What is the Jacksonville Teacher Residency (JTR)? JTR is the flagship urban teacher residency program in the state of Florida JTR prepares STEM graduates to teach science and mathematics in urban high-needs middle and high schools in Duval County JTR is unique to other teacher preparation programs because it provides residents with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while completing a one-year teaching apprenticeship with a master teacher The result: passionate math and science teachers equipped to navigate the unique complexities of teaching in urban schools.
