BILL’S EXHAUST NOTES Article by Bill Davis, VP, filling in for president, Janet Martin—May-June
Time flies by when we are having fun...30 years of Luckenbach Rallies, 27 Concours,
hosting 2 AGMs, 12 or more trips to Mexico for Concours and Rallies, 30 Christmas par-ties, 1 Christmas parade (more to come), Progressive Dinners, Spring Flings...and the good news...more to come. Our monthly meeting hosted by Victor at his shop was a good time enjoyed by all. I tried to set a record for a brief business meeting...somewhere around 5 minutes and now need to mention a few things in more detail...The Spring Fling hosted by the Jaguar Owners As-soc. of North Texas in Granbury 5/17,18,19. I asked Fran to email a flyer with all of the in-formation to SAJC members. The annual meeting of Texas Jaguar Clubs is a most enjoyable event...since I am sometimes retired, I hope to attend this year. The Wine and Chocolate Tour on June 1 is something to put on your calendar. I am look-ing forward to it...I like wine and I like chocolate!! And I want to mention again the Con-cours Judges Training at Ken James on Saturday, the 25th…to host a Concours we must have 8 certified judges. The whole thing takes about 2 hours...a learning experience for all including those who want to know what judges look for. Brian Blackwell is Chief Judge and instructor. Refreshments (munchies for old hippies) will be served. A flyer will be emailed to all...RSVP would be a good idea. Again, I want to thank Victor for hosting and providing a complimentary Indian food buffet lunch for the monthly meeting. Y’all look at the calendar of events and make plans to join us in good times and good wine (and chocolate) in the upcoming events. Let’s make some more good memories. Still Wild Bill...still driving! ...a couple of photos from Victor’s

This article is a Blast from the Past from the Jaguar Flashback in The Jagged Edge Au-
gust 1995 Newsletter....that was when I was able to publish our newsletters monthly.
Now that is a thing of the PAST!!
Featured in that month’s issue was the San Antonio Jaguar Club’s 1 Annual Concours
d’Elegance which was held in October, 1993. I was a bit skeptical because I knew
what a great undertaking it would be and I wasn’t sure we could pull it off. Bill Davis
was a firm believer and when it all came down to volunteers, we had them coming
out of the woodwork!
The festivities began on Friday night at d. Dee Howard’s Playhouse, where he not
only has a museum, but also award-winning display of rare antique automobiles.
That evening, Kathy James prepared and served a wonderful array of her outstanding
food.
On Saturday night, Rio Rio Restaurant was the setting for the cocktail party and din-
ner on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Sunday was Concours day. Help came early with
Kathy James arrived early to register those who came to show their Jags; Ray Blom
provided new banners (we still use one of them); Barbara Sundquist collected
checks; d. Mack & d. Betty McKibben assisted Jim Curran; and d. Lisa Musial and d.
Blake Lambert tallied up the Judges’ score sheets. There was a total of 45 (what??)
Jaguars, one 1936 MG, two 1909 Cadillacs and 11 Porsches on display. Needless to
say, we all learned a lot that weekend which established the foundation for the years
to come. (on hindsight, that was a true statement)
I then referred to our 3rd Annual City Concours d’Elegance, where I promised it to be
the “best one ever”! A statement I seem to make every year! lol

Concours Judges Training: Must have minimum of 8, and we have lost two who are not renewing. First round of training will be held Sat. 13 Apr at 9:00am at Victors with 2nd date option of 25 May at 9:00 at Ken James. You only need to attend 1 date/session, or you can do independent study. Test is open book group if you come to the group. Gabriel Renero and Janet Martin have volunteered and will start the training process. Brian will mail out the new judges tests and refresher training materials to current and new judges.
As new judges must judge at a sanctioned Concours in as an apprentice in order to be certified, we are going to need to make two Certified Judges of the Jaguar Club of Austin members of SAJC for 2018. Rufus Coburn and Dean Davis of JCOA have accepted our invitation to be Judges for SAJC. Once I figure out how to add them, we will have five done. When our remaining three give me their tests, we will be complete with eight for 2019.
27th Alamo City Concours d’Elegance at Sonterra: Update by Bill Davis that the contract has been signed for Paesano’s with Fran’s help for the Friday night reception. Contract with Sonterra was previously signed.

Spring Flyer from Welsh Enterprises Email — April, 2019
Change Is on The Way: Ian Callum confirms that Jaguar is Working On A New F-Type
At the 2019 New York Auto Show, Ian Callum told Road & Track that a new generation of
the F-Type is on the way. What that generation of the iconic sports car will entail is still
unknown. The only thing that Callum confirmed to Road & Track is that the new genera-
tion will remain a two-person sports car. He also states that the F-Type outsells the 911 in
some areas of the world and has the same profit per unit as the Range Rover. He also
confirmed that the next generation of the XJ will be ready for next year, but did not com-
ment if the car will be all electric as rumored.
