According to the ABWA National, “Your vision statement should passionately proclaim the desired state of your Chapter when it has realized its full potential. It boldly and

enthusiastically describes what your league will look, feel and act like when it has successfully achieved its goals.” With that in mind, these were the visions captured from

your leadership team.

INVOCATION

Lord, in the quiet of this hour,

we come to thee for wisdom and

for power; to view thy world through

only loved-fi lled eyes; to grow in

understanding to be wise, and sure to

see thy guiding light; and thus, to know

each other as thou knowest us.

Amen

BENEDICTION

O Guiding Spirits, Guardian of

our days, be with us as we go

our separate ways, help us to feel

those thoughts that lift and bless, to

know a closer bond of friendliness;

to see thy beauty, always every day,

translated into living this we pray.

Amen

It’s Time to Select our Top Ten Business Woman Candidate!

Being selected as the Emerald Coast candidate for the national 2016 Top 10 Business Woman Award was a huge honor for me. I only dreamed of making the Top 10 and that dream came true last August when they called me from National to let me know I had been selected to be a 2016 National Top 10…a “Forever 10”. The reality of the impact this would have on my life and our chapter recognition became apparent fi rst as I received over 60 letters, cards and gifts of congratulations from around the country. As I attended the Tri County event in South Florida the congratulations, recognition and attention were almost overwhelming. Then, at the National Leadership Conference, I was brought to tears many times humbled by the recognition and the attention received…. especially after meeting my amazing Top 10 Sisters. Not only have I made some lifelong friends, my business has grown as a result of this. I can now pick up the phone and call someone from every state we represent and make a connection if needed.

You see, we had not had someone from Emerald Coast Chapter make national Top 10 since Karyn Combs won the overall title in 2005 and even then, she was a member of the Fort Walton Beach Charter Chapter that later combined with Emerald Coast. I believe now that I fully understand the process, I can mentor any of you who would like to achieve this great award on how to prepare your paper work.

I want each of you to experience what I have experienced and continue to experience. The fi rst step in doing that is by fi lling out your application and getting qualifi ed to apply. Qualifying is really about engaging in the chapter and getting your Apex Awards on WIN. It’s also about your involvement in the community. I know we have many people in our chapter who are as qualifi ed or more qualifi ed than I was to win this award. I am willing to help anyone who would like to apply to complete your application. They were emailed out to you. If you did not receive one, just email me. The deadline for entries is Feb.1. We will have an outside panel of judges along with an internal panel to review and select the person who will represent us this year as our Top 10 Candidate.

This year we are doing something different. Instead of letting the local Top 10 Candidate winner be secondary to the Woman of the Year, we have separated them and will give the Top 10 Candidate their equal reward in March. We have Dr. Sonja Ogletree-Satani, our District 1 VP AND one of my Top 10 Sisters this year, coming to be the keynote speaker for this special event. I am asking all former Top 10 Candidates to please email me and let me know who you are – we want you to be recognized at this event as well….it is YOUR night!

SO – fi ll out your application and email it to me ([email protected]) no later than February 1st at 5pm. If you have questions or need help just call or email me – I want you to win this!! Oh….and by the way – even past winners who have not won on the national level can re-apply!
