business, Katie Naughton is an independent retailer
for LuLaRoe clothing line and is also a member of the
Castro Valley/ Eden Area Chamber of Commerce. If
you’d like to check out LuLaRoe, connect with Katie
through Facebook or find her at LuLaRoe’s website:

CAREER PATHWAYS TRUST Page 8—Jan. 5, 2018 Chamber Newsletter
Now into the final semester of its third school year at Castro Valley High School, the Career Pathway Trust (CPT) program continues with tremendous growth. Castro Valley’s summer internships alone have seen huge development with 14 students having been placed in the summer of 2016, to 41 students for the summer of 2017. But it’s not just internships that are up; overall enrollment in the Pathway Program has grown to envelope roughly one third of the entire student body at CVHS- around 900 students.
As our program continues to flourish, we are continuously looking for ways to expand our reach and ask you, our members, if the company you work for may have space for a high school intern who is eager to learn. If an intern is not fitting, perhaps you or someone at your compa-ny be interested in coming to the classrooms as a guest speaker for a day in one of the following fields:
• Engineering
• ICT (Information and Communication Technology)
• Habit (Health and Biotech)
Graphic Design These students are looking to their future and taking advantage of the opportunity for real-world, Work Based Learning experiences. Not only is exposure beneficial to the students’ professional development, but also gives employers a glimpse into the next generation of engineers, graphic designers, technology, and health professionals.
If you have questions about the program or feel that you can somehow participate in the program, please contact Kim Hudson:
