’ll probably remove a lot of the artwork and so forth, and I’ll probably give you some kind of a guide, like a PDF file, of some principles.  Like if I’m going to tell a story about someone, I will go to Google images and I’ll download an image of them and I’ll put it in my slide. If I’m going to talk about a book, I’ll put the book cover up there. I’ll go to Google images.  You want to get a fairly high resolution image, in the 300 dpi range. If you get 1000 or something you can just import it and then you can edit to a jpg level, because that’s all you need for a PowerPoint, and I’ll give some instructions on how to do that.  The reason I can’t put the artwork in there is that I’m not paid for that artwork. Some of it is copyright, some of it isn’t. I don’t really know which is which. I don’t much care, because pretty much it evaporates after I give the presentation.  But if I were to give it to you in the context of a program you’ve

paid for, then I would be violating copyright, so I want to protect myself from doing that. Basically you go to Google Images and type in W. Clement Stone, or type in Wayne Gretzky or Stan Goetz the jazz player, or whatever. I just do that.  If I’m doing like trust falls – I actually had a slide for that that we didn’t use in the training – but I just typed in trust falls into Google images and I saw 300 different pictures of trust falls. So had I put that slide up, you would have seen that.  Basically I’ll give you information on how to do that, and I’ll give you a lot of the word levels, like E+R=O, blame shame complain, the responsibility game, and things like that so that you won’t have to recreate that, and then you can play with them and try to make them your own or not. I don’t really care.  John:  I think the thing that helped me the most is the flow that you’ve refined. This slide goes here, here, here and here, because you’ve obviously tried and tested these things in the 1‐day and also the BTF, and that really is helpful.  The words themselves, definitely with my own branding I’ll put in play and all that stuff, no problem at all, but it’s the content, not the context that I need.  Jack:  Well, we’ll do that as soon as possible, and I would imagine it probably would be before the end of the year. We’re going into a period where I’m not as busy, but I also have to spend some time with my family to kind of make up for the time I didn’t this year. They’re expecting that, but I don’t see that as too much of a problem. I think we can get that out to you.  John:  Thank you.  Robert:  For the other people that are listening, Jack, I would also add that there’s something really valuable about creating your own slides and creating that kind of timing that John is talking about, because it gives you the opportunity to rehearse your presentation in your mind and literally go through it step by step and really prepare and get comfortable with how it’s all going to flow.

We can absolutely create that, and at the same time I would caution people about not stepping up and expecting that the slides are going to take you through the presentation, because there’s a really powerful learning that occurs going through your presentation in your mind, slide by slide, as they come up on your computer in front of you.  Jack:  That’s very true. I customize every presentation I do for every client. I might have 200 slides in a presentation. I’m very slide‐heavy because I like the graphics and it’s fun for me – it’s kind of an art form I get to play with – but as I go through the slides, I kind of take my basic set of slides and start to add this in, drop that out, add in a new story or something that’s related to that profession that they’re in or whatever –   What happens is I’m thinking about this, and I usually do it the week before, and then I go through the night before as well. I’ll go through all the slides one by one and I’ll start tweaking them a little bit. What’s happening is I’m preparing my unconscious to give that presentation the next day.  As Robert’s saying – and Robert’s been great at creating slides for his presentations – he did a presentation at the Transformational Leadership Council that blew everyone away just because of the quality of the slides, the funniness, the humor, the sequencing, the personalization of it all – so it is a way to force yourself to think about it.  But anyway, we will get you some generic set of slides, like for a 1‐day presentation.  Robert:  That TLC presentation is a perfect example, because that’s a presentation that I had never done before, but in the process of creating the slides and doing it in my mind several times while I did it and then refining, it was able to be a presentation that looked like I had done it before.  Sue also had a question.  Sue:  Hi everyone, it’s Sue Lemus. You talk about us being able to say that we’re being trained by you. I typically use the word that you’re my mentor.

Jack:  That’s fine too. I don’t care.  Sue:  Can we use that the same way?  Jack:  Yeah, I think for now it’s okay. Mentor usually means a little more one‐on‐one kind of a relationship, but I don’t have any problem with that.  Sue:  Okay, perfect. Thank you.  Jack:  You’re welcome.  Robert:  And then there was one more. Sharon had a question as well.  Sharon:  Hey Jack, how are you doing?  Jack:  I’m fine, Sharon.  Sharon:  Thank you for answering my question. I have one more and it’s concerning the manual. By the way, I’ve got to tell you, I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m continually blown away every time I go through the manual to see how much there is and how much detail, so thank you.  Jack:  You’re welcome.  Sharon:  The question is will we be getting a soft copy of the manual, and if so sooner than later preferably.  Jack:  By soft copy do you mean a digital file?  Sharon:  Yeah, so if we’re putting together a program where we’re taking certain elements to put it together, we don’t have to type out everything ourselves, we can just move it across – not necessarily to make a workbook, but rather for our own teaching guide of what we’re doing.  Jack:  Yeah, we’ll get that to you. I’m not sure how fast that will happen either, because I know it’s something you guys asked for at the training, and we’re just now recovering from having done

that training and then the platinum group before that, and now the advanced training. We’re just now beginning to focus on going back and handling all the stuff that we committed to there.  I’ll have to talk with Patty. She’s gone for the next week, but as soon as she’s back we’ll get on that one.  Sharon:  Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.  Jack:  You’re very welcome.  Robert:  Jesse and I can get a head start on that before Patty returns too.  Jack:  That’s fine, so whatever you guys can work out, that would be great, Robert.  Is there anything else, or can we move on?  Robert:  We can absolutely move on.  Jack:  Okay. One of the things we asked you for was a 30‐day letter, which is due I think today. Don’t panic if you don’t have it done by today, but I would like it by the end of this weekend, meaning that if you need to get through this week and then work on it on Saturday or whatever –   It doesn’t have to be overly long, but I’d like to know anything that you’ve been experiencing on the upside, good news, successes, victories, breakthroughs, aha’s that you’re having now that you’re back home, and any accomplishments that you’ve done.  I’d also like to know any challenges you’re facing, anything that’s difficult, any suggestions now that you’re out for 30 days that you might have for things we can do to support you, or things we might have done in the training that would have been useful, like some of the things we’re talking about on the call now.  Just any personal stuff that’s going on for you – you’re happier or more peaceful, or you’re more anxious because you’ve got so

