My baby brother’s fat, as fat
As any boy can be,
And he is just the sweetest duck.
That ever you did see.
I count the dimples in his hands,
A dozen times a day,
And often wonder when he coos
What he would like to say.
I comb the down upon his head,
He hasn’t any hair,
It must be cold without and yet he
doesn’t seem to care.
It is so nice to see him kick,
He has such pretty feet;
I think if we might eat him up
It would be quite a treat.

Lions
F or all of their roaring, growling, and ferociousness,
lions are family animals and truly social in their
own communities. They usually live in groups of
15 or more animals called prides. Prides can be as small as 3
or as big as 40 animals. In a pride, lions hunt prey, raise
cubs, and defend their territory together. In prides the fe-
males do most of the hunting and cub rearing. Usually all
the lionesses in the pride are related—mothers, daughters,
grandmothers, and sisters. Many of the females in the pride
give birth at about the same time. A cub may nurse from
other females as well as its mother. Each pride generally will
have no more than two adult males.

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
The nervous system is responsible for re-
ceiving, processing and transmitting infor-
mation which the body needs to coordi-
nate all it’s activities. The body constantly
receives a great deal of varied infor-
mation, called stimuli. It can work out the
difference between hot or cold, up or
down, yesterday and today.
The body receives stimuli from within it-
self, ,making it react in a certain way. For
example, when running fast the body
needs more oxygen so
it needs to breath
more deeply.
The nervous system-controls the body’s re-actions and is re-spon-sible for all the sensa-tions in the body
