Between Friends: One Common Thread Wint er 2010 The regular newsletter of Friendship Spinners From the Program Chair Fellow Fiber Fanatics, Brrrrrrrr! It's cold outside! There isn't a better time than now to go through your fiber stash. Rediscover fibers you didn't remember you had, dream up a new project, set aside fiber for the spinners exchange and find something exciting to make mittens out of. You can get a "jump start" on this year s weavers / spinners / knitters exchange. There's more information about the exchange elsewhere in the newsletter, as well as a lot of other goodies. Once again, it was great to see everyone at Shakertown. It's the perfect place to get reacquainted with old friends and make new ones, to exchange ideas and dreams, to refresh old skills or plan to learn new ones, and to catch up with people you haven't seen in awhile or someone you saw just last week. It always warms my heart to see what a caring, sharing, friendly, accepting group of people Friendship Spinners is.  As always, with a New Year, there are changes that will occur. For me, it will mean stepping down as Co-Program Chair. I need to use the energy I have to help keep the chronic cancer I've had since 1994 in it's place. That means I need to concentrate on myself and my health, and not anything else. I know all o f your good thoughts and prayers will make it easier for me to focus on what's important for me. Well, maybe I can get in a little spinning, knitting, and weaving. And there's always the garden in spring, and 6 grandchildren in summer........ Remember, until we meet again, keep those fingers busy, and those dreams flying! Carol Wixom Ex-Co-Program Chair Up-coming Spin-Ins Feb 13 Shelby Co. Extension Office Mar 13 Franklin Co.