much more to do – whatever it might be, just let us know.  That would be helpful for us, both in terms of monitoring with you guys and also making sure everyone’s okay, and also getting feedback on any ways we can serve you and also any ways we can improve things in the future. We do want you to do that, so please take responsibility. You made the commitment and we want you to keep your agreements.   Any questions on that one?  Okay. One of the things I want to talk about, we got some questions and some people talking about the idea of having gotten home and needing to deal with a spouse or a partner or a business partner who wasn’t at the training, who’s maybe not as open to growth or is not as excited about you being away, and how this work may take you more away – all those kinds of things.  We’ve had people both in the advanced training and Train the Trainer who’ve talked about difficult marriage relationships, wishing their husband was a better father to their children, more attentive to them, more loving, more kind, more invested in personal growth – whatever it might be.  We had one of those come up in the advanced training, and I’ve been thinking about it deeply for the last couple of days, and have some thoughts I’d like to share with you.   I’m going to put together kind of a handout that I’m probably going to give people at the end of trainings in the future about how to deal with going back home to a spouse, especially one who might be a little more challenging.  I’ll send that to all of you, as well as I’m going to send it to everyone in the advanced training when I get it done, which will be sometime in the next couple weeks, but I’m going to give you some of the key points now that you can think about.  One of the things that happens is that we often think when we go home, we kind of want our husband or our wife or our business partner or whatever to be more like everyone else was

in the training.   They’re meditating, they’re loving, they’re non‐judgmental, they’re supportive, they’re hugging you, they’re brainstorming with you, they’re like your mastermind group and your accountability partner, and they’re just eager to learn and grow, and that’s not always the case.  In addition to the resentment of you being away, there’s just the natural nature of their personality style, their patterns of habits, etc that are getting in the way, and the easy thing to do is to resent them and to wish they would be different and to think that they’re the one that needs to change, and obviously life would be better if they did.  But the fact is, you’re the one who took the training, you’re the one who’s growing, so we want to focus on what can you do in relation to them without necessarily pushing them or getting mad at them or telling them they need to change. That can actually help the situation, so that if you’re going to be in it, you can help make you feel better in that process.  So a couple things are this. First, I’m going to suggest that when you find yourself judging or wishing your partner were different, what it is you’re focusing on is the negative aspects of them, and we know that what you focus on you get more of. You’re blaming them for being a certain way that if they would change would make it easier for you.  What we want you to do is to realize that you can change in those areas, and that may be more uncomfortable. There’s a belief you have that they should be different, so we’re going to approach this in a number of ways.  The first one is several ways to send positive loving energy to this person instead of negativity. In one of the interactions we had in the advanced training we realized that when this husband was coming home and not paying attention to the wife, and she would ask him, “How are you doing today? How was work?” he would just kind of mumble something and walk through the kitchen and disappear. Then there was a sense of “Now I’m mad at him and he’s a bad guy,” and all that, so now I’ve added

negativity to the negativity.  When someone’s in that space where they’re not being loving and kind and gentle and all the things you want them to be, there’s a reason for that. They have in the past been wounded in some way and made a decision to protect themselves. Sometimes it looks like withdrawal, sometimes it looks like hostility, whatever it might be, but it’s all coming from them attempting to protect themselves.  A couple of ways you can send positive energy – first is you can do what we call the lovingkindness prayer or lovingkindness meditation. It’s simply this. As they’re walking through the room or after they leave, visualize them if they’re not there, or as you’re looking at them maybe as they’re sitting there reading the newspaper, you can say the following, and I’d like you to take notes on this and write this down.  The first thing you would do is say, “May you be safe from harm.” There’s four steps to this. This comes from the Buddhist Metta Bhavana meditation. It’s the lovingkindness meditation. You’re just wishing them to be safe from harm.  This is a way of getting you out of negativity and into positivity. Remember there’s something we teach called the Law of Replacement. You can not get rid of a negative unless you replace it with a positive. This is a very important principle and this works.  If you stop smoking, what most people do is they start eating more, so they replace how to numb out the anxiety that comes up, which is why they want to smoke, with food.   If you’ve ever been to an AA meeting, almost everybody smokes and they eat lots of cookies. They’re replacing one way of managing anxiety with another way of smoking and food. If you stop smoking, a lot of times people will get fatter.  We want to replace the negative with something positive, like exercise, or getting a hug in the AA and food examples and smoking example. But here we’re going to replace a negative judgment with a positive intentional replacement of thinking in

a loving kind way. So the first thing you say is, “May you be safe from harm.” You’re doing this silently inside yourself.  The second thing you’ll think or say is, “May you be healthy and strong.”  The third thing is, “May you be happy and content.”   I remember we had a Chicken Soup for the Soul story, a Sufi teaching story that comes out of a mystical mission of Islam. The Sufis were people that would help break through the normal conditioned belief systems they had with these very powerful stories that just kind of pop a concept.  There was this Sufi master and he was walking down the road, and this man came up behind him and stole his horse and stole all his money. As he was riding away, the Sufi master yelled at him, “May you be very happy and successful in your whole life.”  The thief was dumbfounded. Why would somebody just robbed say, “May you be happy and successful your whole life”? He thought that was very strange. Normally they’d be yelling swear words at him as he rode away.  So he came back on the horse and he said, “Why would you possibly wish me that after I robbed you?”  He said, “Because if you were happy and successful, you wouldn’t need to go around robbing people, so I’m wishing that for you so you’ll be able to change.”  The idea here is we’re focusing on instead of having a negative reaction to things, having a positive reaction, wishing people the best. As they receive this energy, even though it’s not verbal, we know from the work of Masaru Emoto and all the things we talked about in the seminar with the water crystals and so forth, that thought actually travels through the air, and the emotion of that thought is picked up by the person you’re sending it to.  So when you’re negatively judgmentally evaluating your partner, they’re picking that up, which makes them want to withdraw or fight back even more fully, so we’re replacing that.

