The park was built in 20 acres of land along the Helmand River 12 years ago at a cost of 48 million afghanis. Grass in the park has dried af- ter never waters and its tiles, seats and other things have destroyed. Esmatullah, a resident of Lashkargah, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Millay Baba Park was beautifully constructed but negligence brought it on the verge of de- struction. “It was a great park, but now it gives an ugly look like a bar- ren land, its sitting areas are also destroyed,” he said, and feared the park’s trees would dry soon if paid no attention. Governor AbulJabbarNaeemi, General Director of Civil Avia- tion Authority Mahmood Shah Habibi and MPs Amir Khan Yar and Mohammad Hassan Mamomzai accompanied the minister. The enmity between the two vil- lages has caused dozens of casual- ties on both sides during clashes that also threatened local security, Kapisa police spokesman Moham- mad AyubYousufzai told Pajh- wok Afghan News. The government commission that comprised of security and civil organs mediated between the two villages and guaranteed no side would resort to violence. A number of members of the Wolesi Jirga (the Lower House of Parliament) and Meshrano Jirga (the Upper House of Parliament) on Saturday sharply criticized in- telligence departments and gov- ernment officials for their inability to prevent attacks, especially in the capital, and called for them to resign. MPs and senators said the dete- riorating security situation was a shame for security officials and stated they must step down. This comes after at least 63 people were killed in Saturday’s deadly ambulance bombing in Kabul city. In addition, at least another 151 people were wounded. This attack was just the latest in a string of deadly incidents in the country this week, including the siege of the Intercontinental Ho- tel last Saturday, which also left dozens of people dead, including foreign nationals. “Unfortunately, today’s attack MEHTHARLAM - At least eight Taliban insurgents, including a notorious commander, have been killed during a nighttime raid in Alingar district of east- ern Laghman province, an offi- cial said on Saturday.
