HAMBDEN 5 C's
This year we are focusing on 21st century skil ls through our "Hambden 5 C's". We focus on one of these skills each month in the classroom and also during school wide events. One of the ways we are promoting this is through our poster contest. Students designed their own Hambden 5 C's logo with the understanding that the winning design would be turned into posters, stickers and a variety of other items to be seen around the school. Our Art teacher Mrs. Stickley and myself selected 6 f inalists for our students to vote on online. From there students were given the opportunity to vote again on the top two designs. During our last Wildcat Award assembly, every student voted between the f inal two designs. When all the votes were counted Carolyn Heflin's design had the most votes! Her design will now become a part of our culture here at Hambden this year. I love that our students all had a say in coming up with our f inal
product. Congratulations Carolyn!
LEAVE PAWS-ITIVE PRINTS
...is our theme for this year. Each day our teachers recognize certain students for displaying this trait. At the beginning of the day, Mr. Prezioso randomly draws one name. This student gets to choose a prize from our "treasure box". Our students drawn for last week were:
Charl ie Shamakian - included a classmate
Gwen Boyle - did the right thing
Abriel le Al len - helped someone
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WINNERS! GREAT JOB!