The last thing we say is, “May you live a life of ease.” So we’re just replacing the negative with –   May you be safe from harm.  May you be healthy and strong.  May you be happy and content.  May you live a life of ease.  That’s one thing you can do.  The other thing is a work that comes to us through Joe Vitale and his work with a Hawaiian Huna, which are the shamans of Hawaii, and it’s called Ho'oponopono. This is work that Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len did in the mental hospitals in Hawaii, where he was working with people that were violent offenders, so violent that the orderlies didn’t even want to go into their ward.  He wouldn’t even interact with the patients in any kind of therapeutic way. He might occasionally play ping pong with them or watch a movie on TV with them, but he was never doing any kind of therapeutic dialog or interaction or sessions, like we would think he might do.  He would take each of their files every day, he would go through their file, and then he would think about that person, bring them into his heart, and then he would say the following words, and you want to write these down.  “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”  What he’s saying is, “I’m sorry for anything I might have done that would have contributed to you turning out the way you did.” Like we don’t fund our schools adequately in America. We take all our money and we spend it on wars.   If we spent even 1/5 of the money we spent on war towards schools, education, counseling, drug addiction programs etc, we wouldn’t have people in mental wards, or it would be much less.  By us not working to fight that kind of thing to change the priorities, to vote for the right people, to campaign for them so

we have more humane practices, we are responsible at some level.   So he’s saying, “I’m sorry for anything I might have done that participated in you turning out the way you turned out.  “Please forgive me for my role, for anything I might have contributed or done consciously or unconsciously.  “Thank you for this opportunity to learn and grow and be part of your unfoldment.  “I love you.”  So it’s, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you,” and to really be with those feelings toward that person. And after awhile you’ll learn, it’ll just be automatic, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”   You can really focus in on that. You can meditate on that when you’re doing your meditation towards this person, in this case your spouse or a difficult child or a difficult person you’re working with at work.  The third thing we call positive aspects. Maybe your husband isn’t the greatest with the kids. Maybe he’s not the most loving or the best in bed or whatever it might be, but what are the positive aspects?  He brings a paycheck home, he takes the kids to the zoo on Sundays, he cooks a mean barbeque every Friday night for the family and the neighborhood, he gets along well with your in‐laws, he’s teaching your son to play football, he’s a great mechanic on the car and keeps it running, he does do certain things for you, whatever it might be.   Start focusing on the positive aspects and thinking about those, meditating on them, perhaps even writing a note of appreciation.  We have a Chicken Soup for the Soul story about a woman who was upset that her husband never appreciated her. One of the

basic principles we have in this work is whatever you’re wanting from someone and you’re not getting, go ahead and give it to them.  So if I’m wanting appreciation from my wife and I’m not getting it, then what I do is I choose to give her appreciation, and in the process of appreciating her, I am now in a state of appreciation as opposed to a state of unappreciation.  I can give myself what I’m wanting. I can start appreciating myself, acknowledging myself, giving myself time, love, hanging out with nice people, going to the salon and getting a massage or whatever, but also giving that to my husband or wife.  When I was on Oprah with The Secret, there was a couple in the audience, a young black couple, probably in their early 30’s or late 20’s. I remember this woman saying when she watched The Secret she realized that what you put out is what you get back.  She started doing acts of kindness and love for her husband every morning, and she was saying, “I was thinking I wanted to leave him and our marriage was over. This sucked. I didn’t want to be in it anymore.”  She said, “Every morning I thought, ‘What can I do as an act of kindness and love for him?’” and one morning she put a $5 bill in his shoe and said, “This is for your first cup of coffee at Starbucks this morning. When you’re drinking it, remember I love you.” She might put a rose in his sock drawer so when he opened his sock drawer there was a little note with a rose, “Just wanted you to know I love you.”  She did this every day for a month, and she said at the end of the month her husband was coming home, he was being attentive to her, he was calling her in the middle of the day saying he loved her, so by giving away what it was she wanted, she activated that in him, by focusing on giving that which she wanted to get.  They were sitting there in the front row the whole time holding hands, arms around each other like love birds, so we’ve got a number of principles here.

