Prevention Grant Outcomes (Goal #1)
The program will promote healthy beliefs and clear standards about the importance of education and community involvement by serving a minimum of 35 “at-risk” 8-16 year old students and their respective parents/caregivers.

Prevention Grant (Objective #1)
The program will work intensely with minimum of 35 “at risk” 8 to 16 year-old students and will show progress by 50% (17-18) of the referred students will increase their level of bonding to school/community as shown by:
44 Participants: (89%) of students showing improvement in 1 or more of the above standards
(66%) showed improved attendance from established baseline
(89%) showed improved behavior, according to teacher and parent surveys and office referrals
(68%) showed improvements in grade point averages before and after program enrollment/activity
(100%) showed improved community involvement by now having participated in planned community activities
Prevention Grant (Objective #2)
Staff will engage the families/caregivers of referred at-risk students. Minimum of 6 will show increased involvement by attending at least 1 community/school-based activity and at least 2 prevention-based parent workshops. 50% of those participating in workshops will show an increase in knowledge regarding the harmful effects of adolescent risky behaviors and appropriate parenting strategies.
52 adult (93%) participants: 29 parents (56%) who attended the workshops completed a minimum of 2 workshops.
46 parents (88%) were noted as increasing involvement by their participation in a
minimum of 1 community- or school-based activity. 27 parents (52%) fulfilled both requirements. 93% who attended the workshops increased in knowledge
