LAWNS AND WATER BODIES- LAWNS SHOULD BE IN THE EAST OR THE NORTH. ASMALL WATER-FALL OF THREE TO FOUR FEET OR A WATER BODY CAN BECONSTRUCTED IN THE EAST OR THE NORTH LEAVING THE NORTH-EAST CORNER. IFTHERE IS A SWIMMING POOL IN THE GARDEN, IT SHOULD BE IN THE NORTH ORNORTH-EAST DIRECTION, SO THAT THE PEOPLE USING THE POOL BENEFIT FROMTHE SUN RAYS AND ALSO, THE WATER WILL GET PURIFIED BY THE U.V RAYS OFTHE SUNLIGHT.

BENCHES - BENCHES ARE USEFUL IN BIG GARDENS AND CAN BE PLACED IN THEOPEN SPACE IN THE EAST AND THE NORTH DIRECTION SO THAT PEOPLE SITTING INTHESE DIRECTIONS, CAN BENEFIT FROM THE USEFUL SUN RAYS.

THIS POST WAS ABOUT THE VASTU GUIDELINES REGARDING THE USEFUL TREESAND PLANTS THAT CAN BE PLANTED IN A HOUSE GARDEN. ONE PASSES THROUGHTHE FRONT GARDEN TO REACH THE FRONT VERANDAH AND IT IS ADJACENT TOTHE CAR PORCH. READ ABOUT THE VASTU GUIDELINES FOR THESE SPACES, HERE:

1. HOW DO PLANTS REMOVE CHEMICAL VAPOR FROM THE AIR?

(1) PLANT LEAVES CAN ABSORB CERTAIN ORGANIC CHEMICALS AND DESTROYTHESE CHEMICALS BY A PROCESS CALLED “METABOLIC BREAKDOWN.” THIS WASPROVEN BY A GROUP OF GERMAN SCIENTISTS WHO LABELED FORMALDEHYDEWITH A RADIOACTIVE CARBON 14 TAG AND FOLLOWED ITS ABSORPTION ANDMETABOLIC DESTRUCTION INSIDE A SPIDER PLANT (CHLOROPHYTUMN COMOSUM).THE FORMALDEHYDE WAS METABOLIZED AND CONVERTED INTO TISSUEPRODUCTS SUCH AS ORGANIC ACIDS, SUGARS AND AMINO ACIDS ASDEMONSTRATED BY THE RADIOACTIVE CARBON 14 LABEL.

NASA HAS CONDUCTED AN OFFICIAL STUDY ON THE TOP 10 AIR PURIFYINGPLANTS, ASSIGNING EACH ONE A SCORE BASED ON HOW WELL THEY REMOVECHEMICAL VAPORS, RESIST INSECTS, AND HOW EASY THEY ARE TO MAINTAIN FORYOUR HOME OR GREEN OFFICE SPACE.

THE ARECA PALM

(IMAGES VIA PLANT DIRECTIONS, ENVICOGARDEN)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 8.5THE TOP AIR PURIFYING PLANT AS RANKED BY NASA’S STUDY IS THE ARECAPALM TREE. DUBBED “THE MOST EFFICIENT AIR HUMIDIFIER” BY METAEFFICIENT,THE ARECA CAN BE COUNTED ON TO KEEP YOUR HOME OR OFFICE MOIST DURINGDRY TIMES AND CONTINUOUSLY REMOVE CHEMICAL TOXINS FROM THE AIR.DURING WINTER TIME, IT CAN LITERALLY REPLACE THE USE OF ELECTRICHUMIDIFIERS ALTOGETHER!

THE LADY PALM

(IMAGES VIA LIVICK’S PALMS, TYTY)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 8.5NECK AND NECK WITH THE ARECA PALM TREE FOR NASA’S TOP-RANKED AIRPURIFYING PLANT IS THE LADY PALM (OR RHAPIS EXCELSA.) A VERSATILEPLANT, THE LADY CAN BE KEPT IN DRY OR HUMID CLIMATES (ANYWHERE FROM20-100 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT) AND IS FIERCELY RESISTANT TO MOST TYPES OFPLANT INSECTS.

THE BAMBOO PALM

(IMAGES VIA BLUE MOON CANDLES, PLANT IMPORTERS)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 8.4JUST A NOTCH BELOW THE TOP 2 AIR PURIFYING PALMS IS THE BAMBOO PALM(OR CHAMAEDOREA SEIFRIZII.) FEATURED PROMINENTLY INCASASUGAR.COM’S“PLANTS THAT PURIFY” SERIES, THE BAMBOO PALM THRIVESWHEN KEPT MOIST (BUT NOT WET) IN INDIRECT SUNLIGHT. PROVIDED THESECONDITIONS ARE KEPT STABLE, THE BAMBOO PALM CAN BE COUNTED ON TOPURIFY THE INDOOR AIR OF ANYWHERE YOU HAPPEN TO BE.