We’ve got replacing the negative thought with a positive, and we’ve looked at the Buddhist meditation of lovingkindness. We’ve looked at the Ho'oponopono technique of, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”   We’ve looked at focusing on the positive aspects and appreciating those. You can write in your appreciation journal or your gratitude journal. You can do it mentally. You can write them a thank you note focusing on what they do do well, and giving away what it is you want to get. In other words, give them what you’re not getting from them.  The other thing, and this will be the last one I think for now, is that most of our upset with whoever we’re upset with is because we think they should be doing something they’re not, or they shouldn’t be doing something they’re doing.  I would just remind everybody that you can go to www.TheWork.com, and it’s the website for Byron Katie. Click on the Resources button, and then on the left side of the page after you get there it will say “The one belief at a time worksheet,” and I would download that. It tells you how to take a belief and work it through. There’s the “Judge your neighbor worksheet,” which will help you get in touch with what judgments you do have toward your spouse or anyone else. Then there’s a page called, “Instructions for doing the work,” so you ask four questions about the belief.  “I believe my husband should be kinder to the children.” Is it true? Is it true that he should?  The second question is, “Do you absolutely know it’s true?” When you really get down to it, you can’t really know absolutely that anything is true. It’s just a belief you have. It’s a belief that a lot of people may hold, and therefore you think it’s a cultural belief, but you can go to another culture and they’d have a totally different belief.  Then, “How do you react? What happens when you believe that thought?” Well, I feel angry or I feel upset or I feel distant from my husband. I don’t want to hang out with him. It makes me

irritable around the kids. I feel like I want to kill him.  Then, “Who would you be without that belief?” I would be happier. I would just let him be who he is and I would be what I am, and I could give the children what I want to give them, etc.  Then we turn it around and that’s the last part. “I should be more loving to the children. I should be more loving to my husband. I should be more loving to myself. I should treat myself better.”  What happens is as you go through this set of questions, you literally begin to have a transformation in your consciousness. You begin to see how most of what we’re doing is projecting out to others things that are really things we need to do in ourselves. We begin to realize that all of our beliefs are just stuff we made up.  I was looking at her website today as I was thinking of having you all go there, and making sure I was taking you to the right place. She has a list of universal beliefs that get people in trouble.  One of her beliefs, and I want to work with this a little, is a belief that we have a life purpose, and the belief that we should know what it is. We see so many people in this work when they go to our one‐day workshop or they buy the book, they get stuck on the second chapter, “Be clear why you’re here. Get in touch with your purpose.”  Well, what if it’s valuable to have a purpose, and you can do some practices and you can get in touch with one perhaps, or you can make it up. You can do a number of different exercises that we do to kind of get you in touch with your purpose.  But for some people, maybe they’re never going to get in touch with their purpose, other than what they choose it to be. “I’m going to believe that my purpose is to be a good mom or a good dad, or to be a great artist,” or whatever, and there is nothing to get in touch with that’s universally locked into us. There’s a lot of pain out there with people thinking they haven’t found it.

There’s some things I believe that I think are true based on my experience, but I think if we hold it lightly, rather than hold it as a certainty, things we don’t really know, we just learned in the workshop or Jack said or something like that, it can be a lot easier.   In general you want to do the work around these ideas and beliefs you have. Then you’ll have your own experience to come from in terms of the greater inner peace it gives you and the sense of joy.  I would encourage you when you go to her website, there’s about eight or nine video clips that are on YouTube. You just click on it and it takes you to YouTube to watch it.   Most of them are 4, 5, or 6 minutes. I think there’s one that’s 12 minutes, but if you watch those you’re going to begin to get a sense of how you can actually work with people. It can be a tool you use in your seminars.  We’ve only got about 18 more minutes and I don’t want to spend too much time on this question, because there are a number of other things that you’ve asked and you’re interested in, but if anyone has a real quick question on this, you can indicate that and, Robert, you can let me know.  Robert:  You can press 1. I had a couple of just real quick things I wanted to add. If people were interested in that Joe Vitale work, the Hawaiian work, the book he wrote about that is called Zero Limits and it’s a very worthwhile book.  Then I would just also remind people, as far as that whole idea of going out and giving what we most want to receive, we all had an experience of that, a really profound experience of that, at Train the Trainer, where we all went around and whispered in each other’s ears what we most wanted to hear, and yet what we ended up hearing from everyone else turned out to also be what we wanted to hear in so many cases, so we really shared a profound experience there.  Jack:  That’s a good point.

Robert:  If anybody did have a question about this, they can press 1. I’m not seeing any hands going up, because they’re anxious for you to go on to whatever you have next for them.  Jack:  Okay. Someone wrote in, and I think talked also in one of the coaching calls, about responding to critical feedback from an audience member. I think someone said, “This stuff is bullshit.” That could kind of take you off‐guard if you’re not careful.  I want to talk just a little bit about that kind of issue, how to avoid it, and also what to do if it happens.  First of all, let’s be clear about the difference between a captive audience and a paid audience, meaning that a captive audience is when you’ve been asked to come into a company, let’s say by a vice president, and they want you to change their company, help these people get it together, sell more stuff, be a better team, be more efficient, whatever it might be, and those people don’t necessarily want to be sitting in a training room.  Some of them are uncomfortable. They’re afraid of what might happen, so they can be very resistant. They’ll sit with their arms and legs crossed. They’ll look at you mean. They’ll sit in the back of the room.   I’ve even had people reading the newspaper in the back of a training when I went into corporations or school systems. Teachers would stand in the back of the room and wouldn’t even sit in a chair. People were grading their papers from their students, etc.  Obviously when you’re in a captive situation, there’s a lot more enrolling to do than there is if someone’s all excited because they’ve met you, heard about you, or heard about our work or whatever, and they really want to be there.  Generally you’re going to get this more in a captive situation, where someone’s been dragged to a seminar by their spouse or whatever, and usually when they say this they’re very uncomfortable. There’s something that’s confronting their way of being. It’s requiring them to grow, be vulnerable, whatever it might be.

