New York City College of Technology Division of Continuing Education offers an
array of programming for over 16,000 students each year, serving businesses,
union members, incumbent workers, career changers, those in need of basic skills,
professionals in need of CEU’s and those wishing to engage in lifelong learning for
personal enrichment.
With so much attention being given to
going green, it is no surprise that
cleaning companies are putting green
cleaning programs into action. The
Green Maintenance for Buildings
Program will help you understand
what green cleaning is, why you
should care, the benefits of green
cleaning, green organizations, proce-
dures, what makes a product green,
and how a green cleaning program
works.
The Green Maintenance for Buildings
Program is a FREE, eight to ten week
training program. Classes are held
9 AM to 4 PM Monday thru Thursday
and 9 AM to 3 PM on Friday for
participants seeking to obtain a GED.
Going Green
The Green Maintenance for Buildings Program prepares individuals to work in entry-level positions primarily as janitors, porters and maintenance personnel working either in commercial or residential buildings, or for janitorial service companies.
Each student will learn basic building operations that include:

E-Waste-Florescent Bulbs & Computers OSHA 10-General Safety
Asbestos Awareness Blue Print Reading
Sheet Rock Installation Elements of Electricity & Wiring
Basic Plumbing and Tiling Lock Repair
Floor Care Machines Use of Tools and Janitorial Equipment
