WORK EXPERIENCE JANINA GAITAN AARUM CAFE 15.02.08

I worked Whitcoulls Book Store as my first work experience for nearly a year, then moved on to Ballentynes Fashion centre, working with fashion clothes, I learnt about clothes and how to dress models. I even went to a fashion parade there. At the end of last year I got a job in Aarum Cafe at Palmers Garden Centre, doing the sterilizing. I really love my job there, I work on weekends and get full pay for it. My workmates are wonderful and very helpful if I have any problems.

The sterilizer has an alarm that goes off when it is safe to open and get the dishes out. I am very careful and I can get hot during the day because of the steam. I don’t mind that. I love the job I do

Some really big items also don’t go in because they will not fit. These I wash by hand in very hot water

All the dishes require rinsing before they go into the sterilizer. Most items are safe to put in, but some types of plastic cannot because of the heat, they will buckle