Normally if someone was really vulnerable they’d say, “I’m really uncomfortable with this. It’s making me realize that I don’t feel comfortable with sharing my feelings.” Like when people hug, it often brings up past physical and sexual abuse issues and so forth.  Know that all anger is dramatized fear, and if you speak to the angry person you’re just going to have anger going back and forth. They’ll feel attacked by you, which will make them more defensive.   People only defend when they think they’re being attacked, so you’re reminding them of something that’s going to come up from the inside that they don’t want to experience, or something from the outside, of being pushed into something by you that they don’t want to experience.  The last thing you want to do is get angry back, or get defensive yourself, because now you’ve got two walls talking to each other, or you’ve got somebody hurling bombs and the other person trying not to get exploded.  What you want to do is realize that there’s something underneath that that you want to get to. A number of things occurred to me just in terms of immediate responses, and then we’ll talk about maybe how to do some things so you don’t end up with that kind of response in the first place.  What I would say in general is if somebody said to me something like, “This stuff is all bullshit,” I’d say, “I hear that, John. You think this is all bullshit. What do you mean by that?”  So you want to stay as calm as you can, because it may activate something in you, like when you got attacked by your dad for not doing it right, and here you are in your mind thinking you’re not doing this right. But as much as possible just stay calm and ask a clarifying question.  “John, what about this is bullshit? Is it all bullshit? Is just some of it bullshit? Which things are you referring to specifically?”

It might be a direction you just gave him, or something you said, but find out what it is that’s really going on, because with, “This is all bullshit,” there’s not a lot of specific information in that.  Now once they’ve told you what it is, then you can do a number of things. You can begin to explain why you think this is a valuable thing to do. Quite often in groups that are very mentally identified, like lawyers and so forth, engineers, if there’s research you have – we’ll try to give you that; we’ll give more research to back up all this as we go along – that can be helpful.  Another thing is, “John, there was a time I felt this was bullshit too.” Now you’re agreeing with them. You’re empathizing with their position. “I thought it was bullshit because XYZ,” and you can kind of empathize with what they’re saying.  “What I learned was….” and “As I began to….” whatever the movement is that they need to make, “…began to open up and allow myself to feel my feelings, or began to realize that treating people kindly or appreciating people or doing affirmations or whatever it is, once I gave myself permission to actually experiment with this, what I found is that it worked for me, that I doubled my income,” or whatever it is.  You begin to get on their side, kind of an Aikido approach. You don’t fight the energy, you blend with it. “I can see how you feel that way. I felt that way myself,” or “80% of the people that come to these workshops feel this way. How many other people feel like John?” so John doesn’t feel like he’s the outcast. You can do a handraising thing.  Then you can speak to the fear underlying or the research that’s there or the value in participating. It’s kind of like when Marcia Wieder was working with us on enrollment. Perhaps you haven’t established enough value about why someone should do this, so that’s a core piece of that.  Another thing you can say is, “You know, John, not everything I’m teaching is exciting or relevant or the next step for each person here. We’re all different, we’re all at different stages of our development, we all have different things we’re learning or

we need to learn, so what I’m going to suggest is that you treat today like a buffet.  “When you go through a buffet you don’t put everything in the buffet on your plate. You just take the things that seem to be appealing to you at that moment, and hopefully you’ll eat them, and the things you don’t like you leave.  “You can experiment today and just try on some of these things. If you like them, add them to your repertoire of things to do, and if you don’t, leave them. What I’ve found is that you don’t really know if they work or not unless you try them, so I’m going to encourage you to do the exercises, and the worst you’ll do is you’ll have wasted 5 or 10 minutes of your life,” or whatever it might be.  Another thing is, depending on what they bring up, you could say, “John, do you have everything you want in your life? Is it all working perfectly?”  If they say, “Yeah, I’ve got everything I want in my life. I’m happy.”  “Good. You don’t sound happy, you sound angry.” Depending on how skilled you want to go in and deal with those kinds of emotions, but basically most people say, “No, I don’t have everything I want.”  You can say, “Why are you here?”  “Well, my boss sent me here.” Or if you say, “Why are you here?” they’ll say, “Well, I want more.”  “Well, John, I believe that what we’re doing here can give you more, but it requires having an open mind. Would you be willing for six hours to suspend judgment, to suspend the beliefs you currently  have, and just act as‐if for six hours there might be something valuable for you here, and be open to at least listening, experimenting, trying it on – kind of like you try on a coat when you go to a store where you buy clothes. You try it on and see what it looks like. You don’t know until you try it on.

“See if you’d be willing to experiment with that. Would you be open to the possibility that there might be some value here?”  If they say, “No, I’m not open to it at all,” then say, “Well, then maybe this isn’t the place for you today.”  If they say, “My boss is making stay here,” you say, “Then you’re going to have to sit there and do the best you can to get through the day,” or if it’s a workshop you say, “You know, if you want your money back, I’m really glad to have you get that.”  The last thing I would suggest is that you work with this idea of creating credibility before you even start. When I do my one‐day workshop, and I’ll show you how I do a one‐hour workshop, I always start with some slides of people that have been successful doing this work.   I’ll say, “Here’s Scott Schilling. In so many days he almost made one‐fifth of his income in just two weeks after the seminar, one‐fifth of his annual income. Here’s a woman, a real estate agent, she tripled her income in one year using all these principles.”  I’ll talk about the book, and I’ll make sure these are slides that you get to get the pictures, like John was talking about earlier.  “I interviewed 75 people when I wrote The Success Principles. These are all successful entrepreneurs, successful sports people…” and these are people that a lot of them know and have heard of. These principles come from them, so there’s going to be a lot of credibility going in.  They go, “Oh wow, he’s helped all these people double their income and double their time off and write books and all that. Maybe there’s some value here, so I’m willing to suspend some disbelief for awhile,” so you can build that into the beginning.  Any questions on what I’ve said so far?  Robert:  One thing that I learned from experience, and also got a powerful reminder of from Teresa Huggins’ book about pausing, the concept of pausing and taking a breath, because sometimes when someone attacks us like that, the first instinct is to kind of