THE RUBBER PLANT

(IMAGE VIA HOWSTUFFWORKS, GREAT HOUSE PLANTS)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 8.0FOURTH ON NASA’S SCORING IS THE RUBBER PLANT (OR FICUS ROBUSTA.)ACCORDING TO AVIANWEB, RUBBER PLANTS EXCEL AT REMOVING CHEMICALTOXINS (ESPECIALLY FORMALDEHYDE) FROM INDOOR AIR, REQUIRING LESS LIGHTTHAN MANY OTHER PLANTS AND OUTPERFORMING ALL OTHER FICUSES. A WORDOF CAUTION, THOUGH: RUBBER PLANT LEAVES CAN BE TOXIC, SO BE MINDFUL OFTHAT IF YOU HAVE PETS ROAMING AROUND!

THE DRACAENA

(IMAGES VIA NATURAL SURROUNDING, HOUSE OF PLANTS)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.8THE DRACAENA (OR DRACAENA DEREMENSIS) PLACES FIFTH ON NASA’SRANKING WITH A 7.8 SCORE. BRIGHT AND RADIANT, THE DRACAENA (NICKNAMED“JANET CRAIG”) WILL GO TO WORK PURIFYING THE AIR IN YOUR HOME OR OFFICEAS SOON AS IT IS BROUGHT INTO THE ROOM!

ENGLISH IVY

(IMAGES VIA OVERSTOCK, OSU)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.8IF THE AIR WHERE YOU LIVE HAS GOTTEN STALE AND DRY, ENGLISH IVY(ORHEDERA HELIX) MIGHT BE JUST THE TICKET! WEBMD DESCRIBES THEEFFERVESCENT PLANT AS “A FIX FOR ALLERGIES“, NOTING THAT 60% OFAIRBORNE MOLD IN THE ROOM VANISHED JUST 6 HOURS AFTER ENGLISH IVY WASBROUGHT IN. DITTO FOR 58% IF AIRBORNE FECES! THOSE WITH ASTHMA,ALLERGIES, OR THE DESIRE TO BREATH CLEANER, FRESHER AIR WOULD DO WELLTO GIVE ENGLISH IVY A SHOT!

THE DWARF DATE PALM

(IMAGES VIA JUST PALM TREES, SFTRAJAN)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.8WHILE IT DOESN’T RANK AS HIGH ON THE PURIFYING SCALE AS ITS 3 PALMCOUSINS, MAKE NO MISTAKE: THE DATE PALM TREE (OR PHOENIX ROEBELINII)ISSTILL A VERY EFFECTIVE AND ELEGANT-LOOKING WAY TO BOTH LIVEN UP THELOOK OF A ROOM AND LOWER THE CONCENTRATION OF CHEMICAL TOXINSFLOATING AROUND IN THE AIR.

THE FICUS ALII

(IMAGES VIA HIONUS GREENHOUSES, DAVE’S GARDEN)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.7THE FICUS ALII (OR FICUS MACLEILANDII) IS NOT AS POTENT IN ITS TOXIN-REMOVING PROWESS AS, SAY, THE RUBBER PLANT, BUT IT IS STILL A FINEADDITION TO ANY HOME OR OFFICE WHERE CLEAN AIR IS LACKING. WHILE THEYARE NOT TERRIBLE DIFFICULT TO CARE FOR, PLANT CARE GURU WARNS THATGLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHILE HANDLING THE PLANT IF YOU HAVE LATEXALLERGIES.

THE BOSTON FERN

(IMAGES VIA SILK PLANT USA, COUNTRY LIVING)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.5NINTH ON NASA’S RANKING OF TOP AIR PURIFYING PLANTS IS THE EVER-POPULARBOSTON FERN (OR NEPHROLEPIS EXALTA.) COOL AND RELAXING, THE BOSTONFERN HAS BEEN CALLED THE “MOST EFFICIENT FILTERING PLANT” BYMETAEFFICIENT.COM FOR ITS TIME-TESTED ABILITY TO EXPEL MOLD AND TOXINSFROM INDOOR AIR. PLUS, IT’S SURE TO MAKE ANY HOME OR OFFICE MORE FOREST-LIKE!

