JAN FEB 2016 Hope tract ministry WWW.HOPETRACTS.ORG As we reflect back on some of what was accomplished this past year we are grateful to God for all He has done in and through this ministry and consider it a privilege to serve here. The year began on a sad note as we lost our dear friend and founder, Pastor Wayne Smith. Bro. Smith went home to be with the Lord on February 22. We have greatly missed him! The total number of tracts printed is now almost 163 million. We personally shipped 237,000 tracts to foreign countries and an additional 231,000 was shipped by those in our Satellite Program. We introduced one new English tract: “Your Life Can Have A New Beginning” and four new foreign language tracts: one in Bulgarian, one in Nepali, one in Dutch, and one in Haitian Creole. We have received reports of nineteen people here in the US being saved after reading one of our tracts, as well as sixty nine in foreign countries. Some of the projects we had involved 20,000 to Germany, 5,000 to Hungary, 30,000 to the Philippines, 40,000 to Haiti, 40,000 to the Ivory Coast, and 60,000 to H.E.L.P.S. Ministry which went to Tanzania, Haiti, Myanmar, and South America. The Mitsubishi SDP-Eco 1630 III (Silver Digiplate) system arrived in March and we spent much time training and setting up some of our existing tracts on it. Pastor Gerald Moss, Jr and Faith Baptist Church in Chester, SC, already a supporter of this ministry, began doing satellite work for us. We gained four new supporters; Pastor Lewis Howell and Sonlight Baptist Church in Whakatane, New Zealand; George and Bessie Smith of Bostic, NC; Pastor Mike Pittman and Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Stanley, NC; and Pastor Jim Davidson and Maranatha Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Our representatives, Daniel & Sherry Shoemaker have done a great job! We were sad to lose our pastor, Jim Barnes as he answered the call to go to Washington State to help start a church. We wish he and his family God’s blessings. We look forward to 2016 with great anticipation of what God will do through our church and HTM. MOVINGFORWARD LOOKINGBACK& Hope Tract Ministry is a local church ministry out of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in York, SC. Our church is excited to welcome our new pastor Bro. Andy Schelling. He, his wife Noemia, and there three children Morgan, Gabriel, and Alyssa, are from the Cincinatti area. Bro. Schelling has been working with the Christian Law Association for the past year as he waited on the Lord’s direction. We are thankful that God has brought us together and look forward to his leadership in the church as well as with Hope Tract Ministry. What began as a new front for our existing tract, “The God of a New Start” ended up with a new title and a revised message as well. We have enclosed a sample for you. “No matter who you are, or what kind of mess you have made of your life, God can give you a new start.”

A pallet contain- ing 320,000 tracts for Lewis Howell, missionary to New Zealand, was picked up by Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, NC and has been shipped to him. Bro. Howell pastors Sonlight Baptist Church, which he planted in Whakatane. He wrote the fol-lowing in his recent newsletter: “Our church here in Whakatane is becoming a source for tracts to distribute to other Independent Baptist Churches throughout New Zealand. Our Soul Winning Revival this past February, and our up-coming Revival this February, are intended to encourage the mass distribution and saturation of the Gospel throughout New Zealand. Our little church puts out 40,000(+/-) tracts each year, and almost a dozen other churches have been encouraged to do the same. It would be a blessing to see a pallet of tracts distributed each year, and worth every penny of your faithful support.

They recently handed out 3,000 of our tracts in their Christmas parade. They wrote: “This is a highlight for our church. We start preparing a month early, attaching a “Star Brite” candy to each tract. Though the candy is an incentive, we witness many reading the tracts as they wait for the parade. This year I had several say they remembered receiving a tracts from us the previous years. It certainly is taking longer than I thought to establish our name in this town, but just in the past year we have started seeing and hearing evidence of our labors for the past 5 years. Our tract with a Christmas candy on it has people remember-ing who we are, and reading about the true meaning of the Babe in a manger.

BULGARIAN NOW AVAILABLE Our tranct entitled, “It Is Finished” has been translated into Bulgarian by Jonathan Owens, Missionary to Bulgaria. This is a new language for us. The Owens family are out of Westside Baptist Church in Pacifica, CA and serv-ing through W.B. World Missions.

Your Vision Affects Your Decision I was born with a cataract on my left eye, therefore, I have very little sight in that eye. At the age of seventy I had surgery to remove a cataract from my right eye. An eye doctor said the cataract on my right eye should be removed when it affected my quality of life. I was having trouble knowing what color a traffic light was until I was almost too close to react.

Therefore, my vision was affecting my quality of life. Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish:” Until our vision for them begins to affect our quality of life we will do very little to reach the lost. You may say what can I do? Jesus said of the woman who poured anointment on His feet. Mark 14:8 “She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.” Vs 9 “Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.” The woman did what she could and look at the testimony Christ said about her. If all you can do is give someone a gospel tract you too can hear Christ say of you, you did what you could. Everything depends on your vision.

The Holloway Family Visits

Our church was honored to have Jeremy Holloway and his family with us in December. He was a great challenge to our folks. They are mis-sionaries with Prayer Baptist Missions International working in South Sudan. They stopped by the tract ministry to restock their tract supply.

“We received your tracts on Saturday. Thank you for giving that we may give. Over the past several weeks we have seen the church grow in attendance. Now we are in the middle of a construction time of building church pews so we can better accommodate the people. In the last 6 weeks or so we have seen around 19 souls saved. Each week we are doing our best to distribute at the least 1000 tracts. This past weekend we were able to give out around 1300 or more. That means that your printing ministry has had the wonderful opportunity to preach 1300 messages in one day. You multiply that by the number of

weeks we have been distributing your tracts and that is a lot of messages preached. Thank God for the printed page in the form of a gospel tract. It can do what I cannot and never gets tired of going and doing it. Amen! Thank You And May The Lord Bless You,” Missionary Bro. Ben H. Andrews

Christmas parades are a popular time to distribute tracts, and every year we receive many requests for our Christmas tracts for parades. Pastor John Melton and Tabernacle Baptist Church in China Grove, NC handed out 2,500 of our tracts at the Southern Rowan County Christmas Parade. They wrote, “All our youth were excited to hand out the tracts. We saw people reading them after we gave them out…Praying that souls are saved! God Bless!” Betty Wallace

384 families with food

161 families with toys

Tender Hearts Thanksgiving & Christmas Outreach Ainslee Moss is the founder and director of Tender Hearts, a ministry of our church here in York. This ministry helps families and individuals by providing clothing and food to those in need. Their thrift stores provide other household items at affordable prices. TheHouse of Hope offers a 9 month shelter program providing biblical counseling, job training, financial management and more.

Every year they have a Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach in which they provide a complete Thanksgiving meal, as well as toys and clothing for the children.

The Thanksgiving outreach helped 907 individuals and the Christmas outreach helped 964 individuals

and gave toys to 678 children. Pray that the tracts used in each outreach will yield fruit.

Two of our gospel tracts were placed in each bag of food.

Alouisio de Oliveira, a national missionary in Brazil, relies heavily on our Portuguese tracts in his ministry and writes regularly, sending us many pictures of his team as they go into places of business, markets, hospitals, and any-where there are people to be reached.

“I write this mail to you just to let you know about the ministry of hope tract that is still growing. I had two trips few months ago. From 31st July to 3rd August 2015 I was in Zambia preaching the word of God and distributing the tract and from 25th September, 22nd September 2015, I was in Mozambique. It was a wonderful time because so many people received Jesus Christ and people were blessed with the tracts. Let me know if this mail reached you so that I can send you the snaps and testimonies. Send me more tracts…”