fight back and defend ourselves.  If we pause and take a breath, first of all it seems to diffuse the situation, and second of all it gives us the opportunity to maybe have a couple of different options come to mind as far as ways that we can approach the situation. Just that idea of taking a pause and being thoughtful about it, as opposed to just responding from our gut.  Jack:  Yeah, take a deep breath, because if you’re in fear or if you’re in reactive anger – and remember anger is just dramatized fear – we’ll teach you a model called the total truth process at one of our trainings that you can use in a written format or just as you’re working someone through feelings.  Remember that all anger is fear, so we want the person to feel safe, we don’t want to make them look stupid in front of the group, and we want to involve them and keep them included.  I think I mentioned once that there was a guy, one of our TLC members, I was reading his book and he talked about how he was giving a talk. Two companies had merged, and the one company was not real happy about it.  This guy said something very similar to, “This is all bullshit,” and Lance Secretan just said to the participant, he took a deep breath and he thought, “Whatever I say is going to determine whether this contract continues or I even get the job here as a consultant.”  He just paused for a moment, he looked at the guy, and sometimes just letting people hang out and having said something – I remember one teacher said to me once, “When someone says something like that, say, ‘Could you say that again, John?’”  When someone says, “That’s bullshit,” and then they have to say it again, it’s almost like it’s jumped out of them and now they have to kind of hang out in it a little bit, and then you pause.  Then he said, “What came to me to say was, ‘You know, John, I can understand how you’re frustrated, but I’m wondering if you

glad that he was stepping up to the plate and saying, “Look, I don’t want to agree to this, this, this, and this.”  I was doing a workshop once for a group of teachers. We were doing a 3‐day workshop and one of the guidelines was no alcohol, because alcohol stunts your awareness and we were going to be working intensively for three days, and a lot of it was going to be around dealing with emotions in the classroom, which meant they had to be comfortable with their emotions.  Two women said, “There’s no way we’re not going to go out and drink margaritas after this,” so I said, “Then you need to leave the workshop, because I’m not willing to work with you if you’re not willing to play full out,” and they left.  What it left for the rest of the group was, “Ooo, this guy’s serious,” because a lot of people won’t hold guidelines. It’s important to hold guidelines, but it’s important not to hold guidelines that are not that important, because then you look frivolous, you look like you’re a tyrant, or you look like whatever.  In that case, I was fine with him not having those agreements, because I don’t think they were critical to the success of the workshop. You have to determine.  I gave a workshop once where a guy came up to me, and we used to say, “If you have any disagreements, go to that table and you can register them in the back of the room.” There was a guy who was kind of a spiritual teacher, a very evolved guy, and he went to the back and said, “I want an exception to every rule.”  He said, “I live my life by following my own inner guidance, and if my inner guidance directs me that I need to be doing something else at a certain time than what I’ve agreed to here, I don’t want to be breaking an agreement,” and we gave him an exception to every guideline, because we really felt that’s where he was coming from and I think that’s a great way to live your life.  Obviously if we said, “We’re going to stay in the room,” but the ceiling fell in and everyone ran out, we wouldn’t say they broke their agreement, so we want to have rules that make sense and

allow people to have exceptions to it.  What was going on in my mind was, “Oh, this is curious. Let’s see how this plays out. Let’s explore with this guy where he’s coming from. Is he being rebellious? Is he testing me? Is he just a conscious person who wants to be in his own integrity?” You can’t know that until you interact with a person.  John:  It was very interesting. As we all know that were there, a lot of us were able to look at our boundaries, about how we accept things that we shouldn’t accept. At first I was real mad on your behalf, I guess, but then I went, “Wait, this guy’s got a point.”  Jack:  I think the best thing you can do – just write this in big letters if you’re taking notes – just write the word CURIOSITY so it fills up a fourth of the page, because you never know.  This is one of the things I’ve been learning from Byron Katie. It’s hard to know anything for sure. We often think we know, and often when you’re taking a training class like this you learn something because I said it. You don’t fully understand all the depth behind it, then you try to enforce something you don’t even fully understand.  The more you struggle with these things and engage them and live through an experience like that guy in the training, then the more depth you’ll have for the understanding of it.   That’s why doing the Byron Katie work I think is so valuable for people, is it gets you into a place of, “Oh, I’m curious. What is he doing? What is he thinking? Why is he doing this?” as opposed to, “Oh damn it. Now I’ve got to deal with this. I’ve got all this stuff to get through and he’s screwing up my design.” Maybe what he’s doing is teaching a very valuable lesson.  Robert:  Jeannie had a question as well.  Jeannie:  Yes, Jack, I was there when this gentleman talked about not wanting to agree to some of those guidelines. I was very curious about you and how you create an atmosphere of safety, but in that situation he was jeopardizing the safety of the

whole group.   What came to my mind was I don’t want him next to me, because I don’t want him to side talk with me. I don’t want him to arrive late during my meditation. So over time I calmed myself down and opened up to the curiosity of what that was going to lead me to, but it was just really based on my trust in you, Jack, to be able to withstand that tension of not knowing how the next four days were going to evolve.  Could you say a little bit about that? Some people might not have been able to comfort themselves and see where this will go. You were taking a risk by allowing this person to do that. Could you say a little bit more about that?  Jack:  Let me ask you a question first, which is how did his behavior affect you the rest of the workshop?  Jeannie:  It kind of was in my mind everywhere, even the cocktail party time, and just felt that he’s not playing full out with me, how could I really play full out with him.  Jack:  There’s a really valuable lesson you can look at there, for you and for other people. That is do you allow other people to stop you from playing full out? It’s kind of like, “If you’re not going to play full out, I’m not going to play full out,” and who’s in charge of you playing full out?  Jeannie:  Yes, I kind of wanted to not participate fully with him. Even though that became in the back of my mind further and further with time, it was something that I had to manage. I’m sure that’s in many, many other situations where people are disappointed in certain people’s performances, and I have to deal with it.  It’s just this sense that maybe I trust you, Jack, that you take care of so many things in managing expectations and creating safety, this one was one loophole that I had to manage on my own, which was interesting.  Jack:  Here’s my experience. I didn’t notice him not doing anything throughout the whole training. I didn’t see him coming