THE PEACE LILLY

(IMAGES VIA PRINTS OF SCOTLAND, PERRY & JAYMES FLORIST)

NASA PURIFYING SCORE: 7.5ROUNDING OUT NASA’S LIST IS THE PEACE LILLY (OR SPATHIPHYLLUM SP.) ALLTHAT’S NEEDED TO KEEP AND MAINTAIN THIS BEAUTIFUL INDOOR AIR TOXINKILLER IS PLENTY OF WATER AND A MODEST AMOUNT OF SUNLIGHT. PRESERVETHESE CONDITIONS AT ALL TIME AND YOU’VE GOT YOURSELF AN ALL-NATURALAIR PURIFIER THAT WILL REMAIN HARD AT WORK 24/7!

INAUSPICIOUS PLANTS:

PLANTS LIKE MOTIA, KEORA, KUND, MUNI TREE ARE CONSIDERED AS

INAUSPICIOUS AND HARMFUL IF PLACED NEAR THE HOUSE AS THESE PLANTS HARBOUR

POISONOUS SNAKES AND INSECTS AT NIGHT. THE KEORA PLANT CAUSES RESPIRATORY

TROUBLE.

THE TREES LIKE BANYANA, PEEPAL AND TAMARIND ARE NOT CONSIDERED

FAVOURABLE IN THE HOME. THEY CAN BE PLACED AT A FAR OF DISTANCE IN THE

COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY

Color psychology is the study of hues as a determinant of human behavior.Color influences perceptions that are not obvious, such as the taste of food.Colors can also enhance the effectiveness of placebos. For example, red ororange pills are generally used as stimulants. Another way in which colors havebeen used to influence behavior was in 2000, when the company Glasgow

installed blue street lights in certain neighborhoods in order to reduce the crimerate. Color can indeed influence a person; however, it is important to rememberthat these effects differ between people. Factors such as gender, age, and culturecan influence how an individual perceives color. For example, males reportedthat red colored outfits made women seem more attractive, while womenanswered that the color of a male's outfit did not affect his attractiveness.

Color psychology is also widely used in marketing and branding. Manymarketers see color as an important part of marketing because color can be usedto influence consumers' emotions and perceptions of goods and services.Companies also use color when deciding on brand logos. These logos seem toattract more customers when the color of the brand logo matches the personalityof the goods or services, such as the color pink being heavily used on Victoria'sSecret branding. However, colors are not only important for logos and products, but also for window displays in stores. Research shows that warm colors tendedto attract spontaneous purchasers, despite cooler colors being more favorable.

Common Psychological Effects of Colors

The following are some common psychological effects of colors in theWestern Hemisphere. You can also review the following pages for amore comprehensive list of color meanings and symbolism, includingsome charts we’ve created that you can download or embed on your site.

Keep in mind that certain shades or tones may result in very differentmeanings. Also, the context around the color, and even surroundingcolors, can have an effect. Think of this as more of a beginning guide tocolor psychology.

Colour therapy can treat many diseases

Colour puncture therapy is an effective, pain free and non-invasive treatment. It is done byusing seven colours of light, logically and effectively on acupuncture points so as toharmonise the body’s bio-energy flowing in 14 channels.

Source of light is a simple torch and the desired colour is obtained by using colour filter. Thiscoloured light is then passed through a crystal with prism tip which touches the skin onspecific acupuncture points and some special zones.

The need of colour puncture

● Fear of needles.

● Children and many of adults are non-cooperative.

● Acupuncture is an invasive technique requiring skill and a complete knowledge of anatomy.

● Hence, we require a form of treatment which is both gentle and effective without involvingany unpleasant side-effects.

● Colour therapy fulfills both requirements. On one hand it is gentle, painless and does notcause any side-effects, on the other hand it is very effective.

Type of colours

● There are seven colours used in colour puncture.

● Three are primary colours — red, yellow and blue.

● A mixture of equal parts of two of these primary colours will yield a mixed colour that isgreen, blue, violet and indigo.

Indications of different colours

RED: The color of fire

● Poor circulation and insufficient blood-supply.

● For all chronic diseases.

● For heart, lung and muscle disorders.

● For non-suppurating wounds and inflammations.

● Skin diseases, weeping

eczemas.

● Anaemia.

● Frostbites.

● It makes lazy people more active, has cheering and

exciting effects and arouses passion

BLUE: The colour of peace and infinity

● It is a cold colour with relaxing effects.

● It is a colour of pituitary and endocrine system.

● For all diseases involving heat suppuration, pain and congestion.

● For hemorrhoids, warts.

● Heart diseases and hypertension.

● Insomnia.

● Hemorrhage.

● Impotence, frigidity, menopause.

YELLOW: Symbol of sun