in late. I didn’t see him side talking. It doesn’t mean he didn’t do it, but I didn’t notice it. It certainly didn’t affect me at all.  Like I said, I think there were 16 or 17 agreements, and he only wanted exceptions to five of them. I gave him four for sure. I can’t remember about the fifth one. They didn’t seem critical to me, and I didn’t notice anything negative happening as a result of it.  Now what you could do, if you’re feeling as the trainer you’re uncomfortable, you could say, “Ed just agreed that he didn’t want to keep these agreements, and I’ve given him permission not to. How does that affect you guys? How many people feel less safe, and let’s talk about it. Jan, tell me about why you feel less safe?”  The things he was doing didn’t seem like they really affected safety. Now if he wasn’t willing to agree to confidentiality, or he wasn’t willing to agree to something else – I don’t have them all in front of me at the moment – but that I might have said, “If you’re not willing to agree to confidentiality, then you can’t be here, because it will make other people feel unsafe to share,” but he didn’t have that one.  I would just play it by ear and you can find out. In other words, there’s a wonderful term called “when in doubt, check it out.” If you’re not sure how that’s affecting the group, ask.  One thing for me, I wasn’t clear whether the length of the meditation was too long or too short or just the right amount, so I asked you guys. The majority said it was just about the right length, so that’s what we stayed with.  Jeannie:  And you could have handled this differently had it been in a different group with different expectations, different levels of connection with you.  Jack:  Absolutely. Everything is contextual, meaning what you might do if people’s lives were at stake, or what you might do in a training company where you’re trying to get everyone to really commit to play 100%, then I might say, “How many people here work with Joe? How do you feel when you’re working with Joe?”

“I kind of feel like he doesn’t keep his agreements.”  “How does that affect the whole group? How does that affect the bottom line?”  Then I might work harder to get Joe to play full out and experience what that’s like for a week, so it really depends on the context.  Jeannie:  Beautiful. Thank you.  Jack:  You’re welcome.  I’m aware we’re a little bit over time. I’m willing to stay a little longer, but Robert, you need to tell me what you want to do.  Robert:  We have another call at 4, so we do have a few more minutes if there’s something else you want to cover, or if you want to open it up for people to be able to ask questions, we could take a couple questions maybe.  Jack:  Yeah, why don’t we open it up. If anyone has a question they can raise their hand and you can call on them.  Robert:  People can raise their hand by pressing 1. We have Jeannie again.  Jeannie:  Yes, I just want to know about your next 1‐day workshop, and how do we sign up to be an assistant to those?  Jack:  I’ll let Robert answer that question.  Robert:  If you didn’t give me a card at the Train the Trainer event, then you can simply email me and let me know that you’re interested. I think we’re pretty much going to be able to accommodate any Train the Trainer people who would like to assist with us, because I think it will be a really powerful experience for anyone who’s going in and teaching this work.  If you gave me a card, I should have it. If you want to email me just to verify that and let me know which one you’d like to be at,

we did just add Dallas to our schedule, so we’re going to be in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, and Seattle. Just let me know which one that you would like to be a part of.  Jack:  Do they have all those dates yet, Robert?  Robert:  I’m not sure if we’ve actually sent the dates out to the whole group. I know I’ve answered that question a lot individually.  Jack:  Why don’t we make sure that Andrea gets that out, the locations and the dates, and then they can decide where they live and where they’d like to travel to.  Robert:  Perfect. I’ll make sure that’s in the next message that goes out to the entire group.  Jeannie:  Thank you.  Robert:  Sure. Dinyah had a question.  Dinyah:  My question just got answered. It was about the dates.  Robert:  Okay. We’ll send that out. Next is Alicia.  Alicia:  Yes. Hi everybody. Jack, I have a question. As you know, I’m very new to this business, but I have a workshop tomorrow in Paris with headhunters and human resources, so this would be my question.  It’s the first workshop I’ve ever done in my life, so if you have any advice for me I’m ready to listen.  Jack:  [laughing] Just review your notes.  Alicia:  [laughing] Yes, I’ve done that!  Jack:  The main thing is this. When you go in there, just know tomorrow when you do this that you can’t be any more prepared than you are, meaning the level you know is what you know. You can’t know more than that, and you don’t know less than that.

But also know that you know more than most of those people, probably all those people in the room, because they haven’t been studying this like you have.  The other thing is, whatever it is that you want to teach that you’ve got in your outline and your handout or whatever it might be, just know that you may not get through everything, but you’re the only one who knows you didn’t.  You don’t have to try and rush and get everything in at the end. You don’t have to worry that you left something out, because you’re the only one who knows you left it out.  Now if it’s in a handout, what I always tell people up front is, “You know, we may not get to everything today. I’ve put things in the handout and they’re there if we need them. If we don’t cover everything in there it’s not because I screwed up, it’s because we didn’t need to.” So take that pressure off yourself. Then just do the best you can with what you know.   I promise you there will be things you learn in the process. And when it’s over, when you’re reviewing it – if you do an evaluation, or if you don’t, either one, depends how you do it – when you get the evaluation either from them or from your own thinking about the day, remember you can’t do anything about what you did or didn’t do. You did the best you could, so don’t beat yourself up.  Just allow yourself to say, “If I do this again next time, what would I change?” You’ll always see ways to make it better. “I could have had them move more often. I could have taken a break. Next time I’m going to do this, that, and the other thing,” and just really treat it lightly. It’s like a learning experience.  You’re there to give the best you can and to learn the best you can. Whatever you do, it’s going to be more than they had before you go there, so be really light with it and have fun with it. Trust yourself.  If there’s a time that you don’t know what to do or say, like Robert said, pause. Go inside for a moment. Just be relaxed. You

can say, “Give me a minute to think about that,” and then you can come up with an answer, or you can say, “You know, I don’t know the answer to that. Let me get back to you.” You can tell them you’ll call them or send them an email or something.  It’s okay not to know everything. You don’t have to know everything. Just know what you know.  Alicia:  Thank you.  Robert:  I think what Jack said about having fun is so critical, to go into this and just be willing to have fun with it. Also I’m thinking back to what Norry shared in our group on I think the third or fourth day of our week in San Diego, about just showing up and really being who you are.  Just be grounded in who you are and your gifts and your desire to share it with people and your passion for this work. As long as you show up that way, there really aren’t any mistakes.  As Jack was saying, we can always find ways to do it even better. I watched him do that this past week in San Diego. We’re always looking for ways to do it better, but the power of the work is there, so have fun with it.  Alicia:  I will, I promise.  Robert:  Okay. Andrew had a question.  Andrew:  Hi Jack. You’ve talked a lot about how a lot of the emotions and outgrowths either come from a place of love or fear. Is there a resource that talks a little bit about the major human emotions and how they root back to those two primary ones?  Jack:  John Gray wrote a book called, If You Can Feel It, You Can Heal It. He talks about the total truth process that we talk about. Underneath all anger is fear. It goes anger, sadness, fear, so there’s fear and sadness underneath. It’s easier for most women to cry when they’re upset, and it’s easier for most men to get angry.

There’s also something called regret and remorse, wish I hadn’t, feel sorry for, and underneath that there’s the unfulfilled “I want. I just want people to love me or like me or pay attention to me or not hurt me.” Then there’s a level of forgiveness and appreciation. He talks about that in the book in great detail.   There’s also a writer by the name of Gerald Jamposky, who wrote Love is Letting Go of Fear. That was a very powerful book for me to read, a very thin little book.   I would say start with those.  Andrew:  Great, thank you.  Jack:  You’re welcome. Are there any other questions, Robert?  Robert:  We have Nagalakshmi from India to share with us.  Nagalakshmi:    Hi Jack, how are you?  Jack:  I’m fine. Namaste.  Nagalakshmi:     Namaste. Jack, I got an offer to conduct the Passion Test for one of the corporations in Delhi, and along with that also a few principles from the Success Principles workshop.  This is going to be for the top executives and decision makers. They’re interested in finding out the collective passion all those people have to work in the organization, so that they’re in sync with one another when they make a decision.  Now if I were to teach the principles of success to them, what would the format be like? Would it still be the 1‐day format that you had given, or would the principles have to be different?  Jack:  I think if you’re doing the Passion Test, if you look at the one‐day format, I would let the Passion Test replace the purpose exercises. It takes awhile to go through that with the Passion Test model.   I would probably add responsibility, E+R=O, I think that’s critical, and probably I would work with vision. Once they have a

passion, we want to go from vision to action steps, and what would it take to get into action and stay in action.  You could certainly add the Law of Attraction work in there, but I would just say however much time they’re willing to give you, then ask yourself, “Which principles are most important for me to teach, related to what it is they’re wanting to accomplish?”  It sounds like they want the whole organization to be committed passionately to the purpose and the goals of the organization, finding their own individual passion within that as well. Then things like working as a team, the power of feedback, getting into action – those would be the things I would focus on.  I think in a day you could do quite a bit. The mistake I make the most is I try to do too much in a day. Then I’m spending time constantly figuring out what am I going to drop toward the end, so I would plan to go in‐depth with a few things, and then have some things that you could do if you had more time, so you don’t overwhelm yourself.  Nagalakshmi:    In fact, it’s going to be for two days.  Jack:  If you have two days, you can pretty much do everything in that one‐day outline. You should be fine.  Nagalakshmi:     I was just wondering about the principles like believe in yourself and reject rejection – those things definitely do sound very good to individuals, especially so much to me. That’s why I am in the right track.  But at that level, the top executives, would you think that telling them again to believe in yourself and reject rejection would be appropriate?  Jack:  Only if you actually do an exercise around it. So if you do the asking exercise with the nine no’s and the one yes, I would think that would be very powerful. If you do the on‐course/off‐course demonstration with them, that would be very powerful.  The thing you want them to do is you want them to be clear about their vision and have clear goals that grow out of that. In

other words, once their passions are there, what are they going to do to actualize those passions? They need to have measurable objectives that they can measure and hold themselves to.  I would also work with getting accountability partners with them, or mastermind groups. I think that would be a very powerful thing for them.   Most people do not do the mastermind process or have an accountability partner. When you get high‐level executives supporting each other that way, it’s very, very powerful and very profound, so I would walk them through that process and I would have them actually do a mastermind group. Walk them through the steps so that they actually do it.  I would probably get them together with people they don’t normally interact with, so that you’re doing lots of bonding across the group.  Nagalakshmi:    Alright. Thank you very much, Jack.  Jack:  You’re very welcome.  Robert:  We’ve got a couple more hands up. I’m going to ask the people who didn’t get a question answered to just go ahead and contact me directly. I made a note of who has their hand up and we haven’t had a chance to get to, but we do have this other call that we’re supposed to get on.  Jack:  Robert, when you get those questions, if you want we can get on the phone and brainstorm answers to them that we can email back out to them, okay?  Robert:  Okay, great.  Let me unmute the line so everyone can say good night or good morning, depending on which part of the world they’re in. This was a great call. It’s just such an amazing group. I see all these names on the screen and it’s just like coming back to downtown San Diego.
